Chapter 631: A Touch of Loneliness
"What… is this place?" Li An warily surveyed his surroundings, weapon gripped tightly in his hands, a hint of confusion and wariness in his eyes. His figure looked somewhat lonely in the mist, yet it radiated a steady, unshakable presence.
Just as he was about to venture deeper, suddenly, a deafening roar came from within the fog. A colossal guardian beast burst out of the mist—its body as large as a small hill, covered in black scales, each one glinting with a cold, icy light. Its eyes burned like twin flames, radiating a fierce and savage glow, and its enormous claws left deep gouges in the ground.
"Not good!" Li An's heart jolted, and he swiftly dodged sideways. The guardian beast's attack shot past him like a cannon shell, kicking up a cloud of dust on the ground.
"This guardian beast's strength is actually this terrifying!" Li An's brows knit tightly, and he secretly marveled within. He knew he had run into a formidable opponent this time.
Outside the mysterious space, Guo Yao and the others waited anxiously. They gathered at the entrance leading into the mysterious space, their faces full of worry.
"Li An's been in there so long—why hasn't he come out yet? Could something have happened?" Guo Yao's eyes glistened with tears, her hands clasped tightly together as she paced back and forth on the spot, her heart filled with unease.
"Don't worry, Yaoyao—Li An is so capable, he'll definitely be fine." Though Okabe Rintaro said this, a hint of worry also showed in his eyes. He paced back and forth at the entrance, glancing toward the mysterious space every now and then, hoping to catch a glimpse of Li An.
"Yeah, Li An will definitely come back safe." Shiina Mayuri pressed her palms together, closed her eyes, and silently prayed. Her face wore an innocent expression, but her brows were slightly furrowed—she was clearly worried about Li An too.
Hashida Itaru sat at the computer, his fingers flying across the keyboard, trying to use the instruments to obtain information from inside the mysterious space: "Strange—this mysterious space seems to have some kind of special energy field interfering with our detection equipment. We can't pick up anything at all." His face was full of anxiety, and beads of sweat had broken out on his forehead.
Makise Kurisu stood to one side, quietly gazing at the entrance to the mysterious space: "We're all well aware of Li An's strength—he'll definitely be able to handle it." Though her tone was very calm, a hint of tension also showed in her eyes.
Amane Suzuha, on the other hand, stood with arms crossed, pacing back and forth at the entrance on patrol: "No matter what happens, we have to be ready to respond to Li An at any moment." Her gaze was firm, and she was prepared at any moment to face any danger that might appear.
Daru stood off to the side, nervously rubbing his hands together: "I hope Li An can come out soon—I'm nearly dying of anxiety." His face wore its usual simple, honest look, but at this moment it was filled with anxiety.
Meanwhile, inside the mysterious space, Li An's battle with the guardian beast had already entered the white-hot stage. The guardian beast's attacks grew fiercer and fiercer, each strike carrying tremendous force, making it somewhat difficult for Li An to fend them off.
"Hmph, you think you can pass through here with the likes of you?" The guardian beast let out a low voice, its sound seeming to pierce straight through a person's soul, filling them with a wave of dread.
Li An gritted his teeth, thinking to himself: "This guardian beast's strength is certainly great, but it must have a weakness. I have to find its weakness fast, or else I'm really done for today."
Just then, the guardian beast launched another attack. It opened its enormous, blood-filled maw, and a black beam of light shot toward Li An. Li An's eyes flashed coldly, and he swiftly mobilized the power within his body, forming a defensive barrier in front of him.
