Chapter 193

"Ding~ Your pet, the Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly, has killed a Black-Iron High-Grade Gray-Toothed Rat! Experience +30!"

"Ding~ Congratulations, Master! Your Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly has leveled up to Black-Iron Mid-Grade!"

The Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly's upgrade went surprisingly smoothly, achieving Black-Iron Mid-Grade in just over an hour.

After resting for a while, the Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly began hunting nearby Black-Iron-tier ferocious beasts.

Not long after, eight or nine Jin Gang Ants appeared in Su Yang's line of sight.

The Jin Gang Ants lined up before the Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly, which, as usual, plunged its proboscis into their brains and sucked hard.

At that moment, the Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly shook its head, flinging the connected Jin Gang Ant away, then spat out several streams of greenish viscous fluid.

Su Yang immediately felt the Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly's previously content mood turn utterly foul!

"So disgusting!"

Su Yang, hearing the Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly's feelings, couldn't help but laugh.

It seemed the Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly disliked the taste of Jin Gang Ants.

The remaining Jin Gang Ants were all killed by the Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly, but it never touched their brains again.

At day's end, the Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly leveled up to Black-Iron High-Grade, nearing Black-Iron Top-Grade.

This kill-based leveling speed left Su Yang extremely satisfied.

He had considered having the Storm Eagle bring prey to help the Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly level up.

But it was only a passing thought.

Due to the system, his pet's power growth was already extremely rapid.

Relying on other pets to boost the Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly's level would be like pulling up seedlings to help them grow.

Pets needed constant battle, accumulating combat experience, and learning to improve their fighting abilities.

Seeing the time was right, Su Yang rode the Storm Eagle back to the gathering point—the Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly had fought all day and used its mental control skills repeatedly, leaving it exhausted.

Back at the guesthouse, Qian Ran followed Su Yang into the room.

Su Yang pulled out two Illusory Butterfly eggs and handed them to Qian Ran.

The two eggs: one was a common Illusory Butterfly, the other a true Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly.

The Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly egg had the same platinum-tier potential, its quality quite excellent—just slightly weaker than the one Su Yang held.

"You haven't signed a third pet yet?"

"No!" Qian Ran shook her head. "I've been hesitant. I've seen pictures of the Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly in books—I've always wanted it most."

Su Yang's impression of Qian Ran shifted slightly.

With just two pets, she'd made it into the top three of Ancheng—her strength must be considerable!

"Just because it's pretty?"

Qian Ran corrected him: "It's both beautiful and powerful!"

"Alright!" Su Yang pointed at the two eggs. "If you're willing, sign the contract. But if it's not the Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly, don't blame me."

"Don't worry—I'm willing to gamble on luck!" Qian Ran grinned. "If it's not the Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly, I'll just break the contract and wait ten days. Besides, I never planned to use a third pet in the Biwu Assembly anyway!"

If a pet defects or dies, the Beast Tamer must rest one to two months before signing a new one to fill the summon slot.

If the Beast Tamer and pet part ways peacefully, they only need to wait ten days.

"Then give it a try."

"Alright!"

Qian Ran extended her hand and pointed at the slightly larger cocoon: "I'll sign with this one first!"

Su Yang glanced at the cocoon… all one could say was that Qian Ran had good luck.

She'd picked the true Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly cocoon on the first try.

She sliced her finger, smeared blood onto the cocoon, and the array activated—Qian Ran signed the contract with the Seven-Colored Illusory Butterfly.

When the cocoon cracked open, a rainbow glow spilled forth.

When Qian Ran saw the colorful patterns on the butterfly's wings…

"Ah~"

She gasped, mouth wide open, eyes bulging!
