Chapter 1910

Time passed quickly; in the blink of an eye, it was noon. The test results finally came out: his body had recovered well and had reached the standard expected of an ordinary person.

"Son, congratulations!" Li Mu hugged Li Hao excitedly. "That's wonderful! My son is healthy again!"

"Mm." A trace of moisture gathered at the corners of Li Hao's eyes, but he struggled hard to control his emotions.

"That's great!" Li Mu said excitedly. "I've decided to take you to the swimming pool for a swim."

"Ah... I'm afraid that's not a good idea?" Li Hao said awkwardly, thinking of his mother's stern scoldings in the past.

"Your body has recovered now; why worry so much?" His mother glared at him. "Let's go. We haven't swum together in ages. Today, you'll do as I say."

"Mom, I'm really a bit tired. How about another day?" Li Hao said.

"Stop talking nonsense, let's go," his mother said, grabbing Li Hao's arm and pulling him outside.

Li Hao couldn't resist his mother, so he had to go to the swimming pool with her.

By the poolside, Li Hao soaked comfortably while his mother sat on the edge, chatting with friends on her phone. Li Hao didn't pay attention to her; after all, it didn't affect him. He prayed in his heart: Please, let it not be cancer.

His mother suddenly looked up at him.

Li Hao immediately averted his gaze. He dared not meet his mother's eyes, fearing he would reveal his inner secret.

After a long while, his mother suddenly sighed.

"Son, what's wrong?"

"Oh, I'm fine, Mom!" Li Hao said lightly.

"You rascal, you can fool others, but not me. You're definitely troubled! Speak, is it because of that Chen Yating?" His mother stared at Li Hao and asked.

Li Hao remained silent, but that was tantamount to admitting it.

"Son, you must not do something foolish. She's an old maid; she's not worthy of you! Find a beautiful, vain, virtuous, and sensible girl; that suits you. Do you hear me?" His mother advised.

Li Hao forced a bitter smile and said, "Mom, don't worry about things that aren't your concern. Don't meddle in my affairs; I can solve them myself."

"How can I not worry?" His mother grew angry. "I raised my son with such hard work; how can I hand him over to that vixen?"

"Enough, Mom," Li Hao waved his hand impatiently. "Didn't I make it clear to you long ago? I have a boyfriend."

"What did you say?" His mother was stunned. "You're in love?"

"Yes, I've been dating her for a long time." Li Hao nodded. His mother froze, her face filled with disbelief.

"Mom, actually, I've liked her for a long time; I just didn't have the courage to say it before. Now I feel it's time, so I told her." Li Hao said frankly.

"Then how did you get together? Didn't you two not speak before?" His mother asked, puzzled.

"Well, that's because..." Li Hao suddenly stammered and couldn't continue.

"Because of what?" His mother pressed.

"Because..." Li Hao suddenly had a flash of inspiration. "Because I want to do many things with her; I don't want to live aimlessly like before."

After hearing this, his mother said nothing, looking at him thoughtfully. She knew her son had grown up and had his own thoughts and pursuits. But she was still somewhat worried; after all, her son had just recovered, and he couldn't be overworked.

"Then you must take good care of yourself and not overwork." His mother instructed.

"I know." Li Hao nodded.

The two chatted for a while, and his mother suddenly asked about the nurse from before.

"By the way, son, when you were unconscious, those two nurses took such good care of you. One of them is still single, and she's so pretty..." His mother stopped speaking here.

Hearing this, Li Hao's heart skipped a beat; thinking of that shy nurse from before, he was at a loss for what to do. But he still pretended to be calm and said, "Mom, don't worry; I have my own ideas."

After hearing this, his mother smiled and didn't continue. She knew her son's character was quite independent; he had his own opinions and ideas and wouldn't easily follow others' arrangements. So she changed the topic and chatted about other things.

During this time, Li Hao actively exercised, striving to recover to his best state. Every day, he went to the gym to exercise for about an hour, then swam for about half an hour. His body gradually became stronger, and his complexion improved more and more.

Chapter 1251: Confession

One day, his mother was cooking in the kitchen while Li Hao watched TV in the living room. Suddenly, he heard a cry of surprise from the kitchen.

Li Hao immediately jumped up from the sofa and rushed into the kitchen. He saw his mother clutching her finger, her face showing some pain.

"Mom, what's wrong?" Li Hao asked nervously.

"Nothing, nothing." His mother shook her head. "I just accidentally cut my finger."

Seeing the fresh blood flowing from his mother's finger, Li Hao felt a bit panicked. He quickly fetched a bandage and applied it to his mother.

"Mom, don't cook today; I'll order takeout." Li Hao said worriedly.

"No need, no need," his mother waved her hands repeatedly. "I can still cook."

Li Hao couldn't resist his mother, so he had to let her continue cooking. He helped in the kitchen washing and chopping vegetables, doing whatever he could. Although he was a bit flustered, he finally got the meal ready.

After finishing the meal, Li Hao rushed to wash the dishes. His mother couldn't resist him, so she let him wash them. While washing the dishes, Li Hao suddenly realized he hadn't done any housework in a long time. Before, his mother had taken on all the housework alone, including cooking, washing dishes, and laundry. Not only had he not helped share the load, but he had often caused his mother worry. Thinking of this, Li Hao felt a bit guilty.

After washing the dishes, Li Hao returned to the living room to watch TV. His mother was resting in her room; Li Hao heard her coughing. He felt somewhat uneasy, thinking that his mother's health had always been poor and that she had undergone surgery before, so he decided to pour a glass of water and take it to her.

