Chapter 1987

~6 min read 1,003 words

Of course it's not exactly the same, but most of it is about the same.

But Zhao Chi really was seeing the latter half for the first time.

There's even an elf-exclusive modification option?

Then there's no need to think about it — it absolutely only takes effect in an elf's hands after modification.

Just like how stockings and other fashion items only take effect on women.

That's rather novel.

And looking carefully at these elf-exclusive options, the increase is quite substantial.

Normally, branch attributes all cost 10 modification points to raise by about 5%.

For example, the "Attack," "Attack Speed," "Accuracy" types above are all like that.

But in the spiritual power exclusive options, "Movement Speed" costs 10 modification points and can actually increase by 10%!

That's double the boost of the options above.

Worthy of being called an Elven Bow, indeed.

It really does give elves special treatment.

Then is there a human bow? Or human-exclusive equipment?

There must be.

I'll look for it later.

Now, getting back on track — hurry up and modify.

There are 35 modification points in total.

Looks like it's the combined result of dark iron and spider-silk.

Two modification manuals can provide 20 modification points — that's the default.

Dark iron can provide 10 modification points, spider-silk can provide 30 modification points; combined, it should be 20 modification points.

But the main material of this Elven Bow is still dark iron, with spider-silk as the secondary material, so in the end it only added 15 modification points from materials.

That's fine too.

Next are the options...

Weapons really do have a lot of modification options — if only fashion had this many too.

But it looks like a headache.

After all, every single one is a useful attribute.

Range — absolutely must be modified.

Attack... also must.

Attack speed, accuracy — both are great.

Penetration... that one can actually be skipped.

Bows do have penetration power, but it's average.

If it were a crossbow, it would be worth modifying.

A bow, forget it.

Finally, one option I can confirm I won't modify...

Keep looking.

Durability, feel, weight — these three are great, all can be skipped!

Directly transfer their data away!

Actually, these three options are really quite good — useful for ordinary people, and they don't cost many points either.

After a battle, you'll definitely fire a lot of arrows.

Drawing a bow and shooting arrows is like using a blade to strike enemies — it also wears down durability.

If durability is high, it can withstand many battles, even major ones without worry.

The feel option is also great.

Although there's a somewhat mystical element to it, a weapon with good feel — you can tell the difference just by holding it, and you can perform better.

But it's destined not to be modified — a pity.

Finally, weight.

When fully modified, it can reduce the bow's weight quite a bit — especially for those mobile archers, this option is very practical.

But this Elven Bow is already very light.

It's easy to hold even without modification; of course, if deeply modified it would be even lighter, but there's no need.

All good options, but Zhao Chi doesn't need them.

So...

Among the first half of modification options, only items 1-4 can be temporarily kept; the rest are eliminated.

Next, let's look at the elf-exclusive options.

The first is Movement Speed 10%...

Zhao Chi is really a bit envious.

After all kinds of bonuses, stockings can ultimately only increase movement speed by 80%.

Yet this Elven Bow, fully modified, can directly increase movement speed by 100%...

But it's understandable.

Stockings are actually just very ordinary fashion items.

It's only in Zhao Chi's hands that they display such extraordinary ability.

Moreover, the stockings' bonuses aren't limited to movement speed — they also grant super jumps and defense for the entire leg and foot.

And the stockings… are a fashion item.

They remain in effect as long as they're worn.

The movement speed boost from this elven bow also has conditions — it only takes effect while held by an elf.

And it only takes effect while using the bow.

If any other weapon is equipped, the bow's bonus won't activate even if it's still on the character.

So although the bonus is strong, it does have its limits.

Even so, elven archers using this bow are indeed very powerful — they can kite enemies with ease.

Run and shoot at the same time, moving so fast the enemy simply can't catch them.

It also fits the elven archer's role perfectly.

So this option should be added.

The second option is reduced draw weight.

Each improvement reduces the bow's draw weight by 10%.

It's not that the bow's power drops — it's that the burden on the user is lessened.

If this option is maxed out… it will reduce the draw weight by 100%.

Of course, that doesn't mean there's zero draw weight.

It means the elves only need half their original strength to fully draw the bow.

That's really not bad.

The finger tab improved for Su Qin reduces finger fatigue and pain.

This bow's option reduces the bow's draw weight.

The two complement each other perfectly.

Su Qin's strongest attack right now is Shock Arrow stacked with Piercing Cloud Arrow — extremely powerful.

She can use it at most twice.

The main limitation isn't Su Qin herself — it's the elves.

The elven race's base Constitution and Strength are only 4 points, the same as an ordinary human woman — slightly weaker.

After using such skills twice, they can't draw the bow at all for a period of time.

And although Su Qin is also quite delicate, she now has 6 points in Constitution and 6 in Strength — two tiers higher than the elves.

She herself can use it many more times.

So if this option is maxed out, the elves should be able to use it four times, right?

Great option.
