Chapter 118: Terrifying Mirror, Facing Inner Fears Head-On!
"So fast!" Lina widened her eyes, her face full of amazement.
The monster was struck down by a sword slash from Su Qiu, letting out a shrill roar; its massive body collapsed with a boom, and the ground trembled slightly in its wake.
However, just as they all breathed a sigh of relief, the monster's corpse began to deform rapidly, twisting and melting into a pool of black liquid, which then slowly coalesced into a smooth mirror.
The surface of the mirror shimmered with a Guiyi light, as if beckoning people to come closer.
"W-what is going on?" Lina's eyes were full of confusion; she took a step closer, her gaze deeply captivated by the mirror.
Jiude Mai grabbed tightly onto the corner of Lina's clothes, her voice laced with fear: "That mirror is so strange... shouldn't we stay away from it?"
Ling Qiu stood where she was, her gaze locked onto the mirror; although her expression remained cold, her eyes betrayed a hint of unease.
"There is something wrong with this mirror, don't act rashly!" Su Qiu warned with a frown, gripping his sword tighter.
However, before he could finish his sentence, Lina had already been unable to resist approaching the mirror; her eyes grew dazed, as if she had been deeply drawn in by something.
"Is this... is this my home?" Lina suddenly muttered to herself, tears welling up in her eyes, her voice filled with shock and nostalgia.
Seeing that the situation was wrong, Su Qiu immediately shouted: "Come back! Don't look!"
But Lina was already completely entranced by the mirror; her eyes were fixed on the glass surface as if she had seen something of extreme importance, and she had fallen into a state of bewilderment, as if she had forgotten where she was.
"This is the home I miss the most... my parents... I finally see them again..." Lina's voice grew lower and lower, tears streaming down her cheeks as she knelt helplessly on the ground.
Su Qiu's brows were tightly locked; just as he was about to step forward to stop her, Jiude Mai also began walking toward the mirror step by step.
Her face was full of terror as she muttered to herself: "This... this is the nightmare from my childhood... those monsters... they've come back... they're coming to catch me..."
Her eyes were filled with fear, and her body began to tremble, as if she had returned to some extremely terrifying memory, leaving her looking incredibly fragile.
"Don't look! Come back quickly!" Su Qiu shouted loudly once again.
But Jiude Mai did not listen at all; her body kept trembling, and her gaze remained fixed on the mirror, seemingly completely controlled by the terrifying scene unfolding within it.
"How is it possible... how could I be back at that time..." Ling Qiu was no longer calm either; her gaze was deeply drawn to the mirror, and her face turned pale: "I already escaped, why must you make me see all of this again..."
Su Qiu looked at the people before him, all of them trapped in the mirror's illusions, having completely lost their combat effectiveness and unable to pull themselves away.
"What a bunch of trouble!" Su Qiu snorted coldly, his gaze filled with disdain.
He walked toward the mirror step by step, his face wearing undisguised contempt.
"You think you can bewitch me with these petty tricks?"
Su Qiu didn't even look at the mirror, completely ignoring the Guiyi scene displayed on its surface.
He stepped forward, swung his sword in a full arc without hesitation, and slashed down fiercely.
"Bang—"
Accompanied by a loud crash, the mirror shattered on impact, turning into countless tiny shards that fell to the ground.
Those Guiyi lights vanished instantly, and the illusions within the mirror shattered along with it.
Lina suddenly snapped out of it, looking around blankly: "Just now... just now I... what happened?"
Jiude Mai remained slumped on the ground, the terror on her face yet to dissipate: "Just now... was that an illusion?"
Ling Qiu also slowly stood up, her expression complex: "I saw the thing I fear most..."
Su Qiu glanced at them, his tone cold: "You were all controlled by that mirror and nearly lost your lives.
Don't be easily misled by things like this in the future, or there might be no one to save you next time!"
Lina looked at Su Qiu with an apologetic face, her voice full of self-reproach: "I'm sorry, Master Su Qiu, just now I really... I don't know what happened, it was... it was like I was being sucked in..."
