Chapter 608: Pressing the Advantage
"Argh!" The leader let out a miserable shriek, his body flying backward and crashing heavily onto the ground. Seeing their leader fall, the mysterious figures immediately lost their formation.
"Now's the time—press the attack!" Li An shouted, leading his companions in a final assault on the mysterious figures. Deprived of their leader's command, the mysterious figures were soon beaten into a rout and scattered in all directions.
Watching the enemies flee, Li Anzhangshu let out a long breath, a confident smile spreading across his face. His companions crowded around, casting admiring gazes at him.
"Li An, you're amazing!" Okabe Rintaro gave a thumbs-up and praised.
"Yeah, if it weren't for Li An, we'd be in real trouble this time," Hashida Itaru chimed in from the side.
Li An smiled and said, "This isn't the work of one person alone—it's the result of everyone's joint effort. However, this world looks far more dangerous than we imagined; we must act with caution."
Sunlight spilled over the bustling city streets of the new Anime World, streams of people coming and going, the scene seemingly peaceful. Yet Li An keenly sensed the undercurrents hidden beneath the calm. He strolled along the street, brows tightly knit, a hint of vigilance glinting in his eyes. During this period, he had noticed many strange phenomena: occasional inexplicable energy fluctuations in the city, and the behavior of some residents becoming oddly bizarre, as if controlled by some unknown force.
"There must be something hidden behind all these phenomena," Li An murmured to himself, his fingers lightly tapping his chin as he fell into thought. He decided to investigate in depth and uncover the secret behind it.
As the investigation deepened, Li An discovered that all these strange phenomena pointed to a mysterious organization. Its power spread across the entire world like an invisible great web; its members acted in secret and used cruel methods. Every time he drew closer to the truth, Li An could feel a powerful pressure, as if a pair of eyes were watching him intently from the shadows.
"This villainous faction's power is actually this vast—looks like this challenge is no small matter," Li An thought to himself, a hint of gravity showing in his eyes, but more than that, resolve. He knew well that he bore the responsibility of protecting this world.
Normally, when facing such a powerful enemy, Li An should first gather his companions to discuss a plan. Yet this time he made a decision no one had anticipated—going alone to the Qianwangfan Sect's lair...
"Li An, are you crazy? Going alone is way too dangerous!" Okabe Rintaro shouted after learning of Li An's decision, his eyes wide open, his face filled with worry and shock. His hands waved in the air as he tried to persuade Li An to change his mind.
"Yeah, Li An, why don't we discuss it together and work out a thorough plan?" Hashida Itaru urged from the side, pushing up his glasses on the bridge of his nose, his eyes full of concern. His fingers fidgeted anxiously with the hem of his clothes, clearly very worried about Li An's decision.
"I understand your concerns, but the situation this time is special," Li An said, his expression calm yet his eyes revealing confidence. "I've already used my golden finger to devise an unexpected plan—acting alone is actually more advantageous." He lifted his head slightly, his gaze fixed firmly on the distance, as if he could already see the dawn of victory.
"But…" Shiina Mayuri bit her lip, tears glimmering in her eyes, her voice carrying a sob, "Mayuri is so worried about you, Li An." Her small hands clenched tightly together, her body trembling slightly, her face full of worry.
