Chapter 1012

~3 min read 484 words

The young man noticed Akaso Kaze, stopped, and asked, "Are you here to play tennis???"

Akaso Kaze shook his head: "No, I just happened to get a villa nearby, so I came over to take a look."

"A villa?" the young man said happily, "My home isn't far from here, so that makes us half-neighbors. I'll have to ask for your guidance in the future."

Akaso Kaze's gaze swept over the backpack the young man was carrying, and he asked casually: "Are you here to play tennis too?"

"I am the tennis coach here."

The young man looked at the tennis court with a hint of bitterness, paused, and invited him: "Would you like to come to my place for a sit-down? I could teach you tennis, and it would be easy to come over and play when you have time later."

"No thanks," Akaso Kaze shook his head, "I have other things to do."

"Is that so?" the young man smiled helplessly, "Then it can't be helped. If it doesn't rain tomorrow, I should be coming over as well."

"Akaso-san?!"

A familiar voice suddenly came from afar. Kaze turned his head to look, and it was actually the Mouri family and Sonoko.

"Why are you all here?" Akaso Kaze asked.

Sonoko said: "My family's villa is nearby. Ran wanted to play tennis, so we came over to play together. Akaso-san, what about you?"

"?? Someone gave me a villa around here, so I just came to take a look."

"A-a villa?"

Uncle Mouri looked at Akaso Kaze as if he had seen a ghost: "Someone gave you a villa?!"

"Yes," Akaso Kaze smiled slightly, "It's a pity the villa hasn't been renovated yet, otherwise I would have invited you all over to sit for a while."

"Perfect, Akaso-san. Since it's still early, let's go fishing by the river. Let's have a hearty fish dinner tonight."

Uncle Mouri invited him enthusiastically.

On the riverbank of the levee, Mouri Kogoro began to prepare for fishing.

"Hey, just watch," Uncle Mouri said confidently, "Wait for me to catch a bunch of fat sweetfish!"

"That..." Conan stood behind, smiling stiffly while holding an umbrella to shield himself from the rain.

Turning his head to look, Akaso Kaze was chatting and laughing with Ran and Sonoko, and Conan suddenly felt miserable.

"Ah, Uncle Mouri," Conan gave a light call, "your float has been washed away!"

"I know."

Mouri Kogoro looked at the fishing line he had just thrown back into the water, feeling a headache.

What's going on? Is fishing really this hard?

"Didn't you notice the water level in the river has surged? Who on earth suggested coming fishing in this kind of weather?" Kaze asked.

"It was Dad, of course. We originally wanted to play tennis," Ran said.

"Uncle," Conan noticed Mouri Kogoro's fishing line suddenly tighten and hurriedly reminded him, "It looks like you've caught something!"