Jiude Mai also said tremblingly: "Yes, I... I thought I had returned to the nightmare of my childhood, it was too terrifying..."
Ling Qiu was silent for a moment, then said coldly: "It was my carelessness!"
Su Qiu waved his hand lightly, his tone indifferent: "The things in this place are getting more and more Guiyi, everyone needs to be more careful.
Don't be so easily bewitched next time!"
【Master Su is truly cool this time, all the women were bewitched, and Master Su just treated it with disdain!】
【Hahaha, Master Su completely ignored the illusion in the mirror, full marks for this display of dominance!】
【Lina and Mai must be completely won over by Master Su now, Master Su is truly a man among men!】
【Ling Qiu was about to break down just now, and Master Su saved her with a single sentence, too awesome!】
Lina's eyes were full of admiration: "Master Su Qiu, how did you do it? Why were you not affected by the mirror at all? You are truly amazing!"
Su Qiu chuckled, his tone relaxed: "You think these petty tricks can fool me? Not that easy!"
Jiude Mai looked at him, her eyes full of awe: "You really are the most amazing person I have ever met... If you hadn't acted just now, we might have been trapped in that mirror forever..."
Ling Qiu gave him a cold look; although she didn't speak, there was a bit more admiration in her eyes.
"Alright, enough talk!" Su Qiu waved his hand and walked in front: "Let's hurry up and keep moving, don't waste any more time!"
The women hurriedly followed Su Qiu and continued forward.
Although they had just experienced a terrifying illusion, they trusted Su Qiu even more now, feeling that as long as they followed him, there would be no problems.
Along the way, everyone's footsteps became extra cautious, fearing they might encounter another Guiyi trap like the one before.
"Master Su Qiu, what will we encounter next?" Lina asked cautiously, clearly not having fully emerged from the fear of just a moment ago.
Su Qiu shook his head lightly: "I don't know, but no matter what it is, we have to keep moving forward, we can't stop!"
"Right, stopping is even more dangerous!" Ling Qiu said coldly, following behind him: "Only by walking on can we find the exit!"
【Master Su is truly steady as a rock, he really lives up to being the Fated One!】
【Lina and Mai are completely submissive to Master Su now, hahaha!】
【Ling Qiu is stubborn, but she's convinced now too, right? Master Su is truly infallible!】
【This mirror bewitches the mind and almost got them killed, good thing there's Master Su to solve it with brute force!】
The group followed closely behind Su Qiu, continuing to push forward.
Time passed quietly; Lina, Jiude Mai, and Ling Qiu had long since grown accustomed to following behind Su Qiu, and Su Qiu had completely become their backbone.
Although Su Qiu didn't say anything unnecessary, his aura of remaining calm in the face of danger had long since made them admire him wholeheartedly.
"Where are we going next?" Lina asked in a low voice, her tone carrying a hint of nervousness.
"There is an area ahead that hasn't been explored, let's keep heading that way!" Su Qiu replied simply, his gaze remaining calm.
Jiude Mai stood beside Lina, biting her lip in nervousness, and muttered softly: "I'm just afraid of running into something Guiyi again; that mirror last time... it was too terrifying!"
Lina patted her shoulder and smiled: "Don't be afraid, Big Brother Su Qiu is here, he has never missed a beat!"
"Yeah, I know, it's just scary!" Jiude Mai said in a low voice, her eyes glancing at Su Qiu's back.
Ling Qiu walked at the very end; although she didn't say anything, it was clearly visible that her trust in Su Qiu was growing more and more.
She looked coldly ahead without making a sound.
Under Su Qiu's lead, the group slowly walked into an even more Guiyi area, where the outlines of huge structures could be vaguely seen in the distance, looking like some kind of abandoned Amusement Park facilities.
"What kind of place is that ahead?" Lina frowned, feeling a faint sense of unease in her heart.
Su Qiu looked ahead and said simply: "It looks like a circus."
