Chapter 57: Uncle, You Have to Hold On!

Fortunately, Li Yu had established a solid priority of targets. After a brief moment of shock, Mo Duo and Hunter immediately rolled across the floor, desperately scrambling for cover within the confines of the cramped room.

"Fuck... how are they so fast!" Hunter cursed, maintaining high alert as he watched his surroundings.

"Stop!" A bizarre sound tumbled from Li Yu's lips as he activated his Alluring Voice Ability, causing his Mental Power to surge outward in a torrential wave.

It was painfully obvious that the two figures before him were no Ordinary Lifeforms. His nearly depleted Mental Power only managed to make them pause for a mere fraction of a second.

However, that brief pause was all Li Yu needed to react. Purple Sniper shot out from his body, transforming in mid-air. Its speed skyrocketed, slamming into the two squad members like a speeding locomotive with the momentum of an Unstoppable Force, its dual arms striking down like heavy hammers.

A deafening crash echoed through the room! The sheer impact forced the two ten-foot-tall armored brutes to stumble backward.

At the same time, Li Yu drew the massive axe from his back. He bent his knees, shattering the floor beneath his feet as he launched himself into the air. Like a phantom, he blurred straight toward one of the armored giants.

The crimson axe cleaved downward, aiming right for the head. Yet, at the very last second, the two enemies broke free from the control of the Bewitching Sound Seed and tilted their heads ever so slightly.

Clang!

And yet, all that overwhelming force managed to do was leave a shallow white scratch across the enemy's pauldron.

Simultaneously, the gears inside the opponent's massive arms kicked into overdrive. Accompanied by the roaring of machinery, a tremendous amount of power flooded the limbs as they swept inward, attempting to crush Li Yu alive and turn him into a pulpy Meat Paste.

Crash!

Li Yu kicked off against the enemy's chassis, using the momentum to flip backward and evade the deadly embrace of the converging mechanical arms.

On the other side, Purple Sniper displayed unparalleled agility. It danced around the second opponent, launching a barrage of attacks that rang out with a constant symphony of clinks and clatters. The member of the Ghost Squad could barely keep up with Purple Sniper's blinding speed.

However, Purple Sniper was equally incapable of breaking through the enemy's defenses. The Armor plating they wore was simply far too thick and heavy.

"Their defense is at least at the D+ Grade..." Li Yu muttered, his arms still tingling with numbness. The pilots beneath the Armor were likely nowhere near that strong, otherwise they would never have been influenced by his Alluring Voice Ability.

But thanks to the Amplification provided by the suits, their head-on combat prowess had skyrocketed.

The mechanical arms continued their relentless assault. The wrist section of the suit split open, extending a sleek black handle outward.

A long electromagnetic whip slowly uncoiled from the hilt, crackling with sharp pops and snaps. It writhed through the air like a slithering serpent of pure Electricity.

"Damn it!" Li Yu cursed under his breath. He activated Bullet Time, and the speed of the incoming electrical whip instantly dropped to a crawl.

He sidestepped to evade the strike, bringing down the crimson axe in an attempt to sever the structural core of the whip. However, sparks of energy immediately crawled up the weapon's shaft. Thankfully, the hilt of his axe was equipped with an insulating grip.

'I need to give Great Waves a thumbs up for that one!'

The electric whip thrashed like a frenzied snake, creating an airtight net of attacks. Li Yu flipped and vaulted constantly, narrowly avoiding the lashes on several occasions.

'I can't keep this up. I need to think of a plan!'

Li Yu shot a glance at Purple Sniper. If he used its close-range sniping capabilities, he might just be able to tear through their defenses. The Helmet had to be their weak point.

'The sniper from before couldn't block it, but these guys' Armor seems vastly superior... I don't know for sure...'

Gritting his teeth, Li Yu knew he had to try. Otherwise... his only option would be to run away on his own...

Yes, he could easily escape. With Purple Sniper assisting him, these two behemoths wouldn't be able to stop him if he truly wanted to leave.

But... Hunter and Mo Duo...

"Li Yu!" Mo Duo shouted from the corner of the room, her eyes flickering with determination. Catching his attention, she gritted her teeth and pulled a Green Orb from her jacket.

"Over here!"

Li Yu's eyes instantly lit up. She really did have some extra stock hidden away.

