Chapter 22

Norman took off his mask.

"Peter, it's me. I was controlled by my second personality, save me!"

Facing Norman Osborn’s show of weakness, Peter’s raised fist stopped.

"I knew it was you, but you killed Captain George, you killed so many innocent people!"

"I couldn't control it, please, help me! You are Harry’s good friend, I always wanted to adopt you, to treat you like my own child..."

The glider quietly arrived behind Spider-Man.

But the Green Goblin didn't know that Spider-Man had Spider-Sense! A nimble backflip dodged the glider!

In the end, the Green Goblin was stabbed to death by his own dirty trick, looking at Peter in despair.

"I have a father, his name is Ben Parker."

Peter, with complex emotions, looked at the scientist he once admired; now, he had fallen into the path of evil.

Fortunately, he kept Uncle Ben’s words in his heart, remembering "with great power comes great responsibility"!

He would never become someone like the Green Goblin!

He removed the Green Goblin armor, giving Norman Osborn a dignified death.

Peter arrived at the Osborn building; the captain had already been carried downstairs, and Gwen was holding him and crying bitterly.

The antidote Gwen brought out successfully saved the mutated innocent people, but unfortunately, she had lost her father.

Peter stood behind her, his gaze complex.

The audience saw this scene and couldn't help but sigh.

The ending was a successful rescue of New York, saving many people, but the price was a bit painful.

Norman Osborn and George Stacy held their funerals on the same day, but Peter didn't attend either one.

He just stood on the edge of a high building, quietly watching the two grieving people.

His best friend Harry, and the woman he loved, Gwen...

Returning home, Peter hugged Aunt May helplessly; the doorbell rang, and a tearful Gwen stood at the door with an umbrella.

"He made you promise... that way I'll be safer, right?"

Peter was silent, his eyes full of heartache and guilt.

Xu Can’s acting had shocked the audience more than once,

and this look of his was worth more than countless lines!

Tears streamed down Gwen’s face, and she turned and left.

Back in the room, Aunt May had already seen through Peter.

"If anyone can make her happy, it has to be you, Peter! I believe Ben’s spirit in heaven would support you too."

Peter took out his phone again, listening to the last message Uncle Ben left him.

"...The things that cause us pain are the same things that make us who we are. If anyone is destined to do great things, it must be you, my child."

The camera cut, and Spider-Man was already standing on the top of a high building again, overlooking this "simple-minded" city of freedom.

The police radio reported an emergency about bank robbers, and the crazy robbers on the road were in a fierce chase with police cars.

"No matter what my future holds, I will always remember this sentence."

"With great power comes great responsibility."

"This is my gift, and also my curse."

"Who am I?"

"I am Spider-Man."

The beginning and end of the film echoed each other, both being Peter Parker’s narration.

Compared to the carefree high school boy at the beginning, the narration at the end was filled with firmness and a sense of mission.

The audience could clearly feel Peter Parker’s transformation into Spider-Man!

This was the story of a boy next door becoming a superhero!

At the end of the film, Spider-Man chose to fight crime and protect the public.

He swung over New York, once again using the Spydercam’s flashy shots, letting the audience enjoy one last thrill!

As Spider-Man swung from the roof and flew toward the screen, firing a web at it,

the film came to an abrupt end!

As the credits rolled, the entire theater was silent.

Only the background music played; otherwise, there was no movement.

"Uh... don't they like it?"

Emma Stone was a bit panicked.

The film’s completion was clearly very high; why did it feel like the audience had no reaction?

"Don't rush, let the bullets fly for a while."

"What do you mean? What bullets?"

"You'll know later."

The next second, an excited fan in the back row shouted at the top of his lungs.

"Bravo!!!! Yes!!"

Immediately after, thunderous applause erupted throughout the theater! It was so overwhelming it almost shook the entire hall!

Even the knowledgeable Marc Webb, Avi Arad, and others turned their heads in astonishment, looking at the mesmerized fans.

Everyone stood up; applause, whistles, and cheers were endless!

For this, Xu Can, along with Stone and many of the main creators, stood up one after another, waving to the fans in the back row to thank them.

This scene lasted for several minutes until the post-credits scene appeared, and everyone gradually took their seats.

On the screen, a heartbroken Harry sat in the empty villa, his father’s figure gone forever.

In the dark, he seemed to hear his father’s whisper.

Searching everywhere, he found a uniquely shaped voice recorder in his father’s desk drawer.

It turned out it had been set to play on a timer!

"Harry, if you are hearing this, hehehe, maybe I'm already gone. Do you want to avenge me?"

Following the recording’s guidance, Harry walked into the ruins, moving bricks one by one with his bare hands, revealing a secret hatch.

The serum and Green Goblin equipment in the hidden laboratory left Harry dumbfounded!

The Green Goblin was his own father!

"Avenge me! Hee-hahahaha! Avenge me..."

The voice in the recorder gradually became distorted, and so did Harry Osborn’s heart!

The screen went dark, and the Columbia Pictures and Sony logos appeared.

The film ended.

Warm applause erupted throughout the theater again!

Everyone was incredibly excited!

The host walked onto the stage with a smile, picking up the microphone.

"Well, ladies and gentlemen, I believe you must have a stomach full of questions!"

"Next, is the highly anticipated... Q&A session with the creators!"