Li Hao carried a glass of water to his mother's bedside and saw her resting with her eyes closed. He gently placed the water on the nightstand, then called softly, "Mom, would you like some water?"

His mother opened her eyes, looked at him, and nodded with a smile. Li Hao saw some exhaustion on his mother's face and couldn't help but feel worried. He sat by the bedside and chatted with his mother for a while.

After a while, his mother suddenly asked about Li Hao's previous unconsciousness. Li Hao didn't hide anything and told his mother everything that had happened. Although he was somewhat worried about his mother's health condition, seeing that her complexion looked quite good, he felt relieved.

After chatting for a while longer, his mother suddenly asked about that nurse. Li Hao immediately grew nervous; he didn't know if his mother was still worried about his health condition. So he quickly explained, "Mom, don't worry; I'm much better now."

"I'm not talking about your body," his mother said with a smile. "I'm talking about you and that nurse. Do you like her?"

Li Hao's heart skipped a beat; he hadn't expected his mother to ask this question so directly. He said, somewhat at a loss, "Mom, this has nothing to do with liking or not liking."

"Then why do you care so much about her?" his mother pressed. Li Hao fell silent for a moment, not knowing what to say. He knew that the matter between him and that nurse couldn't be explained simply by liking or not liking.

"Mom, I..." Li Hao hesitated. "I think she's a very good person; she takes good care of me and cares about me."

"Then what feelings do you have for her?" his mother asked, looking into his eyes.

Li Hao nervously rubbed his hands together; he knew he could no longer avoid this question.

"I think... I think I like her." Li Hao's voice trembled slightly.

After hearing this, his mother said nothing, just looking at him silently. Li Hao waited nervously for her response.

After quite a while, his mother finally spoke: "Son, if you like her, then go chase her."

Li Hao looked at his mother with some surprise; he hadn't expected her to be so supportive of his idea.

"But, Mom, my body…" Li Hao said with some worry.

"Your body has already recovered quite well," his mother comforted him, "and besides, liking someone doesn't necessarily mean you have to possess her—as long as you can watch her be happy and joyful, that's enough."

Hearing his mother's words, Li Hao couldn't help feeling a little moved. He knew his mother had always been worried about his physical condition, but at the same time she also supported his idea. He decided he would bravely pursue his own happiness.

In the days that followed, Li Hao began to work even harder at training his body, striving to recover to peak condition. Every day he would go to the gym to work out for about an hour, then swim for about half an hour. His body gradually grew stronger, and the color in his face grew better and better.

At the same time, Li Hao also began to pay attention to that nurse's movements. He often went to the nurse's station to chat with her, and sometimes invited her to eat together or watch a movie. The relationship between the two gradually grew closer, and Li Hao felt himself falling more and more for her.

One day, Li Hao asked that nurse to go watch a movie together. After the movie ended, he summoned his courage and confessed to her.

"Actually, I've liked you all along." Li Hao's voice trembled slightly.

That nurse was stunned when she heard it; she hadn't expected Li Hao to confess so directly. She looked into Li Hao's eyes, feeling a little moved in her heart.

"I… I've always felt you were really good too." That nurse said, blushing.

Hearing her response, Li Hao couldn't help feeling a little excited. He felt he already possessed happiness. The two began dating, and their feelings grew better and better.

In the days that followed, Li Hao and that nurse spent many wonderful times together. They traveled together, watched movies together, ate together, went shopping together… the feelings between the two grew deeper and deeper.

One day, Li Hao brought that nurse back home. The moment he stepped through the door, he suddenly knelt down and proposed to her.

"Marry me, will you?" Li Hao said tenderly. That nurse was startled by Li Hao's action, but she quickly reacted, blushing and lowering her head.

Li Hao stood up and gently slipped the ring onto her finger. That nurse looked into Li Hao's eyes, and moved tears slid down her face.

"I… I do." That nurse said, choking up.

Li Hao held her tightly, and the two kissed each other tenderly.

His mother heard the commotion in the living room and came out. She saw Li Hao and that nurse embracing, and a smile appeared on her face.

"Congratulations to you both!" His mother walked over and patted their shoulders.

"Thank you, Mom!" That nurse said, blushing.

"When are you two planning to get married?" his mother asked.

"We haven't decided yet," Li Hao answered, "but we'll arrange it as soon as possible."

"Alright, alright, your matters are yours to decide," his mother said with a smile, "I'll just be waiting to hold my grandson."

Li Hao and that nurse, hearing his mother's words, both laughed a little sheepishly. They looked into each other's eyes, their hearts filled with happiness and anticipation.

In the days that followed, Li Hao and that nurse began preparing for the wedding together. They picked out the rings, booked the hotel, found a wedding dress designer… everything was proceeding in an orderly fashion.

On the night before the wedding, Li Hao and that nurse sat on the balcony together looking at the stars. They talked about the days gone by, about each other's dreams and future… they knew that, starting tomorrow, their lives would undergo earth-shaking changes. But no matter what, they would walk hand in hand through life together. Li Hao tightly held her hand and said with a smile: "No matter what happens in the future, I will always stay by your side."

That nurse felt his firmness and warmth, and squeezed his hand back, saying gently: "I will also love you forever, and face the challenges of the future together."

The next day, sunlight filtered through the curtains onto their bed; Li Hao gently kissed her forehead, then got up to prepare for the wedding.

Dressed in a handsome suit, he stood before the mirror adjusting his tie, when his mother walked in, looked at him and said with a smile: "Son, you look really great."

"Thank you, Mom." Li Hao replied.
