Chapter 62: She Came from the Future

~5 min read 919 words

Standing in the Fairy Tail guild hall, Lucy was overwhelmed with emotion, for this was a Fairy Tail she had never seen, a Fairy Tail she had never experienced!

Dressed in an extremely seductive black silk bunny girl outfit, Lucy felt a bit shy, but she had no choice—it was camouflage, meant to prevent anyone from recognizing her.

Perhaps due to time travel, Erza’s magic space had suffered major malfunctions, leaving only this bunny girl outfit and another cat girl outfit retrievable.

Worse still, after helping Lucy change, Erza had somehow lost her original clothes—Lucy couldn’t even switch back!

With the situation urgent, Lucy had no time to hesitate and had no choice but to move in this black silk bunny girl outfit.

She had to find Gray, Natsu, and Happy—those three jerks who had vanished without a word—before they did something they shouldn’t and disrupted the future.

As for how to return home, she’d leave that to Erza to sort out; she couldn’t help much with that anyway.

Lucy’s gaze turned to the “familiar faces” in the guild—Rebby and Cana were playing chess, two lovely girls facing each other, when Cana’s eyes flashed with light and she made a brilliant move.

“I won!”

Cana cheered, while Rebby across from her looked deeply unhappy.

“Cana, that’s cheating—Itachi used magic, didn’t Itachi?”

Rebby protested, certain beyond doubt that Cana had cheated.

“Of course not!”

Cana naturally denied it—how could chess be cheating?

Checking my fortune, seeing which move is better—is that cheating?

“Rebby and Cana are so adorable!”

Watching this, Lucy couldn’t help but sigh—she and Rebby were very close; soon after joining Fairy Tail, they became good friends.

Both loved reading, and Rebby especially adored the novel Lucy had written—the one inspired by someone.

Speaking of novels, Lucy’s gaze shifted again through the guild hall, finally landing on the boy.

Then she realized—he was looking at her, his eyes filled with confusion, surprise, and a hint of inexplicable strain.

Lucy quickly averted her gaze; her heart pounded uncontrollably, her mind flooded with tension.

That was Mo En! What if he saw through my disguise?!

Thinking harder, Lucy wondered: hadn’t “Great Detective Holmes” already been written by now? Wasn’t Mo En only twelve or thirteen years old back then? How could he have written such a bestselling mystery novel? How meticulous must his mind be?!

The more she tried to avoid something, the more it pursued her—after Lucy looked away, Mo En walked straight toward her.

“Hello, may I help Itachi?”

That same steady voice—slightly younger now—reached her ears; Lucy shuddered, thinking, Oh no, is my disguise about to be exposed?!

But then, after a moment of panic, Lucy suddenly realized: this version of Mo En didn’t know her at all!

Their first meeting would be at the signing event for the second volume of “Great Detective Holmes”—that was still far in the future!

“H-hi! I—”

Lucy began nervously, but before she could finish, she felt the atmosphere in the guild shift.

Mo En’s actions drew everyone’s attention to her, and suddenly a crowd surged toward her.

“A bunny girl?!”

“Is there a mission?!”

“No need to post it—I’ll take it right now!”

The older men in the guild crowded around Lucy, drawn by her outfit, which was just too…

“Bunny girl! When did Itachi arrive? Want to join us?!”

The most enthusiastic was Master Makarov—he stared at Lucy and warmly invited her to join, for he could tell she was a mage.

Without waiting for Lucy’s response, Makarov grabbed her hand and dragged her into the guild hall, heading straight for the bar to register her with Erza, determined to make her a member of Fairy Tail—this was true special treatment, skipping every single evaluation step.

Naturally, the other men in the hall wholeheartedly approved, cheering loudly.

Cheers for another beautiful girl joining the guild!

“.”

Mo En shook his head in disbelief—he was almost certain this curvaceous black-silk bunny girl was either Lucy or Happy.

The reasoning was simple: if this bunny girl weren’t a Fairy Tail member, she wouldn’t be wearing that slightly helpless expression—she’d have gone straight to the Magnolia police station!

Moreover, the way this beautiful, curvaceous bunny girl looked at the Fairy Tail members, her expressions and demeanor, all screamed one thing: she knew them, she was familiar with everything here.

“Grandpa Makarov! That’s too much!”

Mo En stopped standing idly by—he stepped forward to stop the out-of-control Makarov.

“At least respect her opinion.”

Mo En argued with Grandpa Makarov, giving Lucy a chance to escape, as Makarov’s attention shifted to him, his face filled with astonishment.

“Mo En? Itachi don’t like beautiful girls? That’s not like Itachi.”

Makarov stared at Mo En, utterly baffled—this was the first time Mo En had so clearly blocked him from inviting someone.

And this bunny girl’s only difference from others was her stunning figure and beautiful face…

“What even is this?!”

Makarov’s question stunned Mo En—he felt as if struck by lightning, his supremely wise mind momentarily freezing.

How on earth had his old man reached such a ridiculous conclusion?!

But now wasn’t the time to argue further with Grandpa Makarov.

He turned and sprinted after the fleeing black-silk bunny girl.

Watching this, Makarov at the bar exhaled in relief—looks like this kid still had his head on straight.

“.”

“What the hell just happened?!”

Lucy ran out of Fairy Tail amid the chaos, her mind a blur, convinced she’d completely messed things up.
