Chapter 154: Su Chen Sets the Internet Ablaze

After countless calls, it finally appears!

After more than half a year of filming, production, and promotion, "Blossoms Shanghai" has officially premiered.

This is the project with the most content that Director Sunglasses has ever filmed, yet shot in the shortest time.

Normally, a single film runs an hour and a half.

He could spend three to five years on it, even ten.

But this TV drama of several dozen episodes took only half a year.

The speed is already legendary!

Of course, a large part of this is thanks to Su Chen.

His nearly flawless acting greatly boosted the filming efficiency.

At the same time, driven by Su Chen,

the entire crew, including Director Sunglasses himself, got caught up in the grind.

Efficiency skyrocketed!

Otherwise, getting this drama on the air would have been delayed by several more months.

From the very inception of this drama,

it was locked in that Director Sunglasses would direct.

Instantly drawing extremely high attention.

Later, the plan was to invite an all-star cast led by Hu Ge.

Which stirred up heated attention across the entire internet.

Afterwards, Su Chen snatched the male lead right out from under Hu Ge.

Which caused yet another uproar online.

Netizens assumed Su Chen had a powerful background and had bought his way into the cast.

After that,

Su Chen's rumored romances with the three actresses, along with the several singles he released,

all pushed the buzz around "Blossoms Shanghai" to its peak!

Until Su Chen's "Nocturne" sealed his legendary status in one battle.

His position and that of "Blossoms Shanghai" had completely swapped.

Su Chen has already no longer needed "Blossoms Shanghai" to climb to the top tier.

Instead, it was this drama that relied on Su Chen's heat and popularity to draw in even more viewers.

Because this drama is set in the Magic City of the 1990s.

Its regional flavor is far too strong.

Zhuding Society will inevitably have a sizable portion of viewers who don't enjoy it.

But because many of these people are fans of Su Chen's music,

they only then turned their eyes to this drama.

A little past eight in the evening.

Episodes 1 and 2 of "Blossoms Shanghai" officially aired!

CCTV already commands an extremely high viewership rating.

Many dramas it airs achieve solid ratings.

But the moment "Blossoms Shanghai" debuted,

it was as if a heavy bomb had been dropped into a still, deep pool.

Instantly causing a massive sensation!

That night's viewership rating hit an astonishing 2.93%!

For a drama that had just premiered,

this figure is downright terrifying.

And after midnight,

"Blossoms Shanghai" updated simultaneously on Penguin Video.

In just half a day, clicks surpassed 200 million!

By the time the run ends, single-platform clicks could break 15 billion.

Even 20 billion!

Hot on the heels of the record set by "Princess Agents."

It can be said that, judging solely from the premiere,

whether by CCTV satellite ratings or online clicks,

or by the number of VIP memberships generated,

it has far exceeded expectations.

But just like with films,

the initial explosion in popularity comes from the buzz generated by the subject matter, the cast, and the director.

In the end, it still comes down to quality.

If the quality is lacking,

it will start strong and then plummet, nose-diving!

"Shanghai Fortress" back in the day was exactly like that.

The moment that "Shi Shi-level domestic sci-fi epic" hit theaters—

Then the box office exploded!

But it exploded in the morning and collapsed by the afternoon.

Two or three days after its release, it was pulled from all theaters nationwide.

Investors lost money until their kidneys bled!

Fortunately, as "Blossoms" continued to air to great popularity,

the viewership ratings remained at a remarkably high level.
