Chapter 58: The Roaring Lava Giant!

~4 min read 712 words

In this space littered with magma, there were still many paths.

After spending considerable time, these dozen or so dwarves arrived before a vast magma lake.

Not all areas along the magma lake's edge could support standing.

Some spots looked like solid ground, but stepping on them would likely plunge one straight into the magma.

So they had reached a stone plaza before the magma lake.

The Dwarf Queen pulled a fire crystal stone from her basket and tossed it into the magma lake.

The fire crystal stone's melting point appeared extremely high—it sank into the magma lake without melting.

Soon after, the magma lake began to bubble with a "gurgle, gurgle" sound.

Bubbles began rising from the red magma.

Then, the magma surged violently, and from within it rose a giant completely wreathed in red flames.

The giant stood at least ten meters tall; compared to it, the dwarves, barely over a meter tall, looked like tiny specks.

After standing, the flames on its body began to die down.

Its body was still coated in thick magma, which continuously dripped off and fell back into the lake.

"Queen, this Lava Giant is huge!"

One female dwarf had clearly never seen a Lava Giant before; seeing such a massive one, her eyes widened in shock.

The Lava Giant still held the fire crystal stone the Dwarf Queen had thrown—it picked it up, shoved it into its mouth, and with a "crack," bit off half of it.

Then it began chewing.

No one knew how its stone-like head managed to eat the fire crystal stone.

"Who threw this? Tastes good. Give me some more."

The Lava Giant leaned forward, lowering its head to look at the dwarves.

As it did, magma dripped from its shoulders, causing several dwarves to scramble backward, terrified of being splashed.

The Dwarf Queen clapped her hands; behind her, several dwarves carried forward a large chest.

The Lava Giant stared fixedly at the chest, its eyes filled with anticipation.

The Dwarf Queen opened the chest—inside, it was filled entirely with fire crystal stones!

Seeing the fire crystal stones, the Lava Giant's eyes locked onto them.

"Speak. What do you want?"

The Lava Giant, eager to obtain the fire crystal stones, said.

The Dwarf Queen pulled out a large chunk of silver iron and said: "If you help me melt this A Piece of the Heavenly Realm meteoric iron, all these fire crystal stones are yours."

"A Piece of the Heavenly Realm meteoric iron? Let me see."

The Lava Giant extended its hand.

The Dwarf Queen tossed the A Piece of the Heavenly Realm meteoric iron to it.

The Lava Giant caught it, bit into it, sniffed it, and even dipped it into the magma lake.

Then it shook off the magma clinging to it and threw it back to the Dwarf Queen.

"This is something from From the Heavenly Realm—things from From the Heavenly Realm, I cannot melt…"

Mid-sentence, it glanced again at the large chest of fire crystal stones, its eyes darting, then added: "But if you give me that chest of fire crystal stones, I can try."

The Dwarf Queen was no fool; she replied: "Then we won't disturb you further. We'll find another way."

Saying this, she bent down and picked up the A Piece of the Heavenly Realm meteoric iron.

This iron was astonishing—it had been soaked in magma, yet felt perfectly cool to the touch.

No wonder even the Lava Giant couldn't melt it.

The Dwarf Queen felt a pang of disappointment; if the Lava Giant couldn't do it, and the magma fire couldn't be found, they'd have to seek another solution.

Just as they prepared to leave, the Lava Giant suddenly leapt from the magma, sprinting behind the group of dwarves and roaring:

"You woke me from my slumber—one fire crystal stone isn't enough. Give me ten more, and I'll let you go. Otherwise…"

Before it finished speaking, an unremarkable little flame drifted onto its body—and with a "boom," it burst into flames!

"Huh! Who set fire to me? You dare burn me? Don't you know fire is the one thing I fear least… Aah…"

Mid-sentence, its massive body erupted in a "boom" of red flames.

"Aaaah!"

The Lava Giant roared in agony.
