Chapter 679: Deep Wounds
"These beasts are too strong! What should we do?" Guo Yao asked anxiously.
Li An gripped his long sword tightly, his eyes firm and cold. "Do not fear; we will surely find a way to break through."
Just then, Silver Moon suddenly let out a sharp cry. It charged at a beast, leaving a deep wound on the beast's body with its sharp claws.
The beast, stung by pain, roared and turned to attack Silver Moon. Li An and Guo Yao seized the opportunity to counterattack, finally driving the group of beasts back.
"Well done! Silver Moon!" Li An shouted excitedly, looking at Silver Moon with gratitude and admiration in his eyes.
Silver Moon playfully blinked 280 times, as if to say: "It's nothing much; this is just my duty."
After countless twists and challenges, they finally found all the "keys." Some of these "keys" were ancient relics hidden in tree hollows, some were gems guarded by mysterious creatures, and others were mysterious runes concealed in secret caves behind waterfalls.
When they had gathered all the "keys," Li An felt a strong sense of accomplishment surge in his heart. He knew they were one step closer to unveiling the veil of mysterious power.
Carrying all the "keys," Li An, Guo Yao, and Silver Moon returned once more to the great barrier. They gazed at the symbols on the barrier, their hearts filled with anticipation and tension.
"Are you ready?" Li An asked, his voice low and powerful.
Guo Yao and Silver Moon nodded, their eyes filled with determination and courage.
Li An took a deep breath and began to embed the "keys" one by one into their corresponding positions on the barrier, following the order of the symbols on the stone tablet. As the "keys" were embedded, the light on the barrier gradually weakened, as if suppressed by some force.
"Almost there! Hold on a little longer!" Li An shouted loudly, fine beads of sweat already seeping from his forehead.
Guo Yao and Silver Moon also cheered him on from the side, supporting Li An in their own ways. Suddenly, a deafening boom erupted from the barrier, followed by a surge of brilliant light, as if it were about to illuminate the entire forest.
Li An closed his eyes tightly, waiting for the final result. When he opened his eyes again, he saw that the barrier had vanished without a trace, replaced by a path leading to an unknown realm.
"We succeeded!" Guo Yao shouted excitedly, looking at Li An with admiration shining in her eyes.
Sunlight filtered through the dense canopy, dappled and scattered across Li An's resolute face. He kept his eyes tightly shut, his brows furrowed, as if engaged in a silent struggle with memories deep within his heart. Guo Yao stood quietly beside him, her gaze gentle yet firm; in her eyes, full of trust, reflected Li An's focused figure.
"An, you can definitely do it," Guo Yao whispered softly, like a spring breeze brushing over a lake, carrying endless encouragement and warmth.
Li An took a deep breath and slowly opened his eyes, a resolute light flashing within them. He recalled the mysterious symbols he had seen in the ancient ruins; each symbol was like a key to opening the door to the Unknown World, and now he was trying to use these keys to solve the mystery of the barrier before him.
Li An walked to the barrier and gently touched the strange symbols with his fingers. These symbols seemed to possess life; as he touched them, they began to tremble slightly, emitting a faint glow. He closed his eyes, and scenes from the ruins rose in his mind; the arrangement order of those symbols and their relationships with one another became clear one by one in his mind..
