Chapter 248: Spider-Man 3 Premiere! Battle Against Kingpin!
The premiere of *Spider-Man 3: The Sinister Six* proceeded as planned.
Because Sony was leading the project, the premiere was entirely organized by them. Xu Can finally didn't have to worry about anything; he could mindlessly relax and enjoy the night.
His red carpet partner was, naturally, his original co-star, Emma Stone.
Due to the Spider-Man and Gwen pairing, Taylor Swift and Black Widow were temporarily unable to accompany Xu Can on the red carpet.
It had been quite some time, but Emma Stone finally had the chance to have Xu Can all to herself.
"It feels like the days of the past... they might never come back."
On the red carpet, Emma Stone felt a slight sense of melancholy.
She suddenly remembered the premiere of *Spider-Man 1*, and how she felt walking the red carpet with Xu Can for the first time.
Back then, they weren't a real couple yet; back then, they only had each other.
Unfortunately, now there were more and more women around Xu Can, which gave Emma Stone a strong sense of crisis.
If not for Xu Can’s favoritism, she probably wouldn't have been able to hold on for this long.
"Since the past can't come back, I will work with you to make the future even better."
Xu Can looked earnestly into Emma Stone’s eyes.
Even though she knew this was a cheap line of sweet talk, Emma Stone was still moved.
Women are just like that; as long as she likes you, she doesn't need flowery language—even the most unrefined words can touch her heart.
"Hmph, you only know how to sweet-talk people."
Emma Stone complained with her mouth, but her arm tightened around Xu Can’s.
Having walked countless red carpets over the past two years, Xu Can had gone from being blinded by flashbulbs to being composed and at ease.
Finally, after the formalities, the two of them and the main creative team of *Spider-Man 3* arrived at the premiere screening hall.
The hall, which had been packed for *Spider-Man 1*, was identical to how it was back then. The Spider-Man poster on the big screen made the fans feel as if time had stood still.
In the blink of an eye, it had been over three years—nearly four—since *Spider-Man* first appeared!
Xu Can was also deeply moved; he had been in this world for quite a while now!
From a down-and-out performance student who was kicked out, an Asian kid playing bit parts,
to a giant who had built an entertainment empire and was about to rule Hollywood!
The changes over four years were too fast; in the past, he wouldn't have even dared to imagine it!
Now, Xu Can was getting closer and closer to his goal.
Once he was done with *Spider-Man 3*, he would first begin filming *Birdman*.
After fully mastering all cinematography techniques and integrating god-tier directing, god-tier acting, and his own internal cultivation,
by May 2010 at the latest, Xu Can would begin filming *The Three-Body Problem*!
He would bring this sci-fi masterpiece to the screen in its original form and give the world a little shock!
Perhaps it was a meeting of minds; she sensed Xu Can’s vision for the future.
Emma Stone held his hand, and a single affectionate look was enough to show that she would stay by Xu Can’s side and accompany him in completing such a grand feat!
The hall dimmed, and the movie officially began!

[Produced by Sony/Columbia Pictures]
[Co-produced by Galaxy Pictures]
The Sony logo, the Columbia Goddess opening animation, and the Galaxy Pictures space-jump animation played in succession.
Among them, the Columbia Goddess animation also featured an Easter egg.
This time, the space flickered several times, and the area where the Columbia Goddess stood suddenly tore open.
Gwen Stacy, Spider-Gwen, crawled out from within.
This hinted at the Easter egg from the previous film, as well as the content of the main feature!
"Okay, let's do this one more time."
"My name is Peter Parker, and I am the one and only Spider-Man..."
With an opening similar to the trailer,
Peter Parker used a playful tone to summarize the general plot of the first two films.
The background followed the consistent style of the new *Spider-Man* films,
using a comic book format to present past stories.
For this comic, Xu Can had performed an upgrade; the visual style was consistent with *Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse* and *Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse*!
The audience at the scene saw this art style, which pushed color usage to the extreme, and it was a critical hit right from the start! Their scalps tingled!
Especially those interested in art; they were almost in tears!
"If this comic style could be made into a feature-length animation, that would be amazing."
"Exactly! If they release a feature-length animation, I'll be the first to buy a ticket!"
The media and film critics at the scene were also shocked.
At the very beginning of the film, while still in the opening credits, Xu Can had actually been willing to spend a fortune on such era-leading animation production!
The technology wasn't the hard part; the hard part was this 3D-dyed-as-2D, bold, avant-garde, hip-hop art design!
An animation that could shock the world in 2018, when placed in 2010, was nothing short of a shockwave!
Xu Can had also considered that if the parallel world could accept this style,
*Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse* could also be put on the agenda.
By then, Spider-Man wouldn't belong to Sony, but would be the exclusive copyright of Galaxy Entertainment!
With more and more movies needing to be scheduled, Xu Can was almost falling into a sweet dilemma.
The worry wasn't that there was nothing to film, but that there was too much content to filter and choose from!
……
After the opening credits, the film officially began!
The scene shifted, starting with a handsome close-up of Xu Can.
Peter was lying in bed when he suddenly heard the sound of a police radio.
"All NYPD units, proceed immediately to Fisk Tower! Suspect Wilson Fisk is resisting arrest with force; requesting backup!"
Peter Parker woke up immediately, his face stubbly and looking slightly world-weary.
The audience could vaguely see a bit of the "John Wick" assassin vibe.
It seemed the death of Gwen in the previous film had really dealt Peter Parker a heavy blow!
After getting up, Peter Parker used a homemade automatic toaster to make breakfast,
quickly found his Spider-Man suit, and gave it a sniff—it smelled a bit.
This moment made the superhero instantly grounded! Incredibly relatable.
While he was changing, the camera scanned across a set of photos.
Peter Parker in his graduation gown, an intimate photo with Gwen,
a photo of Peter Parker at university with Doctor Octopus Octavius,
Gwen’s funeral portrait,
a lonely graduation photo of Peter Parker alone after university,
and his work ID as a researcher at Stark Industries, wearing a white lab coat!
To ensure the audience didn't miss this detail, the camera lingered on the ID for an extra two seconds.
"What?"
"No way."
Stark Industries!
Not Oscorp, not Pym Technologies, but Stark Industries!
The position on the ID showed: Stark Industries Applied Biotechnology R&D Department, Intern.
In just one shot, the story background for *Spider-Man 3* was established!
Peter Parker had graduated from university and become a member of society.
Judging by his rented apartment, he probably wasn't getting paid as an intern and was scraping by with part-time jobs.
Because the camera scanned the corner of the bed, there was a pizza delivery vest.
On the table were notices for unpaid utility bills and rent.
Without deliberately introducing the background, Xu Can had already explained Peter Parker’s situation.
Even though he was Spider-Man, a superhero, as an ordinary person, Peter’s life was not going well.
It was even a bit down-and-out.
The camera moved to the window; in just a few seconds, Peter was ready to go, wearing his Spider-Man suit.
With a flick of his web, he stuck it to his toasted bread, and Peter leaped out of the window!
