Chapter 101: One Hundred Chapters Already!
Watching Tiancheng Guang glance at the scene twice and immediately begin solving the puzzle, Ye La, who had originally come to join the excitement, gradually grew bored.
She knew too well just how excellent Tiancheng Guang was—after all, she was the one who followed him around every day, pointing and commenting.
At present, within that school hosting the educational duel ritual, counting all faculty and students, Tiancheng Guang's skill likely ranked among the top three; thus, she wasn't surprised he could solve the puzzles.
She had mostly just wanted to join in the fun and play with these riddles, but unfortunately, many of the cards she'd never even seen before—like "The Final Warrior of the Alien Star" or "The Twin-Person Bicycle Robot"—she had no idea why they were powerful.
So she casually picked up a box of instant ramen from beside her, opened the packaging, took out one packet, poured in seasoning and hot water, picked up a fork, and began eating.
"Mmm!?" Ye La took a bite, her eyes lit up as if stars had sparkled within, "Mmm? Oh wow! Mmm, mmm!"
As a god, she had never actually eaten anything—indeed, she had never possessed such a deficiency. And though her current body wasn't particularly strong, it was still the shell of a Duel Spirit, and truly didn't require food; thus, she had never experienced this sensation before.
It felt quite nice.
While she was preparing her ramen, Tiancheng Guang had already solved the tenth problem.
"So fast! Amazing, Tiancheng Guang," Ye La said casually, still eating her noodles.
She didn't really understand it, but it just felt incredibly impressive.
After all, she had only recently begun learning duels—just a few days ago she'd barely managed her first real duel—and many cards still confused her, their purposes unclear.
She was an outsider.
The Magi-Scientist gently pushed up his glasses.
Outsiders think it's impressive because they're outsiders.
The Magi-Scientist, an insider, was already tempted to call Tiancheng Guang a superhero.
How could he respond instantly after simply glancing twice?
How could he, upon seeing only the card art and a quick scan of the text, immediately know how to clear the field—even with ultra-rare cards?
And some of these cards shouldn't even exist in your world, right?
For instance, the Old God Nuts—your world shouldn't have that, correct?
How could he instantly think to send it from the Extra Deck to the Graveyard and activate its effect to destroy cards on the field?
"How could anyone be this powerful?" the Magi-Scientist muttered, hugging his arms.
He no longer doubted Tiancheng Guang could solve every puzzle—now he only wondered how long it would take him.
He had happened to notice Tiancheng Guang only by chance, because when the Mathematician accepted the challenge, he was standing nearby; back then, he'd been intensely curious—who on earth would choose all the "Dark Magician" cards at once to challenge?
Was it confidence—or arrogance?
And worse, he even claimed to be "pursuing the ultimate fusion."
That sparked the Magi-Scientist's interest.
The ultimate fusion?
I am the Spirit who pursues the ultimate fusion—I'd like to see just how capable you are.
So he revealed himself, approached Tiancheng Guang, and struck up a conversation, simply to gauge this human's true caliber.
Originally, according to his plan, if Tiancheng Guang achieved fifteen wins, he'd grant him access to his "laboratory," allowing him to exchange cards with him.
But he never expected him to be this powerful!
Some of these card details were information he'd painstakingly gathered from other dimensions—many even unknown in human worlds, let alone the Spirit World—like the Old God, or the Wave Long Qishi.
When he first collected these details, the Spirits in his research institute went wild!
He himself spent hours upon hours designing these puzzles, yet Tiancheng Guang solved them in a single glance!
"How could he possibly know all these fusion cards?"
"What's so impressive? You're just amazed by the unfamiliar," Ye La said, having already boiled her second cup, waving her fork idly in the air, "If it's about fusion, Tiancheng Guang knows everything!"
At least, that's what he claims. I'm happy to believe him.
You're merely a Spirit living in a closed dimension—even if it's one with mutual exchange, what you encounter daily is, after all, nothing but a group of magicians.
You've barely even seen deities from other worlds or rare races from the Spirit World—how can you be so certain you understand fusion better than others?
Ye La slurped two mouthfuls of noodles, a barely noticeable smile forming on her face: "Mortals, don't let your own power limit your imagination. Judging by the Spirit energy on your body, you're already quite a powerful Spirit, perhaps even ranking among the top in this magical tribe."
But you're still just a Spirit.
He is different.
Because he was born to exist for fusion—to pursue the ultimate fusion."
"Losing to him isn't shameful."
The Magi-Scientist turned to Ye La, took a deep breath, and said to her: "I was too arrogant before. Thank you for your insight… Oh! This appearance—you're the Divine Shadow Yi·Midrash, aren't you? A rare magician indeed!"
Of course—he possesses such a rare Spirit companion; naturally, his vision wouldn't be limited.
I was the frog at the bottom of the well."
As a scholar-type Spirit, he quickly adjusted his mindset after recognizing his arrogance.
"Hey, who's his companion?" Ye La's expression turned icy. "And I'm not some mere Spirit!"
The Magi-Scientist stared at her expression, utterly baffled.
But he knew one thing—he'd made another mistake.
Indeed. He was still too self-imprisoned.
Perhaps he really should travel again—experience other dimensions now?
In any case, after some time, though a few puzzles had been failed two or three times, Tiancheng Guang solved every single riddle in an extremely short span.
Though slightly outdated, Tiancheng Guang was surprisingly delighted.
In his current world, though he could duel daily using virtual projection technology—far more enjoyable than before his transmigration—the environment was still monotonous; students' decks remained simple, and especially after acquiring the Chimera Fortress Dragon, his overwhelming dominance over ordinary students' "Ancient Machinery" decks had drained much of the fun.
But here, with the Magi-Scientist, he could use cards utterly unavailable on the market—like Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon, Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Dragon, or cards from his own world that didn't exist, such as Synchro and Xyz Monsters.
For someone who'd been dueling similar decks for so long, this was a refreshing change.
Even though they were only card projections—not real cards—it still felt incredibly satisfying.
"Incredible!" On the other side, the Magi-Scientist couldn't help but clap. His puzzles had time limits—only solutions within the limit counted—but Tiancheng Guang's speed far exceeded his set time, so he didn't even mention it: "You're the first person in the entire institute to solve all the puzzles… Therefore, as originally agreed, I'll give you the answer cards for all thirty puzzles."
As he spoke, he pulled out a box from beside him and slowly opened it—inside lay row upon row of cards.
From the earliest ones like "Red Sun Bird" and "Zhu Que," to stronger ones like "Knight of Black Flame" and "Long Qishi Gaia," and onward to even more powerful Fusion Monsters—filling the entire box.
Of course, the most important was the final card—the "Final Prize"!
The Old God Nuts!
It actually exists!
He took the box in astonishment.
Just this one card made the whole trip worth it!
