Chapter 42
That's right!
This man is Gao He from Hongshan Investment.
Strictly speaking, Qin Xiaoyu felt he didn’t have much personal connection with him, but he rummaged through his memories.
Given the original owner’s background, there simply weren’t any other familiar people worth calling a person.
Qin Xiaoyu knew securing a loan from Gao He would be difficult, but he still had to try.
If it worked, great; if not, he wouldn’t be disappointed.
At the very least, he could take that wager agreement to Gao He for advice—listening to his opinion couldn’t hurt.
Thinking of this,
Qin Xiaoyu organized his documents, stood up, bid farewell to Cai Qiu and Chen Wei, then drove straight to Hongshan Capital’s headquarters.
In mid-April, Yuncheng’s weather was pleasant: sunshine bathed the streets, the breeze was gentle, and the willow branches along the road had long since turned from tender green to deep emerald.
Qin Xiaoyu drove, paying no attention to the scenery outside.
After roughly forty minutes,
he pulled up before a seventy-story skyscraper in the heart of Yuncheng—Hongshan Investment’s headquarters.
Standing at the entrance, Qin Xiaoyu couldn’t help but look up, thinking that one day he might own a building like this himself.
Sitting atop the tower, gazing down at the view below, would surely be a refreshing experience.
“Mr. Qin, General Gao is still in a meeting. He asked me to come and escort you to the reception room to wait for him.”
A soft, melodious voice interrupted his thoughts.
He snapped back to attention and saw Qin Ya, her face lit with a faint smile, walking toward him as she spoke.
“Thank you, Miss Qin!”
Qin Xiaoyu politely thanked her; for someone who had made a last-minute appointment, it was already a great honor that Gao He had made time to see him—and even sent his secretary to meet him.
After all, people hoping to meet Gao He likely had appointments booked well into next year.
“This way, please!”
With those words, Qin Ya gestured lightly with her right hand and led Qin Xiaoyu to the elevator, heading straight for the top floor.
Once in the reception room on the top floor, Qin Ya poured Qin Xiaoyu a glass of water, exchanged a few polite words, then excused herself to attend to her duties.
After Qin Ya left, Qin Xiaoyu finally exhaled—he found women like her dangerously alluring to men.
After waiting about ten minutes in the reception room, footsteps approached the door, and Gao He walked in.
“Brother Qin, what brings you by? Did you decide my offer the other day wasn’t half-bad?”
Gao He’s gaze flickered over the file folder on Qin Xiaoyu’s table, then settled on his face, amused as he teased.
“General Gao, you’re joking!”
Both of them were busy—Qin Xiaoyu was, and so was Gao He.
So Qin Xiaoyu had no intention of small talk. Once Gao He sat across from him, he pulled a document from the folder and placed it on the table before him.
Then he continued: “General Gao, you’re the pillar of China’s investment world. I’d be honored if you’d review this agreement for me.”
“Just empty titles!”
