Chapter 3
"There, there are still stains, mop it harder!"
"You just stepped on the floor I just mopped, clean it up yourself!"
"There's dog hair under the sofa, crawl in and clean it up!"
Shi Yi held the mop, cleaning every corner of the room, while Shi Heng stood to the side with his arms crossed, coldly giving orders.
He deliberately made various harsh and excessive demands, thinking that Shi Yi would definitely refuse or get angry, but he didn't expect her to remain silent, silently submitting to Shi Heng's commands.
It was just that her movements were occasionally strenuous, and her complexion was as pale as paper.
Watching Shi Yi's figure silently cleaning the living room, Shi Heng became inexplicably irritable. He didn't understand why Shi Yi had suddenly stopped fighting back.
She couldn't even say the word "no"?
Wasn't she the most stubborn and sharp-tongued one! From childhood to adulthood, she had never taken him, this eldest brother, seriously.
"Go, take this bucket of water to the bathroom and pour it out!"
The living room of several hundred square meters had already been cleaned spotless by Shi Yi in no time. Shi Heng pointed to the bucket of dirty water in front of him used for rinsing the mop and ordered.
Shi Yi held onto the wall, barely managing to stand steady. Looking at the full bucket of water on the floor, her face couldn't help but turn pale.
The pain in her abdomen had already reached the point of numbness, and her body had long since exceeded its limits—she didn't know how much longer she could hold on, or if she would just be pained to death like this.
"Can I... wait a while before doing it... I'm feeling a bit..."
The words "unwell" hadn't even left her mouth before they were coldly interrupted by Shi Heng.
"What? Tired so soon, don't want to do it? Aren't you the strongest, able to beat me down even without eating for three days and three nights?"
Shi Heng snorted coldly, showing no sign of compromise.
In a daze, Shi Yi remembered—what Shi Heng was talking about was that time when Mom and Dad locked her in a dark room for three days and three nights, demanding she apologize to Shi Xi, but she refused to speak.
That night, Shi Heng came to bring her food, and she didn't know where she got the strength, but she punched Shi Heng to the ground and escaped.
Unfortunately, she only made it to the front door before being caught back by Shi Zhenyuan.
Shi Yi smiled in her heart. Her brother's heart was truly smaller than the tip of a needle; he would probably hold a grudge about this for a lifetime.
Although he was her eldest brother, he hated her to the bone and had personally sent her to prison.
How could she expect even a shred of pity from such a person?!
She said nothing more, gritted her teeth, and silently bent down to lift the large bucket of water on the floor. However, the bucket was truly too heavy; the moment she lifted it off the ground, her abdomen couldn't bear the strain and twisted violently, the pain causing her figure to buckle, and she almost fell directly to the ground.
Her body was already missing a kidney and was extremely weak, and having been tortured for so long by the intense abdominal pain from the seafood allergy, she simply couldn't withstand such heavy weight.
Seeing that Shi Yi's face was already pale without a trace of blood, and sweat was dripping from her forehead like it was worthless, Shi Heng only felt a sense of reluctance start to grow in his heart—after all, she was his own sister.
However, he didn't call a stop; he wanted to see just how long Shi Yi could hold on?!
"What? Can't lift it? Want to pretend again?!"
"No, I, I'm just catching my breath..." Shi Yi forced down the fishy sweetness rising in her throat and said, panting heavily.
After ten seconds or so, she bent down again.
This time, she bit her lip and, relying on a willpower she didn't know where she got, lifted the bucket of water and walked step by step, with great difficulty, toward the bathroom.
At this moment, Shi Yi was in so much pain that her consciousness was a bit blurred, and her heart was numb, but...
She thought, perhaps if she died, she wouldn't have to be in so much pain.
Shi Heng stood at the foot of the stairs, arms crossed, watching Shi Yi stagger as she carried the bucket of water to the bathroom, then bend down to lift it and pour it into the sewer. Then, she silently put the broom and mop back in their original places.
"Brother, I'm done." After doing all this, Shi Yi returned to Shi Heng and said in a low voice.
"If you're done, get back to sleep." Seeing that Shi Yi's complexion was truly terrifyingly pale, Shi Heng no longer had the interest to bully her.
Shi Yi nodded and silently walked toward her basement.
However, after taking only two steps, the fishy sweetness in her stomach could no longer be suppressed. Her whole body trembled, a sound came from her throat, and she bent down to vomit a mouthful of blood.
Then she fell straight down.
"Shi Yi!"
Seeing the mouthful of blood Shi Yi spat out, Shi Heng was startled and quickly walked over to catch her falling body.
He saw that the person in his arms had already lost consciousness, her expression pained, with a line of bright red staining the corners of her mouth.
And on her pale, drooping arms, there were actually dense, thick scars!
Shi Heng quickly sent Shi Yi to the hospital. An hour later, a doctor wearing a white coat with a serious face walked out of the emergency room.
"She has a seafood allergy, and you actually let her eat seafood? Do you know that a severe allergic reaction can kill people!"
The young doctor took off the mask on his face, revealing a handsome and delicate face, but his expression was terrifyingly serious.
Shi Heng frowned. How could it be him?
"Su Yichen, why are you here?"
"Eldest Young Master Shi, I am the Director Physician of Internal Medicine here. Is there a problem?" Su Yichen said with a stern expression. Although he had only met Shi Heng once, he recognized Shi Yi.
The two of them had grown up together in the orphanage, and their relationship was very deep; they could even be called childhood sweethearts.
"Xiao Yi's acute gastrointestinal bleeding was caused by a seafood allergy, coupled with her weak body, which is why she fainted; it could even be said she was pained into a faint! She just got out of prison, and your family is going to start torturing her again?!"
Su Yichen said with a face full of anger. He knew the Shi family's attitude toward Shi Yi better than anyone.
Seafood allergy?
In Shi Heng's mind, the coral trout on the dinner table appeared. However, he truly had never known that Shi Yi had a seafood allergy; he had thought she simply didn't like eating fish.
"Su Yichen, have I given you too much face? We tortured her? Heh, she was the one who wanted to eat fish; no one forced her mouth open. If she didn't say anything, who would know she had a seafood allergy!"
Shi Heng had never liked this pretty boy who had almost become his brother-in-law, and said unpleasantly.
"Heh, didn't know? Ridiculous, she is your family's daughter after all! Have you, the Shi family, ever cared about her for even a single day?!" Su Yichen said through gritted teeth.
"Surname Su, you damn well think about what qualifications you have to say such things? Do you need me to remind you what you did to Shi Yi back then!"
Su Yichen's face suddenly turned white.
Back then, after the Shi family incident, they wanted to frame Shi Yi, and the most difficult thing to handle was the alibi—because Shi Yi was with him at the time, and the two of them were dating.
So, the Shi family offered a huge sum of money to bribe Su Yichen, asking him to commit perjury and overturn Shi Yi's alibi.
That was also the only time Shi Heng and Su Yichen had met.
Having grown up in an orphanage, where had Su Yichen ever seen so much money?! At the time, he had already been admitted to the number one ranked Qinglan University Medical School in the country and was worrying about his tuition fees.
Facing such a huge temptation, he simply couldn't refuse, so he agreed to Shi Heng's request on the spot and committed perjury in court.
This also indirectly sent Shi Yi to prison.
This matter had also become an eternal pain in Su Yichen's heart. He silently clenched his fingers and gritted his teeth, saying:
"I am sorry to Xiao Yi, but this time, I will make it up to her properly and will never let her suffer even the slightest bit of harm again!"
