Chapter 680: The Light of Adoration
"That's it!" Li An's eyes snapped open. His fingers moved swiftly across the barrier, touching each symbol one by one in the order he remembered.
As the last symbol was touched, the barrier suddenly erupted with dazzling light, as if it had been activated. Within the radiance, the barrier began to twist and warp, then finally shattered with a boom, dissolving into specks of starlight that scattered into the air.
"We did it!" Guo Yao cheered excitedly, gripping Li An's hand tightly, her eyes full of adoration and joy.
Li An smiled gently at Guo Yao, his eyes full of tenderness: "Let's go see what lies hidden behind this barrier."
The two walked hand in hand through the barrier, and the view before them opened up at once. They arrived deep within a vast forest, utterly different from the scene before—an ancient, mysterious aura permeated the air. At the forest's center, a colossal structure stood imposingly, its surface covered in intricate runes that emitted a faint, ghostly glow, as if it were the heart of this forest.
"Is this the source of the mysterious power?" Guo Yao looked around curiously, a spark of exploratory light glinting in her eyes.
Li An nodded, his look grave: "That's right. A tremendous secret is hidden here. We have to be careful."
The two edged closer to the structure. Suddenly, a low, rumbling roar echoed from within, and immediately after, a figure draped in a black robe strode out of the building. Evil light flickered in his eyes—he was none other than the leader of the evil organization.
"How dare you break in here!" the leader roared in fury. With a sweep of both hands, the surrounding trees instantly twisted and warped, transforming into enormous tentacles that lunged toward Li An and Guo Yao.
"Careful!" Li An shouted, swiftly drawing the longsword at his waist, fighting shoulder to shoulder with Guo Yao.
The tentacles surged in like a tide. Li An and Guo Yao moved with lithe agility, weaving among them and dodging their strikes. At the same time, they struck back—Li An's longsword swept like a dragon, every slash accompanied by a fierce sword wind that severed the tentacles one by one. Guo Yao, meanwhile, gathered spiritual energy in both hands and released dazzling waves of spiritual power, blasting back every tentacle that drew near.
Silver Moon also assisted at the side. Its lithe form leapt atop the tentacles, rending them with sharp claws and fangs; then it transformed into a streak of silver light, darting among the enemies to deliver them fatal blows.

However, the leader of the evil organization had no intention of letting them off easily. With a sweep of both hands, the surrounding air instantly condensed, forming sharp ice blades that shot toward Li An and Guo Yao.
"Watch out for the ice blades!" Li An shouted, swiftly swinging his sword to shatter the incoming shards. At the same time, he also spotted the leader's weakness—his black robe.
"Yao, attack his robe!" Li An shouted, charging at the leader at the same time to draw his attention.
Guo Yao, of the Xinlingshen Society, gathered spiritual energy in both hands, shaping it into a dazzling beam of light that shot toward the leader's black robe. The beam pierced the robe, instantly enveloping the leader's body within it, drawing out shriek after shriek of agony.
With the leader's fall, the surrounding tentacles also began to dissolve, and the forest returned to calm once more. Li An and Guo Yao exchanged a smile—they knew they had finally uncovered the truth behind the mysterious power.
"We did it, An." Guo Yao threw her arms around Li An in excitement, tears glimmering in her eyes.
Li An gently patted Guo Yao's back and said softly: "Yes, we did it. But this is only the beginning—there are still more challenges waiting for us."
