Chapter 32: Outsiders of Power
Yu State, within the Yunmang Chaos Region.
Deep within an ancient mountain range, a tribe lived and thrived here—but now, the tribal settlement was utterly silent, its tens of thousands of beings lying motionless.
Suddenly—
A wisp of energy floated out from each of these tens of thousands of beings; the tens of thousands of wisps merged into a single figure clad in gray robes, his face entirely concealed by his garment.
“The minds of these tens of thousands are too weak—my bloodline devoured their consciousness without a single reaction,” the gray-robed figure shook his head lightly. “Even if I devoured a hundred million such weak gods, it would barely help me.”
“I still need precious resources—if I could absorb the essence-blood of a Chaos-class beast, the benefit would be far greater,” the gray-robed figure thought.
“To attain Chaos Dominance through the bloodline path is exceedingly difficult.”
The bloodline path is easy in the early stages, but the later stages demand ever greater resources. On the entire Origin Continent, the absolute limit of bloodline cultivation is the ‘Chaos Dominance Realm.’ To break through to Chaos Dominance, one must overcome countless thresholds.
“Hmm?” The gray-robed figure flipped his hand and retrieved a Causation Message Token. He was not worried about being tracked—Chaos Dominators, far above him, had no interest in him at all; and Eternal Gods?
In his view, Eternal Gods were all his prey!
“Huyang City in the Jiujang Chaos Region—Luohe? He killed the leader of a dark faction in Huyang City, ‘Blood Serpent Guild Chairman Mu Yang,’ and possesses at least two mechanical artifacts, worth possibly over six million cosmic sands?” The gray-robed figure’s interest stirred.
“When it comes to ambush and assassination, few Eternal Gods can survive my hands,” the gray-robed figure was confident.
He had traversed countless Chaos Regions and possessed rich experience battling powerful foes.
“I’ll go to Huyang City. Once there, I’ll check the details of Luohe at the Yanfeng Inn, then devise an ambush plan.” The gray-robed figure moved—and vanished, fully merging with the heavens and earth.
He was now hurtling across vast stretches of void at terrifying speed, heading straight for Huyang City in the Jiujang Chaos Region.
In the region he had just left, the tens of thousands of lying beings remained silent and motionless—their bodies completely disintegrated.
Many tribal folk in the wilds longed to live in large cities precisely because, out in the wild, disaster could strike at any moment.
A single passing monstrous beast could swallow an entire tribe in one bite.
A passing Eternal God, seeking to cultivate, seeking wealth, or merely seeking to vent his rage, might wipe out a tribe with a mere flick of his hand.
Only by residing within a city could one secure stable life.
Huyang City.
“Entropy, free time? I’m treating you to the Fire Realm Eatery.” Luo Feng contacted Shentianyan.
“Luohe Brother treating me? Countless Eternal Gods in Huyang City would beg for such an honor—I’ve got time! I’m leaving right now!” Shentianyan replied via message.
“Haha, good. See you at the Fire Realm Eatery.” Luo Feng loved Shentianyan’s straightforward nature.
After agreeing, Luo Feng immediately set out with Mo Luo Sa and Mo Yu Qingyan.
Inside a flying vessel.
Mo Luo Sa said beside him: “Master, Shentianyan is just an ordinary Eternal God. Why treat him with such respect?”
In Mo Luo Sa’s view, his master Luo Feng—who could enslave realm beasts and possessed a perfect divine body—was a genius among geniuses; ordinary Eternal Gods were beneath his notice.
“Making friends isn’t just about strength,” Luo Feng said.
“Is that so?” Mo Luo Sa didn’t understand. To him, ordinary Eternal Gods were merely food.
“Besides, when I interact with Entropy Brother, it’s actually I who need him,” Luo Feng said. “I often ask him about forging techniques—he gives me full, unreserved guidance.”
Mo Luo Sa said: “Master asking him for help is his greatest fortune.”
Mo Yu Qingyan, listening nearby, dared not interject.
Sometimes he found it strange: his master was immensely powerful, yet his servant, Luo Sashen, was merely a Void God—and spoke so casually.
“Master is too benevolent to tolerate Luo Sashen’s impudence,” Mo Yu Qingyan thought silently—he dared not show even the slightest disrespect.
“Qingyan,” Luo Feng spoke.
“Master,” Mo Yu Qingyan replied with utmost reverence.
“I heard from Mo Li Meng that your father, Mo Yu Hu, has taken a position in the City Lord’s Mansion?” Luo Feng asked.
Mo Yu Qingyan said: “Father instructed me to thank you once you emerged from seclusion. I’ve been looking for a chance to mention this.”
“Thank me? Mo Yu Hu is quite courteous,” Luo Feng nodded.
“Father devoted himself entirely to my three brothers. When I was fortunate enough to follow Master, he went to great lengths to send my eldest brother to the Zhu Clan and my third brother to Tianyan Gate.”
“After Master killed the Blood Serpent Guild Chairman, Father was recruited into the City Lord’s Mansion. My eldest brother, within the Zhu Clan, rose instantly—he was taken as a disciple by an Eternal God, ‘Zhu You.’” Mo Yu Qingyan said.
