Chapter 155: The Pride of Green Leaves
"My turn."
Tenjou Fubuki inserted a magic card from his hand into the Duel Disk: "Activate the Normal Magic Card, Crimson Gem Card. According to its effect, I can discard one 7-star 【Crimson-Eye】 monster to the graveyard. Then, I draw two cards."
"I discard my Crimson-Eye Black Dragon and draw two cards."
Tenjou Fubuki, once possessed by Darkness, could be said to be the person in this world who owns the most "Black Dragons."
"After this effect ends, I can also send one more 7-star Crimson-Eye monster from my deck to the graveyard. I send my last Crimson-Eye Black Dragon to the graveyard."
"Activate the Magic Card, Greed Pot."
"Return five monsters from the graveyard to the deck, then draw two cards."
"I return two Crimson-Eye Black Dragons, Black Dragon's Chick, Meteor Dragon, and Gem-Knight Prism to the deck, and draw two cards."
"Drawing so many cards—what's the point?" Nine-Snake Kong Que assumed a defensive stance.
"Probably to draw something more important—that's why he did it," Hundred Dragon offered his own theory.
Nine-Snake Kong Que glanced at a face-down card and nodded silently.
If this guy dares use 【Black Flame Bullet】 again, I'll make him regret it!
"Then—flip the face-down card!"
"Crimson-Eye Fusion!"
He revealed the magic card left to him by Tenjo Hikari.
"It's Fusion!"
"It's really a Fusion!"
"Whoa!"
A group of spirits chirped excitedly.
"Crimson-Eye Fusion?" Hundred Dragon stared at the card. "Sounds like a Fusion Magic exclusive to Black Dragons. Do you have any Fusion Monsters in your deck that use Black Dragons as material?"
Nine-Snake Kong Que glanced at Tenjo Hikari's Extra Deck: "The Extra Deck isn't shared. In Tag Duels, after the Fusion Human used Fusion Reversal to revive a monster, that Fusion Monster card returned to the deck, right?"
"Hahaha~~" Tenjou Fubuki laughed as usual, lightly brushing his hair. "Don't judge me by appearances—I'm very concerned about my juniors!"
"Before I came here, I specially prepared my deck," he said, still smiling. "Crimson-Eye Fusion is a Fusion Magic card exclusive to Crimson-Eye monsters!"
"During the turn you activate this card, you cannot summon or special summon using any effect other than this one!"
"That's a severe restriction."
"Such a huge restriction?!"
"And now—the effect of Crimson-Eye Fusion!"
"From your hand, field, or deck, use monsters as Fusion Materials to Fusion Summon one monster whose Fusion Material includes a 【Crimson-Eye】 monster!"
"Send Demon's Call and Crimson-Eye Black Dragon from the deck to the graveyard—Fusion Summon!"
"Darkness Dragon!"
On the field appeared a massive black dragon composed entirely of bone and blood.
Darkness Dragon, Level 9, Dark Attribute, Dragon Type, ATK 3200.
"Senior, you have Demon's Call?"
Tenjou Fubuki tapped his forehead lightly and grinned. "I got it with Ryo during our last expedition. I never thought I'd actually use it..."
He turned back and continued explaining the card's effect: "Any monster Fusion Summoned by Crimson-Eye Fusion is treated as a 【Crimson-Eye Black Dragon】."
"Crimson-Eye Black Dragon?!" Nine-Snake Kong Que narrowed his eyes, glaring fiercely at Fubuki.
"So he can use 【Black Flame Bullet】 too!" Hundred Dragon nodded slightly. "If you had 【Black Flame Bullet】 right now, we'd lose. How about it? Activate it?"
They had only 2400 Life Points left.
If they activate Black Flame Bullet now and it hits—they lose!
It was luring Fubuki into activating this card.
"Nonono~" Fubuki waved his finger gently. "How could a senior like me let a cute junior who wants to show off win like this?!"
"Activate the Magic Card—"
He smiled: "Offering to the Dead! Target one face-up monster on the field. Destroy that monster! Skip your next Draw Phase!"
"Skip your next Draw Phase!"
"What?!"
"What are you doing? Your next Draw Phase belongs to that human!"
In Tag Duels, "your next Draw Phase" refers to your teammate's turn. To Fubuki's opponents, using this card was clearly helping the enemy!
Fubuki offered no explanation—only activated the magic and shouted: "Destroy—Darkness Bird!"
