Chapter 657: Divine Blood Emissary? Kill!

Whoosh—

Above the entire Peter Square, resplendent golden light bloomed.

The people on the square who were ill recovered rapidly, while those who were not felt their bodies become as comfortable as if they had just enjoyed a thorough massage.

Even Xu Jingming felt his qi and blood had increased by roughly five or six points.

Although it was not yet ten o'clock, for him, a sixth-tier upper-rank ability user.

These five or six points of qi and blood would normally require four or five days of training to gain.

"Is this a miracle?" Xu Jingming wondered inwardly.

Catherine's holy light could not only be used against enemies, it also possessed a certain healing effect.

But compared to holy light's killing power, this healing effect could be said to be negligible.

It was utterly incapable of achieving such an astonishing group-healing and buffing effect as it was showing now.

Even a dedicated seventh-tier grandmaster of healing might not be able to do it.

More critically, apart from Catherine's own aura, Xu Jingming could sense no other abnormality whatsoever.

"Eva, can you analyze where Catherine's healing effect is coming from?" Xu Jingming asked inwardly.

"This healing effect seems to appear out of thin air; I cannot capture its source either," Eva replied.

Hearing this, Xu Jingming's brow immediately furrowed.

If even the intelligent life-form Eva could not analyze any abnormality.

Could it really be some kind of miracle?

"Ah! Help!!"

Just as Xu Jingming was puzzling over it, a sudden scream rang out from the crowd!

That scream sounded so jarring amid the chorus of cheers and celebration.

That scream seemed to act as some kind of signal, and bursts of ferocious aura suddenly erupted from within the crowd at Peter Square!

Boom! Boom! Boom!......

In but an instant, the people around those ferocious auras were crushed directly into fresh red blood mist!

As if looking down from the sky, one could see.

Clumps of blood mist, like vivid red roses, blooming amid the resplendent golden light!

"Having received the Mandate of Heaven, the Heavenly God endures forever! You are all offerings to the Heavenly God!"

A bloodthirsty and frenzied voice rang out across the square, and the people, who had been somewhat at a loss moments ago, immediately panicked.

"It's the Tianming Sect!"

"Run! Run! This is their blood sacrifice!"

"Everyone, don't panic. With the Goddess here, we don't need to run at all!"

"......"

Huge crowds of people fled toward the outside of Peter Square.

Although a few still-lucid believers tried to stop them, under the threat of death, those attempts at restraint were utterly useless.

Many people even died in the stampede.

And the Tianming Sect members lurking within the crowd also began their slaughter.

The once peaceful Peter Square instantly became a purgatory!

"Tianming Sect?" Xu Jingming was somewhat surprised.

The central district was the most critical part of all of Moben.

For the Tianming Sect to choose this place to cause trouble—wasn't that a little too audacious?

"Tianming Sect?!"

Catherine in midair was likewise a mix of shock and fury.

But she reacted swiftly, ordering:

"Church guard squads, immediately clear out the civilians and exterminate the Tianming Sect members!"

"Yes!"

Firm voices rang out, and squads of ability users from the Holy Church immediately charged into the crowd.

However, just at that moment, four terrifying auras suddenly erupted from four different directions.

The sheer pressure made everyone across the entire square feel a sudden jolt in their hearts, even slowing their movements!

"Four eighth-tier grandmasters?!"

Catherine's pupils contracted, and she hurriedly shouted: "Lord Allen! Please, all the priests, step in!"

"Very well."

The eighth-tier peak grandmaster who had been following by Catherine's side stirred.

Immediately, three eighth-tier grandmasters joined the battlefield.

The entire Peter Square instantly descended into chaos, screams rising on all sides, and massive numbers of people were cut down by the Tianming Sect's ability users!

"Roar—"

Some of the Tianming Sect's ability users even let out eerie roars from their mouths, and in an instant their entire bodies sprouted limbs like those of fierce beasts.

But unlike ability users who had employed enhancement-type beast systems and were filled with wildness.

These newly grown limbs seemed like genetic mutations.

Some sprouted tails from their abdomens, some even grew a beast's claw from their necks!

Looking both bizarre and blood-soaked.

Yet at the same time, these people's auras, as if by unspoken agreement, surged explosively!

"Divine Blood Emissaries!"

Xu Jingming's eyes lit up in the inner arena.

He still remembered how, back when he was still at the Magic Academy, those Divine Blood Emissaries had brought him an enormous haul of ability points.

He hadn't expected to encounter them again so soon!

"S-rank! The Tianming Sect has very likely already marked you as a kill target. We need to run, now!"

Eva's anxious voice rang out in his heart.

"Run?"

Xu Jingming grinned, and a ferocious aura erupted outward from him as its center:

"They're nothing but a bunch of trash. I don't need to flee for my life! Thunder Extreme Form!"

Boom!!!

Wild and resplendent golden thunder exploded outward from him as its center!

Brilliant golden thunder coiled around Xu Jingming's eyes, and behind him a Radiant Thunder Ring materialized out of thin air.

As it spun madly, it made his figure look even taller and more imposing.

"Lightning Chain!!"

With a point of his right hand, a bolt of thunder as thick as a bowl's mouth suddenly blasted toward the Divine Blood Emissaries in the crowd.

Crack—

The first Divine Blood Emissary to touch the thunder only had time to let out a scream before being instantly electrocuted into a charred black corpse.

However, it wasn't over yet!

The Lightning Chain continued to refract toward the next Divine Blood Emissary.

In the span of a single breath, it killed a full six Divine Blood Emissaries, as well as several dozen ordinary Tianming Sect ability-users!
