Chapter 41: The White-Clothed Slaughter God, A Month of Massacre
For a month, Slaughter City has been shrouded in a layer of blood-red color, the air permeated with a thick, bloody stench, and broken corpses and charred, blackened traces of burning can be seen everywhere on the streets.
The once-bustling city is now like a deathly silent graveyard, with only the sound of the wind and the occasional scream breaking the silence.
The figure of Zhexian is like a white devil, weaving through every corner of Slaughter City.
His white clothes appear particularly jarring against the blood-red background, like a white lotus blooming in a sea of blood, pure and cold.
His pace is light and composed, as if he were strolling in his own back garden rather than this city filled with slaughter and death.
Every time the sound of the Jade Flute rings out, an area falls into deathly silence; the lives of Soul Masters quietly vanish amidst the flute music, without even a chance to resist.
"It's him again! That white-clothed madman!" a Soul Master hiding in a dark corner says in a trembling, low voice, his eyes filled with fear.
"Run! Don't let him discover us!" another Soul Master lowers his voice, pulling his companion to try and escape.
However, their movements have long since been detected by Zhexian.
Zhexian's gaze sweeps lightly over that dark corner, the corners of his mouth lifting slightly to reveal a cold smile.
"Since you've come, then stay."
He gently raises the Jade Flute, places it to his lips, and the leisurely flute music rings out once more.
The bodies of those two Soul Masters suddenly freeze, their eyes becoming vacant, and then they collapse limply to the ground, devoid of life.
Zhexian does not stop and continues walking forward.
His goal has never been these ant-like Soul Masters, but that high and mighty Slaughter King, as well as the Asura God Position hidden deep within Slaughter City.
To trigger the Asura God Position with the aura of slaughter...
What he did not expect was that after slaughtering nearly ten thousand people in this month, he still has not seen a shadow of the Slaughter King.
However, he is not in a hurry; he can just use this opportunity to cultivate his own slaughter.
Those Soul Masters who were lucky enough to survive scatter in terror the moment they see his figure from afar, fearing they might become his next target.
"The Slaughter God in white... he's here!" a Soul Master shouts tremblingly, his voice filled with endless fear.
"Run! Don't let him catch up!" another Soul Master runs frantically, as if a demon were chasing behind him.
"If you can truly escape my sight, I will spare your lives."
Hearing this, everyone runs toward the distance even more desperately.
Zhexian's figure continues to move slowly along the street, every step feeling as if it were treading on the hearts of the Soul Masters, causing them to feel a suffocating pressure.
His white clothes flutter gently in the wind, and with every step he takes, he claims the lives of several people.
The Soul Masters of Slaughter City are already in utter despair; during this time, even the Enforcement Team has lost many members at the hands of this person.
They do not understand why the Slaughter King does not appear to save them!
They had originally thought that the rules of Slaughter City were enough to bind anyone, and that even the most powerful Soul Master could not use soul skills here.
However, the white-clothed Slaughter God has completely broken this rule.
When the sound of his Jade Flute rings out, countless Soul Masters do not even have a chance to resist before their lives are taken by those eerie petals.
Even more terrifying is his True Phoenix Flame.
That scorching flame seems capable of burning everything; whether it is the body of a Soul Master or their soul, both are reduced to ashes in the flame.
Every time the flame sweeps past, an area is completely purified, leaving not even a trace of filth behind.
"He is toying with us!"
"Slaughter King, please save us!"
"Slaughter King..."
At the highest point of Slaughter City, that pitch-black castle still stands tall.
The Slaughter King stands on the highest level of the castle, watching everything below with a cold gaze.
There is no anger in his eyes, nor fear, only a trace of faint gravity.
"A month has passed..." the Slaughter King murmurs in a low voice, his tone carrying a trace of complex emotion, "This fellow is not using soul skills, but a different kind of ability..."
Behind him, the Shinu wearing a black tight-fitting suit stands respectfully, her face full of awe and fear.
"King, are we really not going to take any action?" the Shinu asks in a low voice, her tone trembling slightly.
The Slaughter King sneers, a cold glint flashing in his scarlet eyes: "Action? So many of the Enforcement Team under this King have been almost wiped out! What else can be done! Acting rashly will only plunge us into a greater crisis."
The Shinu lowers her head, not daring to say more.
The Slaughter King's gaze turns toward the window again, a complex look flashing in his eyes.
"Slaughter God in white... what exactly do you want?" the Slaughter King mutters to himself, his voice carrying a trace of hard-to-detect apprehension.
At the same time, Zhexian has already arrived at the central plaza of Slaughter City.
A massive statue originally stood on the plaza, symbolizing the majesty and power of Slaughter City.
However, at this moment, that statue has long since been burned beyond recognition by the True Phoenix Flame, with only some broken fragments scattered on the ground.
Zhexian stands in the center of the plaza, scanning his surroundings with an indifferent gaze.
He knows that his slaughter has already caused panic throughout all of Slaughter City.
Those Soul Masters who were originally arrogant and domineering have long since hidden away, fearing they might become his next target.
However, Zhexian does not care.
His goal has never been these ant-like Soul Masters, but that high and mighty Slaughter King, as well as the Asura God Position hidden deep within Slaughter City.
"Slaughter King, such an imposing name, are you still not planning to appear?" Zhexian murmurs in a low voice, the corners of his mouth lifting slightly to reveal a faint smile.
His gaze turns toward that pitch-black castle in the distance, a cold intent to kill flashing in his eyes.
"Since you, fellow Daoist, refuse to show yourself, then I shall have to pay a personal visit."
As his voice falls, Zhexian's figure suddenly vanishes from where he stood, leaving behind only a blood-red petal that slowly dissipates into the air.
The figure of Zhexian was like a bolt of white lightning, instantly crossing several streets and heading straight for that pitch-black castle. His steps were light and composed, as if every stride trod upon the void; his white robes snapped in the wind, and the bloodstains on the hem of his garment appeared exceptionally glaring under the sunlight.
Seeing his figure from afar, the Soul Masters of Slaughter City scattered in terror, as if they had seen the arrival of the God of Death. However, Zhexian's gaze remained locked onto that castle, paying not the slightest attention to these ant-like Soul Masters.
"He... he is going to the castle of the Slaughter King!" one Soul Master said, trembling, his eyes filled with fear.
"Could it be that he intends to challenge the Slaughter King?" another Soul Master muttered in a low voice, his tone carrying a trace of disbelief.
"The Slaughter King... is he finally going to make a move?" someone whispered a prayer, as if pinning their final hope on that high and mighty king.