Boom—
The dark bird monster vanished from the field.
"Next—Battle! Use Darkness Dragon to attack Giant Dragon Shine!"
The dark dragon, combining demonic and draconic power, swung its massive claws against the radiant dragon. Yet Giant Dragon did not absorb light energy—it gradually lost ground and was ultimately destroyed.
Guardians of 【Mountain】, LP: 2400 → 2000.
"Now, your field has only one 【Crimson-Eye Black Dragon】 left!"
"I'll set one card face-down, end my turn!"
Tenjo Hikari glanced at the face-down card, his pupils contracting sharply.
Is that... really it??
He looked up at Fubuki, who flashed a bright smile and gave him a thumbs-up.
"Desperate flailing! You human—don't you have any self-awareness?! You're wasting your teammate's Draw Phase?!"
"Self-awareness?" Tenjou Fubuki touched the last card in his hand. The surrounding spirits could see—it was 【Black Flame Bullet】!
The spirits exchanged glances, utterly baffled by Fubuki's intentions.
He gently wiped the card and said, "Come on, don't be so angry."
Then he looked up at Nine-Snake Kong Que: "Nine-Snake Kong Que, don't think only you and your kind are like this."
"Huh?"
"I was once consumed by dark power, brainwashed, turned into a Dark Duelist, forced to attack students and steal keys."
!!?
Both opponents paused their accusations.
"I'm not saying this to complain about how terrible I was—those don't matter. What matters is that the one who defeated me and freed me from brainwashing was this duelist beside me—Tenjo Hikari!" He extended his hand, palm facing Tenjo Hikari.
"Huh?"
"Whoa, then—"
The surrounding spirits were stunned.
"That power left an indelible mark on me. Even now, no matter what deck I use, my duels always turn into this Black Dragon's Bloodied Deck."
Though this deck was far stronger than his original one, if he could, he'd still prefer his cheerful, flashy "Stage Show Deck."
"Until today!" He fixed his gaze on the Darkness Dragon. "Until today!"
Could this really be true?
Tenjo Hikari stared at Tenjou Fubuki's deck.
No wonder Fubuki hadn't dueled much since then—he'd been so lively with Wan Wan Zhangmu and others in the original story.
"Don't think only you know how to protect the young!" His playful demeanor vanished—he grew utterly serious. "If my junior wants to prove his heart, if he seeks spirits who recognize him, then as his senior, I will support him to the end!"
"I've never studied Fusion in depth, nor cared much for club activities—but if I can help him, I'll help these adorable juniors! That's who I am!"
"Your turn, Nine-Snake Kong Que—show us your resolve!"
Nine-Snake Kong Que, still dazed from Fubuki's words, snapped to attention at the sound of his name.
Many spirits around them began chattering excitedly.
He might be a blood-sacrificing type, but maybe he's not to blame? And somehow, even though he was just saying pretty words, he was kinda cool.
"Hmm, this human isn't half bad," even Tierra gave a slight nod of approval.
After a pause, Nine-Snake Kong Que stared at Fubuki and finally understood why he'd disliked this human from the start.
Same-sex rivalry!
"Warriors from another world... I underestimated you."
"But we won't lose so easily!"
"Draw! Speed Spell Card—Assault Command!"
"This is a Magic Card completely different from your wasted Draw Phase—it can tribute one Normal Monster on the field to destroy one monster on your opponent's field!"
"I tribute my Crimson-Eye Black Dragon, then destroy your Darkness Dragon!"
Two different black dragons ignited distinct flames. The primal Black Dragon roared and charged forward.
The field was now clear again.
"But it's not over! Darkness Bird never dies! Just like us, the Guardians, we never fall!"
"Revive from the graveyard: Black Dragon Collapse Star Snake, and myself—Nine-Snake Kong Que excluded!"
"Darkness Bird Smov!"
Even after three deaths, the Bird shall return!
"Attack! Use Darkness Bird Smov for a direct attack!"
Tenjou Fubuki blocked the feathers with his hand.
Student Team, LP: 5300 → 2600.
"End Phase." It looked at Tiancheng Guang. "How about it, Fusionist Tierra? Without the ability to draw cards, can you even survive this turn using only your previous Spell Cards?"
"Survive?" Hearing its words, Tiancheng Guang shook his head. "No... the winner will be decided this turn!"
"The final turn!"
Chapter Three, still struggling to write—today should be finished.
