Chapter 67: Don't Let Things Get Too Deadlocked with Jiang Feng!
At the Li Family Manor, Li Kun was meeting with Yang Wencheng.
"How's the matter coming along?"
"It's done!"
Yang Wencheng replied with a smile.
"I gave them three days to move their stuff; then we can take over Jishi Hall, merge it with Renxin Hall, and from then on the Traditional Medicine Hall in Jiangcheng will be under Li family's control!"
Li Kun lightly tapped the tabletop with his fingertips.
"I trust your handling of things. However…"
He shifted his tone and looked up at Yang Wencheng.
"When it comes to Jiang Feng's side, don't let things get too tense."
"We've both seen Jiang Feng's medical skill. My back, which dozens of doctors couldn't cure, was fixed by his three silver needles. If someone like him can be put to use, that's exactly what the Li family needs."
He paused, seeming to sense Yang Wencheng's resentment, and continued.
"So if Jiang Feng is willing to back down later, you must give him face. Winning him over is far better than forcing him into opposition."
Yang Wencheng felt his anger flare up inside.
He had barely managed to get Ji Shi Tang, only to be told by Li Kun that he must give Jiang Feng face?
"On what grounds!"
But seeing Li Kun's downcast expression, the retort at the tip of his tongue was forced back down.
"Yes, Director Li, I understand."
Yang Wencheng lowered his head, concealing his discontent.
Li Kun saw his demeanor, recognized his inner resentment, but said nothing more.
He had long read Yang Wencheng's petty thoughts; as long as it doesn't delay Li family's major affairs, such a small emotion is irrelevant.
He waved his hand: "Alright, you may go down, don't cause any mishaps. If anything stirs at Ji Shi Tang, report to me promptly."
"Alright, fine!"
Yang Wencheng exchanged a few more formal words with Li Kun before reluctantly leaving Li Fu.
……
Inside Ji Shi Tang, Jiang Feng supported Hua Lao as he sat on a rattan chair.
Hua Yingying brought over a cup of warm water.
"Grandpa, drink slowly; don't let the cold damage your body."
Hua Lao took the cup, his hand still trembling slightly.
He stared at the medicine jars behind the counter that had been there for decades, his eyes reddening.
These are the result of his life's dedication!
"Jiang Feng, it's all my fault…"
Hua Lao sighed, his voice full of guilt.
"If I had been more careful back then, I wouldn't have let that scoundrel Yang Wencheng exploit the loophole, and now I've even dragged you into it…"
"Hua Lao, don't say that."
Jiang Feng interrupted: "Yang Wencheng set this up deliberately. Moreover, we're not at a dead end yet; we still have three days, so we can figure something out."
Hua Yingying also nodded.
"Yes, Grandpa! Brother Jiang Feng will definitely help us reclaim Ji Shi Tang! You must trust him."
Jiang Feng picked up his phone, walked to the window, and dialed Su Xueyan.
"Jiang Feng? Why are you calling now—did something happen?"
"There's a bit of trouble at Ji Shi Tang."
Jiang Feng briefly explained how Yang Wencheng used a fake agreement to blackmail.
"The signatures and fingerprints on the agreement are genuine, but there are traces of later alterations; I'm not sure if it can serve as evidence."
Su Xueyan's tone turned serious as soon as she finished listening.
"I'll be there right away! By the way, I've asked the company's legal consultant Lin Fangfei to come along; she's an expert in this area, let her take a look."
"Alright, I'll wait for you at Ji Shi Tang."
After hanging up, Jiang Feng returned to the counter, where Hua Lao and Hua Yingying stared at him expectantly.
He gave a small smile.
"Don't worry, my friend brought a lawyer; let's wait for the lawyer's opinion first."
About half an hour later, a white Mercedes sedan stopped at Ji Shi Tang Gate.
Su Xueyan entered briskly, dressed in a well-tailored ivory suit dress and high heels.
Behind her followed a woman in black professional attire wearing gold-rimmed glasses.
It was the chief legal consultant of the Su Group, Lin Fangfei.
"Jiang Feng, Hua Lao, Yingying, sorry for being late."
"Lawyer Lin just rushed back from out of town and came over without a moment's rest."
Lin Fangfei adjusted her glasses and gave a slight nod to the three.
"Hua Lao, Mr. Jiang, Miss Hua, I am Lin Fangfei. Please hand me the agreement for review."
Jiang Feng gave Lin Fangfei the photo of the agreement he had just taken.
Lin Fangfei immediately began to examine it seriously.
After about twenty minutes, Lin Fangfei finally looked up, her tone carrying a hint of gravity.
"This agreement, from a legal standpoint, is quite problematic."
"First, the signature and fingerprint are indeed Hua Lao's; this is the core basis for the Agreement's validity."
Lin Fangfei pointed at the signature on the Agreement.
"Although Mr. Jiang mentioned that the alteration traces exist, Yang Wencheng could fully argue that they were a correction of a pen error at the time, and there is no other evidence to prove that he deliberately concealed the clause about the transfer of ownership."
"After all, Hua Lao admitted that he hadn't examined the documents carefully then; this negligence is quite fatal."
With those words, the desolation on Hua Lao's face grew even deeper.
Lin Fangfei took a sip of water and continued.
"Second, if Yang Wencheng can provide the transfer records from that time, the court will most likely acknowledge the loan fact. Even if we sue then, the case's chance of winning is less than thirty percent."
"That hard?"
Hua Yingying couldn't help but shout.
"Then are we just to watch helplessly as Yang Wencheng snatches Ji Shi Tang away?"
Lin Fangfei sighed and said very seriously.
"Unless Yang Wencheng voluntarily relinquishes the ownership, from the current evidence, Ji Shi Tang could indeed legally belong to Yang Wencheng."
Hua Lao's complexion instantly grew paler; he leaned back in his chair, his eyes filled with Despair.
Su Xueyan looked at Jiang Feng.
"How about… we talk to Yang Wencheng? I can pay a high price to buy Ji Shi Tang back, as long as he is willing to loosen his grip; the price is negotiable."
Jiang Feng, however, shook his head.
"Useless. What Yang Wencheng wants isn't money, but the prestige of Ji Shi Tang. He now has Li Kun backing him, so even if we offer more money, he might still not sell."
"The root of this matter lies with the Li Family. Yang Wencheng's audacity ultimately relies on Li Kun's support. If we can get Li Kun to loosen his grip, or have him mediate, the issue can truly be resolved."
Su Xueyan was startled for a moment.
"You want to look for Li Kun? But last time you refused to cooperate with Li Kun; now that you seek him, he probably won't give you that face."
"How would we know without trying."
Jiang Feng stood up and walked outward.
"I'll go to the Li Family right now, to talk with Li Kun."
Su Xueyan also stood up.
"Let me escort you; no matter how the Li Family is, they must give me a little face."
"Alright."
Jiang Feng thought it was indeed so; the Su Family, however it is, is one of the four great wealthy clans, and when Li Kun sees Su Xueyan, he must give some face.
Even if not much, at least it helps a bit.
…
Half an hour later, the car stopped at the gate of the Li family old mansion.
Jiang Feng and Su Xueyan just got off the car and saw a figure of Li Ao emerging from inside.
"Mr. Jiang? President Su?"
Li Ao saw them and was momentarily stunned,
"Why did you come? Are you looking for my elder brother?"
Jiang Feng nodded.
"Please have Doctor Li report, I have an important matter and want to talk with Patriarch Li."
Li Ao gently shook his head.
"Sorry, Mr. Jiang, my elder brother left early and hasn't returned yet."
"Oh?"
Jiang Feng's gaze flickered slightly.