Luo Feng was surprised: “Zhu You of the Zhu Clan took your eldest brother as a disciple?”
“Yes,” Mo Yu Qingyan nodded. “Father said both the City Lord’s Mansion and the Zhu Clan likely wished to befriend Master. But in all of Huyang City, few have ties to you—so they showed favor to Father and my brothers.”
Luo Feng smiled. Indeed, he had only two servants: Mo Luo Sa and Mo Yu Qingyan.
All factions could only approach through the Mo family—and thus the Mo family’s fortune had changed dramatically.
“What about your third brother?” Luo Feng asked.
“My third brother is still learning the basics at Tianyan Gate,” Mo Yu Qingyan said. “Tianyan Gate’s forging techniques demand strict discipline—you must learn step by step from the foundation.”
Luo Feng nodded: “Your father chose well. Tianyan Gate has a fine reputation, and its head, Shentianyan, is my friend. The Zhu Clan is Huyang City’s foremost native family. He sent one son to Tianyan Gate and another to the Zhu Clan—his intentions were deep.”
The five major families of the City Lord’s Mansion were not native families.
They were either branches of Divine King clans or branches of Chaos Dominator clans.
The only truly native family rooted in Huyang City, having grown and thrived here over generations, was the Zhu Clan. The Zhu Clan conducted business honestly, avoided dark factions, yet possessed immense strength.
In Huyang City, few could kill the Blood Serpent Guild Chairman—but Zhu Gu, head of the Zhu Clan, was one of them!
In raw power, none of the five major families could claim superiority over the Zhu Clan. But in terms of background, the five families had far greater connections—they could summon terrifying forces at any moment.
!.
“Father truly went to great lengths for my three brothers. But Father’s entry into the City Lord’s Mansion and my eldest brother’s adoption by an Eternal God—all are thanks to Master,” Mo Yu Qingyan said gratefully.
“If you want to thank me, master the Ten Fundamental Laws as soon as possible,” Luo Feng said.
“Yes,” Mo Yu Qingyan knew well—he had encountered a tremendous opportunity, but only if he seized it!
Mastering the Ten Fundamental Laws was the first trial for discipleship. He devoted over ninety percent of his time daily to comprehending the Laws, never slackening. He even tried to charm ‘Luo Sashen’ into offering a few pointers.
…
Fire Realm Eatery.
“Your Excellency!” Hei Tufu greeted with great excitement—he had long sensed the rumor spreading: that Luohe had killed the Blood Serpent Guild Chairman.
Hei Tufu ran an eatery and had excellent connections—he had heard the news.
Moreover, the Blood Serpent Guild’s headquarters had been reduced to ruins, and merchants who paid tribute fees had been buzzing about it for days.
“Haha…” Luo Feng, watching Hei Tufu’s excitement, teased: “Hei Tufu, did the Blood Serpent Guild cancel your tribute fee?”
“The Blood Serpent Guild is gone—so the tribute fee is gone too,” Hei Tufu said gratefully. “And the two other dark factions vying for the Blood Serpent Guild’s territory both came to me—they’ve promised to waive my tribute fees permanently.”
“The two dark factions vying for the territory? Which ones?” Luo Feng asked curiously.
“One is Qianshan Tower, the other is Liu Jun Alliance. But both treat my Fire Realm Eatery with great kindness,” Hei Tufu said gratefully. “I know it’s all because of Your Excellency.”
Luo Feng smiled faintly: “They’re quite sensible.”
“They fear you’ll wipe them out if they collect tribute,” Shentianyan stepped out from a nearby pavilion. “Luohe Brother, you’re even slower than me at showing up for a meal.”
“I came as fast as I could,” Luo Feng laughed as he walked over. “Hei Tufu, prepare plenty of food and drink—put real effort into it.”
“I’ll give it my all!” Hei Tufu said with renewed vigor.
Luo Feng and Shentianyan entered the pavilion together.
“You must feel how many factions in Huyang City are circling you,” Shentianyan smiled. “Huyang City seems full of powerful beings, but ultimately, only the strongest determine everything. Now, you’re one of them—crucially, you have no family ties! Many factions want to court you, and they’re willing to pay dearly.”
“Want to court me? I’m not interested in ordinary offers,” Luo Feng poured wine for Shentianyan himself. “Here—drink.”
“Luohe Brother pouring wine for me? Few have the privilege to taste it,” Shentianyan lifted his cup with delight.
After drinking one cup, Shentianyan glanced outside in surprise.
Mo Yu Qingyan naturally stood guard outside the pavilion, but Mo Luo Sa sat on a large rock nearby, sipping wine from a flask while instructing the eatery staff to prepare more food.
“Your servant is quite casual,” Shentianyan remarked.
“He’s been with me since I was a True God. He’s more like a brother than a servant,” Luo Feng said. “By the way, I invited you today because I have some questions about body refinement.”
“Body refinement is just a branch of forging—ask away,” Shentianyan said, brimming with confidence when it came to forging.
One asked, one answered.
Luo Feng asked about his confusion regarding the secondary refinement of the “Chaos Great Strength Diagram,” and Shentianyan explained it effortlessly, clarifying the points from multiple angles—Luo Feng’s mind cleared instantly.
