Chapter 12: Warrior's Trial!

"Intruders, explain your intentions." Black Luster Soldier looked at the two and spoke again.

"Ah, well, Black Luster Soldier, hello!" Jaden Yuki still had experience. He had almost been locked up as a mummy before. Hearing Black Luster Soldier say this, he immediately started to explain.

"... Dimension duel... I see." Black Luster Soldier nodded.

Black Luster Soldier looks unexpectedly easy to talk to!

Black Luster Soldier put away the weapon in his hand and started to introduce himself: "I am the envoy of the beginning who guards this world from invasion. At the same time, I am also one of the guards of the Underworld.

In this land of warriors, countless warriors come with the goal of becoming the strongest warrior. They try to become the strongest warrior through training."

He pointed to the distance, where countless warrior monsters were competing with their martial arts—that is, playing cards.

"Oh oh oh! My blood is boiling!!" Jaden shouted excitedly.

"I will arrange opponents for you." Black Luster Soldier continued, "Most warriors may not want to leave this world, but if there are really such warriors, that is their choice.

Here, whether it is promotion or training, it is decided by the oldest combat ritual. So, you don't need to worry."

Tiancheng nodded.

As long as it's a duel, then there's no problem.

"However—" Black Luster Soldier turned back and continued, "If you lose, you must stay here for training until the so-called dimension exploration is no longer carried out. Or until you defeat me."

"How can this be!" Jaden jumped up, quite dissatisfied.

"You also said it, right? You duel with spirits of broken dimensions to provide energy." Black Luster Soldier's handsome cold face was still expressionless, "But our world doesn't need that kind of thing."

"For me, I am here, guarding the eternal sleep of my King, guarding the gate of the Underworld, not allowing any outsiders to break in!"

He said gloomily: "This is already the biggest concession I can make."

Jaden still wanted to strive for it, but Tiancheng Guang patted his shoulder and shook his head: "Tiancheng?"

"We are intruders after all." Tiancheng Guang shook his head, "Anyway, as long as we win, it's fine."

It seems that this Black Luster Soldier is the guard of the resting place of the *Yu-Gi-Oh! * protagonist, the nameless Pharaoh—that is, the guard of the entrance to the Underworld gate that Seto Kaiba is trying his best to find!

There is no need to provoke this kind of spirit, because he is absolutely "lawful." Even if they are such intruders, as long as they are not excessive, he will not move against them.

Even, Tiancheng Guang still wants to have a good relationship.

This is a genuine top-tier spirit!

"Hmm... haha, that's right!"

"Then alright, Black Luster Soldier, hurry up and find us an opponent!" Jaden shouted at the top of his lungs.

Black Luster Soldier looked at Jaden and Tiancheng Guang for a few times, nodded slowly: "I will find suitable warriors for you."

After that, a warrior came over to clean up the environment, making the two of them not so uncomfortable.

After a while, under the gaze of everyone, two warriors with very familiar clothing and appearance came to the two of them.

"Wow! Avian, it's real, Tiancheng, look—" Jaden was overjoyed, grabbing the prison bars and excitedly leaning out.

Red mask, white wings, full of green feathers, who else could it be but "Elemental HERO Avian"?

Seeing his favorite monster appear in front of him, how could he not be excited?

And beside Avian, there was a knight riding a horse, looking quite majestic, and somewhat similar to Black Luster Soldier.

Gaia the Fierce Knight.

Two Normal Monsters?

"Don't underestimate our warriors." Black Luster Soldier spoke as a referee in the distance, "They are all elites among my warriors."

Elites?

Gaia is fine, but Avian, who only has 1000 ATK, is also an "elite." It seems that you can't let your guard down just because they are Normal Monsters.

"The rules of the match are tag duel, both sides have 8000 Life Points, share the same field, the intruder goes first, and the second player can attack." Black Luster Soldier spoke again about the rules.

It is a standard tag rule.

Tiancheng nodded.

"Then. Warrior's Ritual—start!"

"Duel!" ×2

Jaden Yuki & Tiancheng Guang, LP: 8000

Avian & Gaia, LP: 8000.