"The clown we encountered before ran out from here; this place is likely even more troublesome!"
As soon as Lina heard the word "circus," she couldn't help but take a step back: "No way, a circus? That clown last time was already scary enough!"
Jiude Mai was almost about to cry: "No, no, not a circus, I was most afraid of this when I was a child!"
Su Qiu ignored their worries and walked straight ahead: "Enough talk, let's go!"
Lina looked at Jiude Mai and sighed helplessly: "Let's go, don't fall behind, stay close to Big Brother Su Qiu!"
The group approached the abandoned circus grounds step by step, feeling more creeped out the further they went.
The tents ahead were still dilapidated, and some old circus props were scattered on the surrounding open ground; Guiyi wooden horses and tattered cloth dolls lay quietly on the ground.
"This place is a bit too quiet," Lina said in a low voice.
"Mm, it is indeed strange!" Ling Qiu said coldly, her gaze constantly scanning the surroundings.
Su Qiu didn't speak, just walked to the tent entrance and pushed aside the curtain, and the group followed closely inside.
Inside the tent, the atmosphere all around was even more Guiyi; those cloth clown dolls sat quietly on wooden chairs, as if waiting for their arrival.
The central stage was still set with those dilapidated performance props.
"This place... is very similar to the place with that clown last time!" Lina said in a low voice.
"Mm!" Su Qiu nodded and scanned the area: "Be careful, there should be Guiyi things here too!"
Just as the group reached the center of the stage, suddenly, the lights flared brightly, and the cloth clown dolls all around turned their heads simultaneously, staring fixedly at them.
"Welcome to the circus! Today's performance has begun!" A Guiyi voice echoed once again in the empty tent.
Lina was so scared she took a step back and looked at Su Qiu nervously: "What kind of ghost thing is this!?"
Su Qiu frowned and said coldly: "It's their performance!"
Jiude Mai was already too scared to speak, clutching Lina's arm tightly and trembling all over.
"What should we do?" Ling Qiu asked coldly; although her expression remained calm, her eyes revealed a bit of unease.
"Don't rush!" Su Qiu looked around and suddenly smiled: "You all stand here and don't move, I'll go take a look!"
"What are you going to do?" Lina looked worried.
"Rest assured, just watching a show!" Su Qiu said nonchalantly, then strode toward the center of the stage.
The group watched him walk onto the stage, their hearts hanging in suspense. Su Qiu stood in the center of the stage, staring coldly at those Guiyi clown dolls, his three-foot-long blade already gripped tightly, ready to strike at any moment.
The laughter of those clown dolls became increasingly shrill, and the air around them became increasingly oppressive.
Suddenly, one clown doll jumped up from its seat and lunged toward Su Qiu.
"It's coming!" Lina couldn't help but exclaim.
Su Qiu didn't hesitate in the slightest; the sword in his hand slashed out instantly, its speed as fast as lightning, directly splitting the clown doll in two.
"Is that it?" Su Qiu sneered disdainfully and flicked the debris off his sword.
The remaining clown dolls seemed to be enraged; they jumped up from their seats one after another and lunged toward Su Qiu.
"Big Brother Su Qiu, be careful!" Lina couldn't help but shout.
Su Qiu remained incomparably calm; the sword in his hand almost turned into an afterimage, and after a few strikes, all those lunging clown dolls were slashed into fragments.
"Is this your performance?" Su Qiu looked at the fragments with contempt and sheathed his sword.
Lina and Jiude Mai watched, dumbfounded, completely unable to believe their eyes.
"He... he solved all these things by himself?" Lina exclaimed.
"Big Brother Su Qiu... is too amazing!" Jiude Mai's voice was full of admiration.
Ling Qiu said coldly: "This bit of Guiyi is nothing to him!"
Su Qiu walked off the stage, too lazy to pay attention to their surprise, and said faintly: "Let's go, keep moving forward!"
