Chapter 218: Reconnaissance! Platinum-Level Great Cloud Eagle Large Force!

Su Yang spent fifteen full days in the Yandang Mountains, gradually upgrading the Rainbow Illusion Butterfly to Silver Mid-Grade.

The Storm Eagle and the Earth Rampager also gained experience from battle, but their upgrade speed had clearly slowed.

Finding a good opportunity, Su Yang also upgraded the Hellvine Flower to Gold Low-Grade.

After finishing that day's battle, Su Yang returned to camp, took a shower, ate dinner in the mess hall, and was just about to go back and rest when he heard the assembly bell over the loudspeaker.

Su Yang set down his tray and ran out of the mess hall with the other members of the Seventh Squad to the square.

Zhu Xiaoshuang and Shi You, the squad leader and deputy leader, were already standing on the square's raised platform.

Su Yang lined up according to formation; none of the Seventh Squad members spoke, and he didn't dare ask anything.

After roll call, only fifty-three of the seventy-nine Seventh Squad members were present.

Some were out on missions; some were home on leave.

Zhu Xiaoshuang shouted from the platform: "Our mission has arrived—our destination is Jiacheng!"

"Today, the mayor of Jiacheng reported signs of beast unrest in the nearby Jinya Mountain—he's requesting support from our Changwu Field!"

"Jiacheng hasn't seen beast unrest in five years; General Qin takes this matter seriously and has ordered Commander Yao to dispatch two emergency squads to Jiacheng to stand by for support!"

"The Seventh Squad and the Tenth Squad have been selected to deploy to Jiacheng to prevent possible beast unrest!"

"You have thirty minutes to prepare—dismissed!"

As soon as Squad Leader Zhu Xiaoshuang dismissed them, Su Yang returned to his room, sat down for a moment, and didn't pack anything.

All his personal belongings were stored in his Spatial Sack—even water and rations were plentiful inside.

Half an hour later, all members of the Seventh Squad mounted their flying companion beasts and took to the air.

At that moment, Su Yang also saw the members of the Tenth Squad.

In the darkness, they too hovered motionless in midair.

"Su Yang!"

A voice came from the front of the formation.

Su Yang immediately ordered the Storm Eagle to fly to the front of the formation.

"Squad Leader!"

"You're in charge of reconnaissance—have your Storm Eagle fly high into the sky, watch for movement all around, and have it report any activity to you immediately!" Zhu Xiaoshuang ordered. "Get on my Black Tiger Eagle."

"Yes!"

Su Yang leapt from the Storm Eagle's back onto the Black Tiger Eagle.

The Black Tiger Eagle glanced at Su Yang with its tiger-like head, then ignored him.

"Storm Eagle, ascend to high altitude and report any activity around me at once!"

The Storm Eagle nodded and shot straight into the sky.

Many Seventh Squad members watched the Storm Eagle until it vanished into the dark sky…

Someone sighed: "It's flying so high—it looks like it's inside the clouds!"

"I heard that Storm Eagle's vision reconnaissance is top-class!"

"So does that mean we can sleep soundly now?"

"If you're not afraid of dying, go ahead and try sleeping!"

"Just kidding, just kidding!"

"…"

Zhu Xiaoshuang's Black Tiger Eagle was a Platinum-level companion beast, with a wingspan over thirty meters and an extremely broad back; Su Yang sat down in a spot not far from Squad Leader Zhu.

"Time's up—we depart!"

The Seventh Squad led the way, flying south.

The Tenth Squad followed closely behind.

Zhu Xiaoshuang's Black Tiger Eagle flew at the very front of the formation; she occasionally unfolded a map, carefully checking direction, guiding the team along a winding route—Su Yang glanced curiously at it.

Zhu Xiaoshuang smiled and explained: "On our way to Jiacheng, we'll pass through the territories of many powerful beasts. This map marks the safest, already-reconnoitered route—we avoid being attacked by powerful beasts."

"Oh!"
