Chapter 9: Arrest

In the café, Secretary Yao kept probing and questioning Nie Huaishang, and Nie Huaishang answered each one with breezy composure.

After a round of probing and questioning, Secretary Yao confirmed that Nie Huaishang was the superior sent by the organization; after all, her own identity was very secret, and apart from the organization, basically no one knew her true identity.

After some conversation, Nie Huaishang said to Secretary Yao: "Whether the organization's mission this time succeeds depends entirely on you."

Secretary Yao kept assuring him, and Nie Huaishang said nothing more, turned and left. He did not go to see Guo Jing and the others, but contacted them through the chat group.

Nie Huaishang: "Everyone, the fish has taken the bait. Secretary Yao already believes my identity. Tomorrow Zhang Xiaofan and I will go control the situation."

"The two of us alone can fully keep the situation under control. When you get my message, rush in."

Guo Jing: "When the time comes, we can force Zhang Haiyan to take our side."

The next day, when meeting up with Secretary Yao, she saw Zhang Xiaofan beside Nie Huaishang. Nie Huaishang explained:

"To make sure the mission goes smoothly, I brought along an assassin."

"Fine, I'll take you two to Zhang Haiyan's office right now."

So the two followed Secretary Yao to Zhang Haiyan's office.

Meanwhile, on the other side, Dog-Head Old Gao, upon learning that Nie Huaishang and Zhang Xiaofan had already gone to the company to make arrests, was dumbfounded on the spot.

"Yesterday I told you so earnestly—don't act rashly, don't act rashly—and you just rush headlong into the enemy's headquarters like this? Do you even know how many people they have?"

Just then, Guo Jing received a message from Nie Huaishang.

Nie Huaishang: "The matter is already wrapped up."

Seeing this, Guo Jing felt relieved.

Meanwhile, back at Nie Huaishang's side, Zhang Xiaofan had already taken Secretary Yao's pistol and was gripping her throat tightly, while Nie Huaishang's pistol was also pressed against Zhang Haiyan's forehead.

At this moment, Zhang Haiyan felt that too much had happened today—the moment she entered her office, her most trusted secretary had a gun pressed to her forehead.

She saw a young man say to her warmly: "Sorry about this, Senior Mole. To complete the mission the organization gave me, and to live up to Boss Black Cat's trust in me, I could only resort to this underhanded measure."

Hearing this, Zhang Haiyan's face filled with terror. Scenes from the past suddenly floated up in her mind—K2 had found this place once again.

These two were the assassins sent by the organization. Nie Huaishang waved his hand at Secretary Yao and said:

"Hummingbird, put the gun down. After all, the work ahead of us needs Mole's cooperation."

Hearing Nie Huaishang's words, Secretary Yao lowered her pistol. The instant the gun was down, Zhang Xiaofan behind her suddenly struck, snatched Secretary Yao's pistol away, and kicked Secretary Yao flying out.

Nie Huaishang, still in his chair, leaped into the air and tackled Zhang Haiyan to the ground, smoothly taking the pistol from Zhang Xiaofan and pressing it against Zhang Haiyan's forehead.

Zhang Xiaofan, pressing the advantage against Secretary Yao, stomped twice on each of her arms in turn, breaking both of Secretary Yao's arms.

Secretary Yao instinctively tried to get up and flee, just about to perform a carp-kick-up to escape.

Zhang Xiaofan's third stomp landed directly on her thigh. With a sharp "Crack!", Secretary Yao's thigh bone snapped clean through.

With only one leg left, she couldn't perform a carp-kick-up either, but Zhang Xiaofan clearly had no intention of letting her go—he stomped her last remaining leg and broke it too.

All four limbs broken, Zhang Xiaofan gripped Secretary Yao's neck with his hand.

The sudden turn of events made the situation increasingly bewildering. Zhang Haiyan forced herself to stay calm and asked the two: "Who exactly are you?"

Secretary Yao, off to the side, also glared at the two with venom. As an assassin, not only had she been played, she'd been captured.

Nie Huaishang smiled at Zhang Haiyan and said: "Miss Zhang, I truly don't understand—with such fine education, an excellent business mind, and broad connections—"

"even without K2 organization's financial backing you could have achieved great things. Why become a terrorist?"

Hearing Nie Huaishang's words, Zhang Haiyan couldn't help but smile bitterly: "Sigh, I was too young back then and made some mistakes. Now even if I want to change, it's too late."

"Mole, are you trying to betray the organization, betray Black Cat? You'd better think through the consequences."

Secretary Yao snarled at Zhang Haiyan. Hearing Secretary Yao's words, Zhang Xiaofan punched her in the stomach.

"Honestly, where does all this nonsense come from? Can't you read the situation?"

Zhang Xiaofan said impatiently.

Nie Huaishang stepped forward to comfort her: "Miss Zhang, even if you won't consider yourself, you should consider your daughter. Think about it—if your identity is exposed, what will become of your daughter?"

"I think, for your daughter's sake, you should make your choice, shouldn't you?"

After hearing Nie Huaishang's words, Zhang Haiyan asked heavily: "What do you need me to do?"

"Miss Zhang, you needn't be nervous. I've already contacted people from the military. Presumably, before long, Miss Zhang will assist the military in arresting K2's assassins and in breaking the K2 organization's conspiracy."

Nie Huaishang said warmly, comforting her.

Although Zhang Haiyan was very fearful of Black Cat, the current situation left her with no way to back down.

Just then, the office door was kicked open with a bang. Seeing Nie Huaishang and Zhang Xiaofan completely unharmed, Dog-Head Old Gao breathed a sigh of relief.

Nie Huaishang had just stepped forward to greet Dog-Head Old Gao when he was met with a fist. Dog-Head Old Gao roared: "What did I tell you yesterday? Don't act rashly. Is this how you answered me?"

Nie Huaishang rubbed his swollen cheek where Dog-Head Old Gao had hit him and said lazily:

"Alright, Gao Shu, although the process was very risky, our gains are considerable. We successfully arrested K2's mole here, and we also obtained a large amount of intelligence on this organization."

Upon learning of K2 organization's plan and its moles in East Sea City, Dog-Head Old Gao was utterly shocked.

On the way out, Dog-Head Old Gao asked Nie Huaishang: "That Zhang Haiyan is also a mole of K2 organization, right?"

"Correct."

Nie Huaishang said matter-of-factly.

"Then why did you say she wasn't?"

Dog-Head Old Gao asked, puzzled.

"I suspect Black Cat left more moles than just these, and Zhang Haiyan doesn't seem truly loyal to Black Cat. We can win her over and give her a chance to redeem herself with meritorious service."

"Zhang Haiyan knows too many of the Black Cat's secrets. The Black Cat cannot accept her betrayal; he will surely come personally to eliminate this traitor, Zhang Haiyan."

"Whether we can keep him alive then depends on you, Gao Shu."

After Nie Huaishang finished speaking, he glanced at Gou Tou Lao Gao.
