Chapter 570: Unrelated
Li An, Guo Yao, and Inuyasha's group sat around a quiet clearing, before them arrayed various strange items they had collected during their exploration of the demonic power source: ancient scrolls, gemstones emitting faint light, and stone tablets inscribed with mysterious runes. These items seemed unrelated, yet each appeared to conceal secrets of the demonic power source.
"Can these things really help us uncover the secret of the demonic power source?" Kaede frowned, her eyes filled with doubt and worry. She gently picked up a scroll, unrolled it, and the twisted symbols made her feel dizzy. Guo Yao lightly patted Kaede's shoulder, offering her a reassuring glance; over these past weeks, they had supported each other and forged a deep friendship.
"There must be clues—we'll study them more carefully," Li An said, his brow furrowed, his gaze sweeping intently across the items as his pen scribbled furiously on paper. In his mind, possible clues kept surfacing, trying to piece together these fragmented details into a complete picture.
Inuyasha stood up impatiently, his grip tight on Tetsusaiga; the blade's cold gleam mirrored the wariness in his eyes. "Hmph, I've always felt this so-called demonic power source isn't simple—it might bring us nothing but trouble." His voice, low and wary, echoed through the silent forest.
Miroku stroked his chin, a flicker of thought in his eyes: "Inuyasha has a point. No one knows what lies behind these ancient seals tied to these items." His gaze held both curiosity and unease; his Wind Tunnel trembled slightly in his hand.
Sango crossed her arms and nodded in agreement: "Yes, we must proceed with caution." Her eyes were sharp and alert, constantly scanning the surroundings; her Flying Bone twitched slightly, as if ready for any enemy to appear.
At that moment, Li An, who had been silently studying the tablet, suddenly brightened: "I think I've found something! This ancient seal seems intricately linked to the demonic power source—it might be the key to unlocking all these mysteries." His voice carried a hint of excitement as he raised the tablet high; the runes upon it seemed to glow faintly at that instant.
Inuyasha's face darkened instantly. He stepped forward sharply, a powerful aura of malice radiating from him: "Are you insane? This dangerous thing should be destroyed—before it brings us more trouble!" His eyes blazed with anger and fear; he gripped Tetsusaiga tighter, as if ready to strike at any moment.
Li An rose to his feet, his gaze steady on Inuyasha: "Inuyasha, calm down. This might be our only chance to defeat Naraku once and for all—we can't give up so easily." His voice was calm and firm, trying to steady Inuyasha.
"Calm down? How am I supposed to calm down? Every time you pull something like this out of nowhere—who knows if you'll get us all killed!" Inuyasha's voice rose louder; his body trembled slightly, clearly overwhelmed by rage.
"Everything I've done is for all of us—for finally defeating Naraku and ending this endless war!" Li An raised his voice too, a hint of helplessness and anger in his eyes. He didn't understand why Inuyasha never trusted him.