The crimson axe tore across the room, spinning violently in mid-air as it spewed out Crimson Flame. Li Yu had hurled it directly at the enemy. The weapon was forged from E-rank materials at best, and after the intense clash just moments ago, distinct cracks had already spiderwebbed across the blade.

Taking advantage of the brief obstruction created by the massive axe, Li Yu leaped toward Mo Duo's position. The room wasn't particularly large to begin with, and his speed was phenomenal.

Crack! Just as the armored brute smashed the crimson axe into flying shards with a single punch, Li Yu's hand closed tightly around the Green Orb.

The instant the orb touched his palm, Li Yu's eyes flooded with a brilliant emerald glow as an endless, torrential sea of Mental Power filled his mind.

"Stop!"

He activated the Alluring Voice Ability once more. This time, the Green Orb erupted with an intense, blinding radiance, and the two massive mechs instantly ceased all movement.

It wasn't a brief pause or a split-second stutter. They froze completely, locked entirely in place.

With Li Yu clutching the Green Orb, the rapidly draining Mental Power in his mind was constantly being replenished, allowing him to sustain the output of the Alluring Voice Ability without interruption.

"What is this thing?" Li Yu asked with a look of astonishment, staring at the Green Orb in his hand. He could clearly feel a boundless, unending stream of Mental Power being drawn into his body.

If his own Mental Power was merely a shallow well, then this artifact was a boundless ocean.

Mo Duo stood up in silence and reminded him, "You'd better hurry up and deal with the two of them."

Li Yu raised an eyebrow and channeled his Alluring Voice Ability: "Take off the Armor!"

The air violently rippled. Hunter felt as though a grenade had just detonated right next to his ears.

Hissing with depressurizing air, the chest plates of the two mechs sprang open. Two Interstellar Humans stepped out, their eyes wide with absolute terror.

"Commit suicide!" Li Yu issued his final command. Without any hesitation or warning, the two soldiers' eyes rolled back into their heads as they collapsed to the floor, completely devoid of any Life Aura.

The sensation of recklessly expending his Mental Power like this felt incredibly intoxicating to Li Yu.

"You can give it back now..." Mo Duo held out her hand, her emerald eyes looking exceptionally clear.

Li Yu stared into her eyes, still tightly gripping the Green Orb in his hand. Off to the side, Hunter was trembling with fear, his heart pounding erratically against his ribs.

'No way... you aren't going to kill your own man, are you?'

Hunter couldn't help but be terrified. If Li Yu actually committed such a monstrous act, he would undoubtedly be the next one to die.

Fortunately, after a brief moment, Li Yu handed over the orb. The instant Mo Duo took it back, a wave of intense nausea washed over him, making it feel as if a swarm of ticks was writhing around inside his brain.

"This sphere contains the Mental Power of others. Channeling it through your own brain leaves behind this kind of side effect," Mo Duo explained.

Fighting down the urge to vomit, Li Yu approached the two mechs, attempting to scavenge some equipment. To his dismay, the suits were completely locked down, requiring a multi-layered verification of voiceprints, fingerprints, and Genes.

"Can you hack this?" Li Yu asked Claptrap.

"I can, but it will take several hours..."

"Several hours?" Li Yu pondered. The Ghost Squad was undoubtedly aware of their location by now. Was it really worth taking on such a massive risk to wait around for several hours, all for the sake of these two mechs?

"Forget it..." He shook his head. It wasn't worth the danger. Besides, he still had other business to take care of.

"Uncle Hunter..." Li Yu called out.

Hunter shuddered violently, an icy chill shooting from his tailbone straight up to his brain. Danger!

Ten minutes later, panting heavily with bloodshot eyes, Li Yu carried Hunter on his back as they headed downstairs. Hunter was covered in blood, his arms swaying limply, his face contorted in sheer agony.

"Uncle, you have to hold on!!" Li Yu shouted with profound, genuine emotion.

Downstairs, the timid and cowering Red-Skinned Lizard-Person was still hiding in a corner. Surprisingly, he hadn't fled yet.

"Get the hell out here!" Li Yu roared furiously, yanking the creature out into the open. His eyes looked like they were about to breathe fire, his face twisted in absolute rage.

"Where is the nearest... the best... Clinic around here!" he demanded, forcefully pressing down on the red-skinned Lizard-Person's head, appearing incredibly violent and irritable.
