Chapter 467

Chen Fan's face darkened as he said, "What about the trees in that area of your village?"

"When development started years ago, the trees were cut down... Now that cutting is forbidden, we just wait for them to grow slowly."

Li Tian said, "Do you know something?"

Chen Fan said, "Do you have the physical examination reports? If you do, bring them all for me to see."

The village head instructed people to collect these items from other households; soon, the reports were brought over. Chen Fan looked at them, frowning.

He then said, "This matter has become quite serious. Village head, I'll say something off-topic: you probably just wanted to find a solution for the village. I assume everyone in the village knows about this, right?"

"Yes, everyone knows. It was tacitly approved; after all, bringing it up would sound bad."

Chen Fan said, "But the people in your village have been acting strangely lately. Sigh, let me put it this way: are there any who died of old age naturally in the village?"

"No."

Li Tian instantly realized something and said, "Are you saying...?"

Chen Fan said, "Exactly. Diseases, all kinds of diseases. Because certain metal levels exceeded the limit, these people's bodies were already on the verge of collapse. Add to that the aphrodisiac drugs taken to conceive children, which worsened their health, so this time it erupted directly. As for the others still alive, they will also fall ill later with many difficult-to-treat conditions."

The village head suddenly understood and said, "I get it. Before, the town ordered a steel factory to be built here. Later, everyone discovered it was toxic and drove the steel factory away... But this site was abandoned and demolished very quickly."

Chen Fan looked at Li Tian and said, "The rest is your job. I've completed all the investigations I can..."

Li Tian thought of something terrifying.

He then began calling some chemical experts and summoned people to come.

Inside Chen Fan's forensic office, several people had just finished testing the water quality.

On Li Tian's end, they arrested the person.

The arrested person was an old man.

But the one who instructed the old man to do this was the former owner of the site.

And the owner of this factory has already gone abroad; to be precise, he is not a domestic national but a foreigner.
