Chapter 78: A Small Gesture for Da Liu
Damn, spider snails, so many spider snails, on this reef there are densely packed many spider snails.
Just now he pressed his hand onto a spider snail and got pricked.
"Xiao Hu, Xiao Hu, come over here, there are lots of spider snails." Ye Cheng shouted loudly.
"Ah, coming." Xiao Hu, upon hearing there were spider snails, excitedly ran over.
Before Ye Cheng could warn him, this guy jumped down right away.
Ye Cheng helplessly covered his face; sure enough, Xiao Hu slipped and sat down on his butt.
Ouch!
Xiao Hu let out a miserable cry; fortunately Ye Cheng stuck out his foot to cushion him, otherwise his head could have been smashed.
"Damn, I just said one less sentence, can you be more steady?"
Xiao Hu rubbed his butt and stood up, "It's not that I ran fast just because you said there was goods, huh."
"Then, if there's goods and you go any faster, you'll be seeing God."
Xiao Hu looked at the reef, and instantly his butt didn't hurt; he went up, grabbed a knife, and started prying off spider snails.
Spider snails are big and have strong suction; on the beach it's okay, but on the reef, without tools it's really hard to get them off.
Ye Cheng didn't bring a small knife, so he could only use a shovel to start scooping.
Fortunately the shovel given by the system was of good quality and sharp enough; a light pry and it came off.
Above, many were crawling densely; after the two of them picked for a while, they hadn't even finished half, but the two buckets were already full.
No choice, they had to let Xiao Hu go get the snakeskin bag, while Ye Cheng continued prying.
Xiao Hu ran very fast; Ye Cheng had only pried off four or five when he returned, young people's bodies are just good.
Although he himself is also young, Ye Cheng's mindset is no longer young; making him sprint in this place, his body can handle it, but his mind cannot.
They poured the spider snails from the buckets into the snakeskin bag; this thing isn't afraid of lacking water, and the two continued prying.
In total they got over thirty spider snails, filling an entire snakeskin bag.
"Brother, we struck it rich today."
"Promising, keep at it."
The two crawled out from this reef area, walked forward a stretch, then crossed another reef area.
This beach is a shallow water area, with few rocks; after just two steps, the two discovered a shallow water depression.
Inside, a group of white shrimp were leisurely blowing in the sea breeze.
"Damn, it's freezing, and you're still blowing sea breeze?"
"Brother, find you guys a warm place to stay."
In such a shallow water depression, the shrimp really have nowhere to run; Ye Cheng and Xiao Hu can casually cast a net and catch a few, much easier than catching shrimp in the deep water area before.
This whole area consists of such small water depressions; the two walked along, and after a stretch they found another patch of white shrimp, it seems this area is a gathering spot for white shrimp.
The two weren't polite; upon seeing them they scooped them into the bucket, and not long after they had filled more than half a bucket, carrying it became somewhat strenuous.
Ye Cheng looked up at the sky, feeling time was running short, and the burst skill's time had long passed.
If they walked farther, they'd likely only get back to Liu Village after dark.
Ye Cheng hadn't prepared for nighttime sea gathering today, so he called out to Xiao Hu, and the two began heading back along the original route, meanwhile checking for any fish that slipped through the net.
Having just passed the reef where they caught spider crabs, Ye Cheng casually looked toward the sea and saw a slightly shallower pool.
Just as he was about to turn his head, he saw a splash of water fly up in the pool.
There's goods!
Ye Cheng walked over, took a glance, and his eyes widened.
"Damn, you guys are eating hot pot, huh?"
In a small pool, four blue-clothed fish were crammed in there, each barely able to move.
Probably during low tide they didn't pick a good spot and got dragged down.
He wasn't polite either; this time he didn't even need to go in, just stood on the rock and scooped them up.
No matter how hard they struggled, they couldn't escape being netted, but Ye Cheng also ran into a problem: the bucket was too small.
"Xiao Hu, bring the water tank over, there are fish." Ye Cheng shouted.
Xiao Hu stood several meters ahead; hearing Ye Cheng call him, he turned with a weary expression: "Brother, the water tank is a bit heavy, I can't move it alone, you take the snakeskin bag first."
Earlier the water tank had held fish and blue crabs, plus seawater to keep them alive; it's normal that Xiao Hu can't move it.
No choice, he could only have Xiao Hu come over and use the snakeskin bag to hold them first.
Two fish went in, Xiao Hu immediately felt pressure; the blue-clothed fish are naturally large, these two are medium-sized, once inside they struggled fiercely, leaving Xiao Hu only able to grip the bag's opening tightly.
After Ye Cheng scooped up the other two, Xiao Hu without a word slung the snakeskin bag onto his back and ran toward the water tank.
It's still safer to put them in the tank.
Ye Cheng was about to follow when he saw two antenna-like things extending from the pool's bottom.
This is too familiar, a lobster.
I didn't expect such a small pool to have so much stuff.
Ye Cheng is a bit afraid of crabs, but not of lobsters; he reached down, pressed it, and scooped it out of the mud—a large individual small blue dragon, and also a high-value catch.
When Xiao Hu returned and saw the small blue dragon in the bucket, he was shocked, shaking his head repeatedly, unable to comprehend how Ye Cheng's sea gathering could be so easy.
The two searched the area again; no more small blue dragons, but they found two more spider snails, several sea cucumbers, and some pounds of white shrimp.
Really there was nothing left; Ye Cheng called out, and he and Xiao Hu lifted their haul and headed back.
Ye Cheng checked the time; it was already 6 p. m., the sky was getting dark, and he didn't know where Da Liu had ridden his motorcycle to.
Returning to Liu Village, from afar he saw Da Liu and them still squatting by the beach smoking.
As soon as Da Liu saw Ye Cheng and them return, he called out, and several people came up, vying to help.
Ye Cheng hurriedly stepped in to stop him, "No need, no need, we can lift it, there isn't much stuff."
"Oh, it's fine, it's fine, come, lend a hand." Da Liu directly reached out and lifted it.
As soon as he took hold, his hand sank a bit.
"Holy shit, that's a lot, A Cheng." Da Liu said with a grin.
Ye Cheng gave an embarrassed laugh, this is like a weasel paying New Year's greetings to a chicken.
A group of people carried the things back to the beach, Da Liu spoke first, "Well, your motorcycle is here, there's still plenty of fuel, the brothers have been standing guard here all along to protect your motorcycle's safety."
Ye Cheng gave a light laugh, handed the bucket in his hand to Da Liu, "Come, this is just a token of my thanks, trouble you brothers."
Da Liu took a look, there were two Spider Snails and two Blue Crabs in the bucket, the corners of his mouth immediately turned up.
"You're being so polite, there must still be plenty of good stuff in this Water Tank."
Da Liu took the things while greedily eyeing the Water Tank.
"Not much, just a few fish."
Before coming back, Ye Cheng had already figured it out, Da Liu would definitely not be able to pass this test, so he ought to give something.
