An ambitious young man from modern times finds his soul transmigrated into the body of a Tang dynasty youth named Fang Chongyong. Apart from that unreliable old dad who vanished and left a huge pile of holes behind, Fang Chongyong’s days are fairly comfortable. Sure, there are a few more hassles, life is a bit tougher, the situation more perilous, and the future more uncertain.

Anyway, it’s still the Kaiyuan era, with more than ten years left of Tianbao, plenty of peaceful time for him to squander. Fang Chongyong thinks that with his abilities he can happily drift until old age with no problem at all. Until, many years later, a rumor comes from northern Youzhou: the barbarian general An Lushan has been beheaded, and the executioner is named Fang Youde.

“Fang Youde? Why does he have the same name as my dad? ” Fang Chongyong realizes he’s run into an unsolvable mess.