Lina hurried to catch up with him, unable to contain her excitement: "Big Brother Su Qiu, how were you able to solve all those clown dolls so quickly just now? Did you see through their weaknesses a long time ago?"
Su Qiu glanced at her and replied casually: "They didn't have any threat to begin with, they were just some smoke and mirrors!"
Jiude Mai was full of admiration: "As expected, Big Brother Su Qiu is truly a legendary figure among the Heaven-Chosen!"
【Holy crap! Su-god's move just now was simply too cool! Those clowns couldn't contend with Su-god at all!】
【Hahaha, Su-god's act of showing off is so natural, he just slashed the monsters without a word!】
【Lina and Mai are almost obsessed with Su-god, they're probably thinking 'Su-god is invincible' in their hearts right now!】
【Even though Ling Qiu is stubborn, she must be incredibly impressed in her heart, hahaha!】
"Enough talk, keep moving!" Su Qiu said coldly, continuing to lead the group forward.
The group bypassed the ruins of the circus and arrived at an open space in the Amusement Park.
Ahead, the tracks of a dilapidated Roller Coaster could be vaguely seen; the tracks were already rusted, and a strange smell permeated the surrounding air.
"Where are we going now?" Lina asked in a low voice, still feeling somewhat nervous.
"Over to the Roller Coaster!" Su Qiu looked at the tracks in the distance and said faintly.
Several people walked step by step toward the direction of the Roller Coaster; as they approached, a strange sound suddenly came from the Roller Coaster's tracks, as if something was starting up.
"That Roller Coaster is moving!" Jiude Mai said nervously, her eyes fixed tightly on the tracks ahead.
Sure enough, the carriages on the Roller Coaster tracks began to climb slowly, emitting a "creak-creak" sound, as if welcoming their arrival.
"It's waiting for us!" Su Qiu sneered, pointing casually: "Get on!"
Lina was a bit scared: "Are we... really going to sit on this? This thing looks too dangerous."
Jiude Mai also hurriedly said: "Yeah, yeah, I don't want to ride this kind of thing, could there be some trap?"
Su Qiu ignored them, walked straight to the side of the carriage, and pulled the door open: "How about you just wait here yourselves?"
Lina and Jiude Mai looked at each other, sighed helplessly, and in the end, bit the bullet and followed him up.
"Let's go, anyway, following Big Brother Su Qiu, nothing should happen!" Lina whispered.
"Mm, I believe in Big Brother Su Qiu!" Jiude Mai nodded and followed closely behind.
Ling Qiu, however, had no reaction; she walked over coldly and sat directly into the carriage.
The few of them all sat on the Roller Coaster; Su Qiu pressed a switch lightly, and the carriage began to climb slowly, accompanied by a Guiyi creaking sound, and the carriage gradually accelerated.
"Where are we going?" Lina asked nervously.
"Don't know!" Su Qiu replied simply, his gaze looking coldly ahead.
The carriage went faster and faster, and the tracks became steeper and steeper, as if to lead them into an unknown abyss.
Suddenly, a pitch-black tunnel appeared at the end of the tracks ahead, and a low, deep laughter vaguely came from within the tunnel.
"What is in front?" Jiude Mai was so nervous she was about to cry.
"Don't rush, wait and see!" Su Qiu remained incomparably calm.
The carriage rushed into the tunnel at high speed, and the surroundings instantly fell into darkness, with only that Guiyi laughter echoing in their ears.
【Where is God Su going? Feels like there's a big pit in the Roller Coaster!】
【Sister Mai is almost scared to tears, hahaha, Lina is also incredibly nervous!】
【Ling Qiu is quite calm, though I reckon she's a bit shaky inside too!】
【God Su must have seen through everything long ago, waiting quietly for God Su to act cool!】
The carriage rushed into that pitch-black tunnel at high speed, the surrounding scenery instantly vanished, and only the whistling wind and that hair-raising laughter remained in their ears; the entire carriage shook violently, as if deliberately creating a sense of thrill.
