Chapter 476: Tricked by Aunt Li

~7 min read 1,233 words

Kill the chicken?

Do we have to make such a fuss?

Ye Cheng quickly grabbed Aunt Li,

"No, Aunt Li, we don't need to kill the chicken; we can just have some vegetables. You said your vegetables are fresh, and we usually eat a lot of meat, so some vegetables will do."

"Yes, yes, Aunt Li, we don't like meat, we just like vegetables." Xiao Hu's tone softened too; facing such a polite old lady, nobody could be harsh.

"Go! Go! Stop talking nonsense, you young people—who doesn't like meat? Do you think I'm senile?" Li Dama pointed at the two and said.

After saying that, the old lady pointed to the chicken coop over there,

"Look, these are all raised by me—genuine free-range mountain chickens you can't get in the city."

After saying that, the old lady skillfully opened the chicken coop door and lifted out the biggest chicken.

"This chicken weighs five catties; I'll stew it in a big pot for you—it'll be delicious."

Saying that, the old lady went into the room to boil water and kill the chicken, but before entering she went and locked the courtyard gate, fearing Ye Cheng and the others would leave.

Ye Cheng and Xiao Hu sat there, looking at each other, not knowing what to do.

Xiao Hu suddenly lowered his voice and said,

"Brother, do you think this old lady deliberately kept us here, waiting for her sons to return, and then kill us?"

Ye Cheng's mouth twitched, and a bone-chilling cold ran through his body,

"You've watched too many TV dramas; this isn't a horror movie—Li Dama doesn't look like a bad person."

"That's not certain; I've seen American serial killers who seemed perfectly normal on the surface."

Xiao Hu has recently taken to watching American movies because they're violent and bloody.

When talking about killers, Xiao Hu suddenly shuddered and then pointed inside,

"Brother, they say killing a chicken in there might be just sharpening knives; why don't we split up—one outside, one inside—so we can watch each other's backs if anything happens."

Ye Cheng had been fine, but Xiao Hu's words made him feel a little uneasy.

"Alright, go outside and keep watch; when I call, you call the police."

"Hey, brother, I'll go—I'll climb over the wall to avoid making noise opening the gate."

After saying that, Xiao Hu gulped down a mouthful of cola, feeling like he was drinking a pre-battle toast.

After finishing, he quietly walked to the base of the wall; the wall wasn't high, and a small hop would let him grab it.

Xiao Hu jumped, grabbed the wall with both hands, pushed off with his feet, and flipped onto the top of the wall.

"Brother, I'm up." Xiao Hu gave Ye Cheng an OK sign.

Ye Cheng lightly waved his hand, indicating 'go ahead.'

Xiao Hu nodded, just about to flip down, when he heard several furious voices,

"What are you doing?!"

Xiao Hu turned his head and saw—holy shit!

The Zhu Family Four Brothers had returned.

They glared angrily at Xiao Hu perched on the wall, cursing as they charged, even picking up a few stones along the way.

Seeing that, Xiao Hu was shocked and quickly shouted back to Ye Cheng,

"Brother, run! They're coming to surround us."

"Huh?"

Ye Cheng jumped in fright, 'Damn, no way.'

But seeing Xiao Hu so anxious, he didn't dare delay and sprinted toward the wall.

"Brother, over there, over there—they're charging this way." Xiao Hu pointed to the adjacent wall, and Ye Cheng quickly turned and ran that way.

Just as he reached the wall's base, he heard Li Dama's voice from the courtyard,

"Don't you dare leave! Get down here!"

Ye Cheng looked back, his pupils contracting—Li Dama was wielding a bloody kitchen knife, with specks of blood on her face, walking straight toward him with a ferocious expression.

"Brother, see? I told you this old lady isn't good—hurry up!" Xiao Hu was also terrified.

It wasn't that they couldn't beat her; it was just that thinking of the old lady as a perverted killer made his legs feel weak.

American horror is about ugly brawny men; Chinese horror's scariest thing is an old lady—now Li Dama chasing people with a knife is a blend of East and West.

Even if you gave Xiao Hu ten times the courage, he still wouldn't dare do anything now.

Ye Cheng also panicked, scrambled up the wall in a few moves, and Xiao Hu helped pull him up from above.

"Ah, don't run, don't run!" Li Dama shouted anxiously when she saw both of them on the wall top.

At the same time, the Zhu brothers reached the gate, pushed it, and found it locked.

The old lady's voice from inside was frantic; he immediately panicked, pointing at the two on the wall,

"You three, go block them—don't let them escape—I'll kick the door in to see how Mother is."

Having said that, Lao Er and the other two chased after Ye Cheng and company, cornering the two on the wall.

Zhu Liwen himself slammed his shoulder into the gate twice, bursting it open.

Upon entering, Zhu Liwen was horrified—Mother held a knife, her face covered in blood: 'Mother, what happened? Why is your face all bloody—did they do this?'

"Damn, you two, taking advantage of us being out to bully Mother—I'll fight you to the death."

"What are you standing there for? Hurry up and drag them down!"

With Zhu Liwen's furious shout, the three brothers didn't hesitate—they leapt up and grabbed Ye Cheng and Xiao Hu's feet.

They dodged a few times, but the wall top was so narrow there was nowhere to dodge.

"Xiao Hu, go down and take them on, then run." Ye Cheng, no longer wanting to hide, said, 'Just fight it out.'

"Okay!"

Xiao Hu spotted the chance, launched a tiger-like pounce, and directly knocked Lao Er and Lao San to the ground.

Ye Cheng did the same, jumped down, kicked Lao Si over, the two rolled up to their feet and ran toward the motorcycle.

Unexpectedly, after just two steps, Zhu Liwen chased out with Lady Li from the courtyard, blocking their motorcycle behind him, and at this point the cleaver was already in Zhu Liwen's hand.

Ye Cheng weighed it up, bare fists against a cleaver—no match—so he pointed behind him,

"Xiao Hu, this way."

"Block them! Don't let them get away!" Zhu Liwen pointed his cleaver, his face full of killing intent.

The three Zhu brothers had already risen, each grimy-faced, half-crouched, staring at the two like several vicious wolves.

Old grudges not settled, new grievances piled up—this feud cannot be passed over.

Ye Cheng and Xiao Hu had no choice for the moment, only able to retreat two steps, leaning against the courtyard wall, lest they be attacked from front and back.

"Brother, I said that old lady isn't anything good," Xiao Hu said while keeping his eyes on the Zhu brothers.

Ye Cheng gave a bitter laugh,

"Damn, how would I know this old lady would play so dirty? No wonder she could bring four such sons."

He furtively placed his hand behind him, began feeling for his phone, preparing to call the police from behind, then stall for time; as for whether the police could arrive in time, that really was left to fate.
