Chapter 595: The Descent of Chiyou

~7 min read 1,238 words

The voice of Chiyou echoed in the massive underground space, carrying a metallic quality tinged with a strange vitality, as if an ancient deity were awakening from a deep slumber.

"This... what kind of monster is this?" the old general muttered to himself, his voice hoarse from shock.

Li Mingyuan's voice transmitted through Chiyou's external speakers: "Gentlemen, welcome to the viewing of 'Doomsday Mecha Chiyou', the Long Country's highest-classified weapon system. Since you are all here, why not witness its capabilities?"

Before anyone could respond, the armor on Chiyou's chest slowly parted, revealing the fusion Hexin flickering with blue light inside. That mass of plasma, compressed to the extreme, was like a trapped Micro Sun, radiating energy fluctuations that made one's heart tremble.

"A miniaturized 'Yanlong-II' fusion reactor," Li Mingyuan explained, "its output power is equivalent to the sum of five large nuclear power plants, yet its volume is only the size of an ordinary car."

Minister Zhang gasped: "How is this possible..."

"Conventional physics tells us this is impossible," Li Mingyuan's voice carried a hint of triumph, "but Quantum Constraint Technology has made it a reality. Now, please observe the basic mobility demonstration."

As his words fell, the energy veins across Chiyou's body suddenly increased in brightness, shifting from deep blue to incandescent white. A low humming sound arose, and the floor of the entire workshop began to vibrate slightly.

"Anti-Gravity System, activate."

That hundred-meter-tall steel giant, a behemoth weighing thousands of tons, began to slowly lift off the ground. At first, it was only a few centimeters, then several dozen, and finally, it actually hovered at a height of one meter above the ground, remaining there steadily.

The workshop fell into a deathly silence; everyone stared with wide eyes, their breathing almost coming to a halt. This completely overturned their understanding of physics.

"My God..." a high-ranking official from the Military covered his mouth with his hand, "this defies Newton's laws..."

Li Mingyuan chuckled: "Newton's laws apply to the realm of classical physics, but in the quantum realm, the rules are different. Next is the movement system demonstration."

Chiyou slowly lifted one leg, its movements precise and fluid, not at all like mechanical motion, but rather like the Nature movements of some massive creature. It took a step, and the entire workshop shook. Another step followed, even more fluid, with almost no vibration.

"The Neural Link System allows me to control every one of its joints directly with my thoughts, just as if I were controlling my own body," Li Mingyuan explained, "theoretically, it can perform any action a human can, just on a larger scale."

Chiyou raised its arms, assumed a simple fighting stance, and then suddenly accelerated, spinning in place once. The movement was impossibly fast, and the resulting airflow sent light equipment in the workshop flying everywhere.

"Its reaction speed is twelve times that of an ordinary person," Li Mingyuan said, "even the most elite special forces soldiers would appear incredibly slow before it."

Before the group had recovered from their shock, the armor on Chiyou's arms suddenly parted, revealing the complex weapon systems within.

"Weapon systems, online."

The device on Chiyou's right arm emitted a hum, and a mass of blue-white plasma condensed in its palm, radiating energy fluctuations that chilled the bone.

"High-energy Plasma Cutting Cannon," Li Mingyuan introduced, "the temperature can reach five times that of the Taiyang's surface, capable of instantly vaporizing any known material."

With a thought, Li Mingyuan aimed the palm at a test target prepared in the corner of the workshop—a two-meter-thick plate of Special Alloy. The plasma mass in the palm suddenly fired a thin beam of energy; the moment it struck the alloy plate, the entire piece of metal seemed to be torn apart by an invisible, immense force, neatly split in two from the middle, with the edges of the cut showing signs of melting.

The entire process took less than a tenth of a second.

"My God..." the old general's legs went weak, and he nearly collapsed to the ground before being supported by a young officer beside him, "this... this is not a weapon, this is a world-ending entity..."

Li Mingyuan's voice remained calm: "Modern warfare is no longer won by numbers, but by technological superiority. Chiyou can face the entire firepower of a mechanized division single-handedly and remain unscathed."

Before he finished speaking, the armor on Chiyou's left arm parted, revealing rows of circular devices flickering with blue light.

"Quantum Shield Generator," Li Mingyuan said, "it can generate an energy barrier around Chiyou, sufficient to withstand any conventional weapon attack short of a direct nuclear strike."

The moment the shield activated, a translucent blue light curtain rippled over Chiyou's body, flowing like water. A remote-controlled target drone was launched from the top of the workshop and flew toward Chiyou; the moment it touched the shield, it seemed to strike a hard wall and shattered into pieces.

"But this is not the most terrifying part," Li Mingyuan's voice suddenly turned serious, "the true trump card is this—"

The armor on Chiyou's back opened, and a massive turret slowly rose, the muzzle glowing with a cold, deep blue light.

"Electromagnetic Railgun," Li Mingyuan said calmly, "it utilizes a superconducting electromagnetic field to accelerate specialized projectiles, with an initial velocity reaching Mach 15 and a theoretical range exceeding 100 kilometers. It can easily pierce any known armor in the world today, including the most advanced warships."

"Is this kind of weapon... really something humans can build?" a young officer asked, his voice trembling.

Li Mingyuan did not answer directly, instead saying: "We live in a world where the strong make the rules. When Western nations aim nuclear warheads at our cities, what we need is not weak pleas, but the power to make the other side feel fear. Chiyou is that power."

Chiyou's single eye flickered, and the turret slowly retracted. Li Mingyuan controlled the steel giant to perform a chilling action—it slowly bent down, its single eye staring directly at the high-ranking Military officials standing on the ground, like a giant from mythology looking down at ants.

"Longxin-IV Quantum AI System," Li Mingyuan's voice came from Chiyou's "head", "it can calculate optimal tactical plans at a nanosecond level while possessing autonomous learning capabilities. Simply put, it grows stronger the more it fights, and it will never feel fatigue or fear."

Minister Zhang swallowed hard: "Lao Li, this thing... is it safe? I mean, if it loses control..."

"It will not lose control," Li Mingyuan said decisively, "the Neural Link System ensures it only acts according to my will. Furthermore, its core programming contains three iron laws: first, it will never harm Long Country citizens; second, it must obey the orders of the Long Country's highest leadership; third, it must protect the core interests of the Long Country from infringement."

Chiyou stood upright again, and the low engine hum gradually subsided. Li Mingyuan controlled it to walk back to its original position, each step of the steel giant causing the floor to vibrate slightly.

"The demonstration ends here," he announced, "Chiyou will be our country's ultimate Shield, and also its ultimate sword when necessary."

The hatch opened, and Li Mingyuan stepped out of the cockpit as the neural probes automatically retracted. His face was slightly pale, and his forehead was covered in beads of sweat, but his eyes shone with an irrepressible excitement.
