Chapter 101: Creator

The scorching pain gradually faded, and the redness on the girl's skin, like that of something boiled, faded away.
The bright red, winding bloodstain was especially glaring on the girl's porcelain-white face, as if shattering a porcelain doll, causing even the sentinel accustomed to seeing blood to involuntarily tremble.
Xi Guang leaned forward, the tall man's body inclining, his shadow falling over the indifferent girl; he placed one hand behind Fu Guang's head to support it, and with the other gently wiped away the blood trickling from the corner of her mouth.
His rough fingertips scraped her lips; Fu Guang opened her round eyes and looked at the sentinel, coughing and spitting out another mouthful of bright red blood.
"Don't scare me." Lan'an's tail twitched slightly and quickly, his ear fins flickered, his voice like dry leaves falling from an autumn branch—dry and fragmented, as if about to be drowned in the sound of waves.
"I feel fine right now." The girl said while bright red blood seeped from her mouth and nose, looking anything but as relaxed as she claimed.
Xi Guang's hands were already full of Fu Guang's bright red blood; as his hands swayed, he felt as if he were cradling a bloody full moon.
"Really, Lan'an, blow me a smaller bubble." Fu Guang blinked, feeling as if her eyelashes were sticking together, a little damp.
Lan'an didn't know what the king wanted, but still obeyed her words, blowing a spherical bubble and handing it to Fu Guang.
Fu Guang used her mental power to move all the bright red blood overflowing from her body into this bubble, which soon occupied one-quarter of the bubble's volume.
"Don't speak." Xi Guang's voice was coarse and hoarse; the girl before him seemed to have fallen into a blood vat, every part of her red, layer upon layer, blood threads linking that bubble, which was about to fill up.
Even his trousers were stained with that vivid color. Fu Guang gazed for a moment, her blood-red fingertips resting on his trouser cuff; a thread-like water elemental force drew the bloodstain from his pants and merged it into a second bubble.
This is all her blood; it must not be wasted.
Fu Guang wanted to close her eyes to seriously sense her internal state, but her eyelids were held up by Lan'an's fingernail tips.
"Don't close your eyes." Lan'an's voice was frail, his spirit stretched to the limit.
Fu Guang turned her dry eyeballs, sinking her mental power into her dantian, where a blue pill resided.
Hasn't it been refined?
Fu Guang's mental power felt doubtful; she had thought that bleeding from the seven orifices now meant failure.
Her mental power circled the pill; the blue pill spun on its own, sending waves of medicinal power rippling through her body.
Fu Guang stared, a bit entranced; she had never refined medicine within her own body, but in fact her cultivation path was alchemy—refining a great medicine from human essence; if done inside the body, any conflict would be unpleasant.
Thus this was her first time seeing the result of alchemy performed within a human body; her consciousness touched the blue light on her bones.
In the cultivation world, medicines that restore the sea of consciousness are also suited to restoring interstellar realms, to restoring the mental landscape—just a few ingredients can be swapped. Fu Guang glanced at her own mental landscape, slowly woven with mental threads, and thought silently.
Fantastic beasts and demonic beasts are similar yet not identical; following the old formula, the medicinal effect isn't perfect and can be fine-tuned.
The girl seemed lost in thought, staring unblinking at a spot, which instead frightened the two of them.
Xi Guang called Fu Guang's name in the contract, which allowed the girl, immersed in the drug's power and automatically shielding herself from the outside world, to briefly perceive the external.
Her lips moved; the scab on her lips was blown away by the flowing seawater, and Fu Guang's gaze shifted as her mental power spread over it and obliterated it.
"All blood that leaves my body must be destroyed; I entrust it to you."
Fu Guang tossed a tiny blue seed into the bubble; the seed quickly split, sprouted branches, budded, and the blue flower in the small blood pool unfurled its petals, with the blood in the pool rapidly flowing into the little blue flower.
"Mother." The little blue flower's voice was exceptionally weak, yet not feeble; it seemed merely unwilling to disturb Fu Guang.
Myriad blue flowers are a single plant; its consciousness can flow freely among them, residing in whichever flower is nearest to the mother.
Fu Guang watched the little blue flower grow wildly in the blood pool; the blood obscured the girl's expression, which the flower feared most, as it gazed at Fu Guang's face and, with its feeble mental threads, hooked her right pinky.
It called weakly, as if seeking the mother's pity: "Mother."
It seemed that whether beast or animal, tangible or intangible, growth always depends on the mother's "flesh and blood."
Fu Guang momentarily drifted; though she didn't dwell on her fleeting thoughts, it reminded her of her mother, so far away that she had long forgotten, yet she still remembered her mother's hands were warm.
But she knew why the little blue flower was uneasy—she was its "mother."
What does mother mean? The one who gives you life, but also the one who can take it away.
In the customs of wild beasts, the mother kills the weakest offspring, for it lacks the ability to survive.
Though their bloodlines are closely linked, the little blue flower is uncertain whether the mother would abandon it for sucking her blood, yet this is what the mother demands, and it must comply.
Sucking the mother's blood is heinous, usurping; it would harm the mother's health, weakening her, so it never proposed this suggestion that could swiftly restore its condition.
"This is what I allow; now there's no need to worry." Fu Guang soothed the trembling little blue flower, whose blossoms looked wilted.
If not to avoid wasting this blood, she would not have given it to the flower so early, lest it mistake this as normal before learning her rules, which would be a pity.
Hope it has no human desires or ambitions, so it does not regard her as a mother to be taken from at will; otherwise.......
Fu Guang's thoughts turned cold for a moment, as before.
"Understood, mother." The little blue flower no longer hesitated, knowing the mother's words were absolutely trustworthy.
"What a good child." Fu Guang reached out and gently brushed the little blue flower's branches and leaves, not hiding her coldness.
Let it realize early that its "mother" is not merciful; perhaps that's for the best, so it harbors no unnecessary expectations, for she will not respond.
Fu Guang thought, then told the little blue flower, "Perhaps you may also call me 'Your Majesty'."
The little blue flower before her shuddered violently, as if struck by a great blow, and for the first time expressed its thoughts before Fu Guang.
"I still want to call you 'Mother,' may I?" The words trailed off almost to silence, as if all courage had been lost.
Fu Guang fell silent for a moment, then replied, "As you wish."