"I feel like this car is going to fall apart!" Lina grabbed the handrail nervously and shouted, her voice full of fear.
"Where on earth is this carriage taking us?" Jiude Mai's voice was laced with a sob, her whole body curled up in the seat, not daring to look forward at all.
"Shut up, wait!" Su Qiu remained calm, his gaze not wavering in the slightest, staring into the darkness ahead as if he had already seen through everything.
The carriage suddenly shook violently, as if it had hit something, and then began to plummet rapidly; the few of them only felt a strong sense of weightlessness, as if falling directly from a great height.
"Ahhh! We're going to fall!" Lina screamed, her whole body pressed tightly against the seat.
"No way! We aren't going to fall to our deaths, are we?!" Jiude Mai also broke down, her voice trembling violently.
Su Qiu remained calm, as if all of this was under his control; he just said coldly: "What are you afraid of? Sit tight!"
The carriage continued to plummet at high speed, the surrounding darkness growing thicker, as if this fall had no end.
Lina and Jiude Mai were almost in despair, only able to grab the handrails tightly, not daring to make any movements.
"What—what is going on? This drop is way too deep!" Lina gritted her teeth, her face deathly pale.
"I don't know either, Big Brother Su Qiu, we won't be okay, will we?" Jiude Mai's voice was shaking.
Su Qiu did not answer, only glanced faintly at the front of the carriage, then sneered coldly: "Almost there!"
"What's almost there?" Lina asked, puzzled, clearly not understanding his meaning.
"We're here!" Su Qiu replied simply.
As soon as he finished speaking, the carriage jolted violently and then came to a stop.
The surrounding darkness began to dissipate, and the scenery around them gradually emerged.
"This—what is this place?" Lina looked around, her eyes full of surprise.
Their carriage had stopped in a strange underground space; all around were stone walls and Guiyi reliefs, and tattered circus props hung on the walls.
The entire space exuded a cold, gloomy aura, as if it were a forgotten place.
"Is this the End Point of the Roller Coaster?" Jiude Mai looked puzzled.
"Looks like it!" Su Qiu nodded and pulled the carriage door open: "Get off!"
The few of them carefully stepped off the carriage and stood in this cold, gloomy underground space, all feeling a trace of unease in their hearts.
"This place is truly too Guiyi..." Lina whispered, moving closer to Su Qiu nervously.
"Mm, there is definitely a problem here!" Ling Qiu said coldly, her gaze fixed tightly on the surroundings.
Su Qiu glanced around and said faintly: "No matter what the problem is, it must be dealt with, follow me!"
He led the others toward an iron gate in front; an old lock hung on the iron gate, covered in rust, as if no one had touched it for a long time.
"There must be something inside!" Lina said nervously.
"Correct!" Su Qiu nodded and patted the iron gate: "This door is very heavy, it seems there is something important inside!"
"Then what do we do? Are we going in?" Jiude Mai's voice was trembling slightly; clearly, she was full of fear for the unknown.
"Enter!" Su Qiu answered simply, pulling out his three-foot green peak, and slashed violently at the iron lock.
The iron lock emitted a harsh metallic sound, then snapped in response, and the iron gate slowly opened.
Behind the door was a dim corridor, with a few flickering lights hanging in the corridor, unable to illuminate the scene in the distance.
"Let's go in, don't waste time!" Su Qiu said coldly, taking the lead into the corridor.
The others followed behind him, walking nervously into that dim corridor.
The walls on both sides of the corridor were covered with strange paintings, each one seeming to tell some kind of Guiyi story; the expressions of the figures in the paintings were twisted, their eyes filled with endless pain.
"These paintings are too terrifying..." Lina couldn't help but whisper, her whole person appearing somewhat uneasy.
"Don't look at these things, focus on walking!" Su Qiu said coldly, his gaze still fixed ahead.
"But... these paintings look like they are trying to tell us something..." Jiude Mai muttered softly.
"Tell you what? Tell you to leave sooner!" Su Qiu laughed disdainfully and continued walking forward.
