Chapter 52: Demand An Explanation
In the quiet room, Claptrap had already taken control of the space. No electronic device could leak any information.
The Artificial Intelligence at Sacred Heart Hospital was not simple. Restricted by its hardware, Claptrap could not temporarily take it over, but taking control of a single room posed no problem.
Li Yu took a purple sniper rifle out of his System Space. The faintly glowing gun barrel measured nearly two meters long.
The icy touch made Li Yu reluctant to let go. He gently stroked it. The Magnetic Confinement Ion Sniper Rifle was the first genuinely good item he had obtained, serving as a D-rank weapon.
Lethal technological weapons rarely had clear plus or minus sub-grades because factors like energy sources, distance, and environment would affect them. They were only classified by their approximate power.
Pressing the Proof of the Decepticons gently against the Magnetic Confinement Ion Sniper Rifle, the metallic glowing Decepticon emblem blended seamlessly into the weapon like milk mixing with water.
Subsequently, the purple sniper rifle began to tremble. Light burst forth as fine metallic cracks surfaced, making it look as though it were about to shatter.
The Proof of the Decepticons contained the power of the Spark. A Spark could transform technological items into Transformers.
Clack-clack-clack!
It was covered in purple armor plating. The thick gun barrel had split to form its limbs, while its eyes were formed from the divided scope. Within its chest swirled a glowing purple vortex—its Energy Core.
"Purple Sniper reporting to the Commander!" Purple Sniper respectfully knelt on one knee, expressing its loyalty to Li Yu. Just like Claptrap, a mysterious bonding power had already tied them to Li Yu.
Even for a technological creation, altering its underlying code could not change this fact.
"Purple Sniper, a good name..." Li Yu nodded. It seemed these Transformers named themselves the moment they were born.
"Claptrap, go on the Black Hole Network and purchase some combat techniques for armed robots," Li Yu instructed.
"Understood..."
Claptrap followed the order. Such data was everywhere on the Black Hole Network and was not expensive. It quickly found numerous mechanical combat techniques and downloaded them into Purple Sniper's body.
"Can you still snipe targets in this form?" Li Yu asked.
"I can, though the power is significantly reduced. However, because the distance to the target is shortened, the overall lethality remains about the same."
Purple Sniper demonstrated for Li Yu. Its arms pressed together, gears interlocking, and a gun barrel roughly half a meter long took shape.
Li Yu nodded in satisfaction. To his surprise, Purple Sniper did not just have two forms—a sniper rifle and a robot. It could also shrink into something resembling a vest, allowing it to be carried around and used as a breastplate.
Clank-clank!
Patting his own chest, Li Yu felt even more satisfied.
He then took out the Spice. The substance emitted an alluring fragrance. This scent was not unfamiliar to Li Yu; it smelled exactly like a perfume from his previous life that he had once been obsessed with.
Smelling the long-lost aroma, Li Yu let out a long sigh, though his eyes remained clear. The Spice itself had no scent; what it evoked was the smell of one's own desires.
Leaning close to the Spice and taking a gentle sniff, the pale golden glow turned into tassels of light that surged up his nose. Like mint shooting straight into his brain, Li Yu's mind violently jolted.
His pupils dilated, and the entire room began to tremble. The pristine white curtains fluttered without any wind, and his Corporeal Form began to quiver slightly.
In the next room, Mo Duo opened her eyes again. She noticed the commotion next door, unleashing a Psionic Outburst that was almost tangible.
She reached into her clothes and pulled out a black sphere. It was only the size of a thumb, pitch-black, and looked filthy.
At this moment, it was emitting a dark green radiance, flickering incessantly.
"To break through the E-class Mental Barrier so quickly and step straight into the E+ rank... what kind of secrets are you hiding?" Mo Duo murmured with her head lowered, pondering something unknown.
"Amazing..." Li Yu opened his eyes and let out a long breath of relief. Compared to the agony of Gene fusion, inhaling the Spice felt like the complete opposite.
It was extraordinarily euphoric, incredibly blissful. It felt even better than the rhythmic shuddering of physical intimacy—an indescribable wave of pure pleasure.
He was not sure if this was due to the unique nature of the Spice, or if every Mental Power breakthrough felt this way.
He stood rooted to the spot, his eyes wide open as he watched the flashes of fire sporadically erupting in the night sky. After a long while, he finally raised a question. "Where is my Navigator Talent?"
The Spice was very peculiar, possessing both ethereal and tangible qualities. One part transformed into Mental Power, while the physical remainder settled deep within his mind.
The description for the Spice clearly stated that there was a certain probability of acquiring the Navigator Talent.
Even though he had no idea what this Talent actually was.
"I am obviously incredibly lucky. I even managed to experience transmigrating to another world, yet you won't give me the Navigator Talent?" Li Yu muttered, unsure of who he was even talking to.
It was not until the blazing star rose that Tu Rui returned with his men. He wore a gloomy expression, carrying the visibly excited Little Demon Giant in his arms.
His clothes were neat and tidy, without the slightest speck of dirt. As expected, the guy definitely had not joined the fight himself—after all, he had brought his son along.
The other boxers, however, were in a miserable state. Every single one of them was covered in dirt and grime. Their numbers had plummeted drastically, leaving barely half of the group that had originally set out. Clearly, many had perished in the skirmish.
"Things didn't go smoothly, Manager Tu..." Li Yu teased slightly. After receiving yesterday's rewards, his confidence was significantly bolstered.
Tu Rui shot him a cold glance. An unbelievable suspicion surfaced in his mind, his yellowed tusks gleaming with a cold edge. "Did you have anything to do with what happened last night?"
As soon as these words were spoken, the boxers cast strange looks his way, their gazes laced with resentment and fury.
However, keeping in mind that Li Yu had previously slain Great Waves, and seeing the massive axe currently strapped to his back, none of them dared to voice their anger.
"What happened last night?" Li Yu asked in confusion. He genuinely did not know; he had only seen the flashes of fire.
"We were just tracking the Ghost Squad, but the Mithril Church suddenly popped out of nowhere. There was also a squad from Dark Star. In the end, a baffling number of people showed up out of the blue, setting off a massive free-for-all brawl."
Tu Rui said, gnashing his teeth. If he had not done business with the Ghost Squad a few times in the past, they probably would not have even accepted his request at such a critical juncture.
But now, after yesterday's chaotic battle, he was left with absolutely nothing.
"Haha..." Li Yu could not hold back a laugh, instantly drawing a murderous glare from Tu Rui.
Buzz!
At that moment, his Smart Terminal vibrated. He glanced down at it—Widow.
She was also coming to Demand An Explanation. What a coincidence.
"I am going to take a call..." Acting as if there was no one else around, Li Yu walked straight into... Mo Duo's room.
"Manager, should we..."
Just then, a boxer staggered forward. Covered in blood and sporting several deep gashes, he was a member of the Interstellar Humans.
He raised his hand and made a slicing motion across his throat, his intentions self-evident.
Tu Rui narrowed his eyes, remaining noncommittal.