Accompanied by Black Luster Soldier's opening, Jaden Yuki and Tiancheng Guang shouted in unison, and after Jaden drew a card, he operated quickly: "Summon in Defense Position, Elemental HERO Clayman!"

Elemental HERO Clayman, Level 4, Earth, Warrior, 2000 DEF. Normal Monster.

It's the Elemental Four Trash!

"Then I set a card, end turn!"

Tiancheng Guang pressed the button on the Duel Disk to check Jaden's set card, and then his eyes blurred, and he felt dizzy.

Jaden, why did you set this thing!

"Haha, don't worry, Tiancheng, I set a Trap card in Defense Position, it's a perfect turn as a precaution—"

"My turn. Draw." Avian drew a card.

I don't know why, he doesn't look very good, the color is black.

Avian was expressionless, even a bit cold. He looked at his hand and directly activated a card in his hand: "I activate the Spell card, Dark Fusion!"

What!?

Tiancheng Guang widened his eyes.

What Fusion?!

"This is a Fusion card exclusive to Fiend-type monsters. I fuse Burstinatrix in my hand with myself."

"Dark wings, turn into blades, tear everything in front of me to pieces!"

"Fusion Summon, Evil HERO Infernal Wing!"

Under the dumbfounded gaze of the two, a slender female demon with white wings slowly descended in front of them.

Evil HERO Infernal Wing, Level 6, Fire, Fiend, 2100 ATK.

"Evil... Evil HERO? From Elemental, turned into Evil? This... and it's basically a Fiend-type monster! This..." Jaden was still a bit dazed. He was a bit confused about the current situation, just muttering, "And the ATK is exactly the same as Flame Wingman, but turning from Flame Wingman into a beautiful female demon, it seems quite cool..."

"Battle, Infernal Wing attacks Clayman—"

"Wait!" Jaden saw the opponent attacking and reacted immediately, hurriedly preparing to open the set card.

"Wait, Jaden—" Tiancheng Guang hurriedly went to stop him, but it was too late.

"Trap card, Sakuretsu Armor!" Jaden rubbed his nose with his finger and said carefully, "Tiancheng, don't worry! The effect of Sakuretsu Armor is that it can be activated when an opponent's monster declares an attack. Destroy that attacking monster!"

Seeing this Trap card, Tiancheng Guang slapped his forehead and covered his eyes. Avian shook his head helplessly, Gaia couldn't help but laugh out loud, and not far away, Black Luster Soldier directly said: "Warrior from another world, monsters summoned by Dark Fusion cannot be destroyed by effects during that turn." (Note 1)

"What!!"

Boom—

Clayman was directly destroyed.

Jaden & Tiancheng LP: 8000 → 7900

"Also has piercing effect?"

"Not only that," Avian proudly puffed out his chest and explained, "It can be activated when Infernal Wing destroys a monster in battle. Inflict damage to the opponent equal to the higher of that monster's ATK or DEF!"

"Ah? Isn't this an enhanced version of Flame Wingman—" Jaden was just saying, and the female demon came to the two of them, revealed a charming smile, and then released pitch-black flames.

"Wow, hot hot hot—" Jaden was quite loyal. Knowing that this wave was his own fault, he directly blocked in front of Tiancheng and ate the fire for two people.

This is a real duel with spirits. Every battle damage is real!

Jaden & Tiancheng LP: 7900 → 5900.

"End turn." Avian put his hands behind his back and pretended to be an expert.

"Sorry, Tiancheng, implicated you!" Jaden still had a bright smile on his face, while saying sorry, "You have to face a powerful monster!"

Tiancheng Guang rolled his eyes.

You kid don't know that "Sakuretsu Armor" is such a big debuff!

Not many people who use this thing in the original work have a good ending!

I didn't expect to encounter such a bad opening in the first tag duel in this world!

He glanced at his hand.

Forget it, it's metaphysics. Watch me use technology to push it back!

Note: In the original work, monsters fused by Dark Fusion will not be destroyed. After being printed as a real card, they cannot be targeted by the opponent's effects—but in fact, whether it is the former or the latter, Sakuretsu Armor is useless, because Sakuretsu Armor is a targeting effect! So the scene in the original work can be reproduced.

The plot here uses the original effect, so I specifically explain it.
