Chapter 658: The Furious Catherine!

Eva, who had been following Xu Jingming all along, naturally knew Xu Jingming's strength very well.

Among the Tianming Sect members present, aside from those four eighth-rank Grandmasters, not a single one was a match for Xu Jingming.

But who knew whether the Tianming Sect had more powerful fighters lying in ambush in the shadows.

After all, Xu Jingming was currently Blue Star's number one prodigy, and could almost be said to be the anti-human Tianming Sect's primary target.

Therefore, the suggestion she gave was to flee immediately; in any case, everyone in the square were foreigners, and if they died, they died.

But she did not know that the Tianming Sect's Divine Blood Envoys were precisely the best aid for Xu Jingming's strength to grow!

'Ding~~, killed one fifth-rank mid-tier Divine Blood Envoy, Ability Points +3000.'

'Ding~~, killed one sixth-rank lower-tier Divine Blood Envoy, Ability Points +5000.'

'Ding~~, killed one fourth-rank lower-tier Divine Blood Envoy, Ability Points +1000.'

'......'

A string of system notification sounds rang out in Xu Jingming's mind.

He had only killed six Divine Blood Envoys, yet these six Divine Blood Envoys had given him nearly twenty thousand Ability Points!

"Within the same rank, killing a Divine Blood Envoy yields far more Ability Points than killing a fierce beast!"

Xu Jingming's face was full of excitement as he immediately said to Eva in his heart:

"Eva, lock onto the positions of all Divine Blood Envoys in St. Peter's Square!"

"Eva received, scanning......"

Although she did not know why Xu Jingming insisted on taking the risk to kill the Tianming Sect's Divine Blood Envoys, Eva still began scanning at full power.

"Scan complete. There are a total of 53 Divine Blood Envoys in the square, located in the northeast direction, southwest......"

In an instant, the positions of all Divine Blood Envoys in the square were locked onto by Eva.

"There are actually 53 of them! If I kill them all, I'll get at least over a hundred thousand Ability Points!"

Xu Jingming was secretly overjoyed in his heart, and immediately said to Xia Lan beside him:

"The square here is very dangerous. I have no way to look after you. You teleport away first."

Having said that, he did not wait for Xia Lan's reply.

Only a sizzle was heard, and golden Lei Guang flickered.

Xu Jingming's tall figure instantly vanished from the spot, appearing beside the nearest Divine Blood Envoy.

"Die!"

With a furious roar, the Molsa Obsidian Spear wreathed in violent Lei Ting thrust out like a bolt of lightning.

Puchi!!

This sixth-rank Divine Blood Envoy's head was blasted apart whole!

Blood mixed with white matter splattered violently onto the surroundings, drenching the surrounding crowd.

Yet they did not feel the slightest discomfort; on their faces instead was the wild joy of having survived a disaster.

Just as they wanted to express their thanks, they discovered Xu Jingming had already arrived beside another Divine Blood Envoy.

So they could only feel grateful in their hearts while hurriedly fleeing outside the square.

"Space Stealth!"

"Void Thrust!"

Xia Lan also did not rush to leave.

As a fifth-rank space-type Ability User, as long as she was careful, even a seventh-rank Grandmaster-level Ability User would not be able to catch her!

Only her slender figure could be seen flickering continuously through the crowd.

Every swing of her sharp dagger could take the life of one Tianming Sect member.

There were a full twenty thousand members of the public in the entire St. Peter's Square.

Although Xu Jingming, Xia Lan, and the Holy Church's guard squad were encircling and killing the Tianming Sect's people.

Yet these people mixed in among the crowd still caused extremely heavy casualties to ordinary people.

More critically, the Tianming Sect had dispatched a full four eighth-rank Grandmasters this time.

Yet the Holy Church only had three eighth-rank High Priests; three against four, in an absolute disadvantage.

And the eighth-rank peak Great High Priest who had always been responsible for protecting Catherine had never made a move.

"Lord Parker, I don't need protection here. Go help take care of those four Grandmasters first."

Watching the casualties among the crowd below grow ever more severe, the twelve-winged angel girl Catherine could not help but knit her delicate brows as she said.

However, what she did not expect was that Parker stood in place without moving, and shook his head:

"Lady Saintess, my duty is to protect your safety.

That group of Qunxie Sect cultists, leave them to the three High Priests and the guard squad.

Besides, I have already contacted the city government.

Their strong fighters can arrive in one minute. Please wait a moment, Lady Saintess."

On the surface, the Tianming Sect only had four eighth-rank Grandmasters.

But who knew whether there was secretly another Grandmaster lying in ambush, ready to strike at any moment?

For the sake of caution, he naturally did not dare to leave Catherine's side.

As for the rest of the public, the guard squad, and even the eighth-rank Grandmasters, if they died, they died.

The Holy Church would naturally avenge them afterward.

"I have a ninth-grade protective talisman left by my mother on me. You don't need to worry, just make your move."

Catherine had not expected Parker to be unwilling to act, so she reminded him.

One must know that

Parker is an eighth-rank peak Master Zongshi!

And those few from the Tianming Sect — the highest rank among them is only an eighth-rank mid-tier Master Zongshi.

Once Parker makes a move, the tide of battle will be reversed in an instant.

"Duty demands it. Please forgive me, my lord, the Holy Maiden."

Parker bowed respectfully, yet still did not make a move.

"Duty demands it?"

Catherine was briefly stunned; once she caught on, she immediately scolded in a sweet, shrill voice:

"Isn't the duty of our Holy Jiaotingde Sect precisely to save people and give them hope and a future?

Right now, the entire plaza holds more than twenty thousand faithful believers!

Are we really going to stand by and watch them be slaughtered at will by the heretics of the Tianming Sect?"

Her full bosom heaved violently, and a pair of emerald-green beautiful eyes brimmed with anger and displeasure.

"Compared to you, my lord, don't even mention twenty thousand believers.

Even two hundred thousand, or two million believers, would count for nothing."

Parker's deep, low voice rang out.

In truth, in his eyes—

Even those three eighth-rank High Priests were nothing more than cannon fodder that could be sacrificed at any moment.

"You—!"

Catherine's expression faltered.

She could never have imagined that Parker, as a High Priest of the Holy Jiaotingde Sect, could be so cold-hearted!

One must remember that the doctrine of the Holy Jiaotingde Sect has always been 'Benevolence, Freedom, Harmony, Redemption.'

The God of Light created the mortal world, spreading radiance across the land, and demanded that all believers help one another.

Yet Parker, as a High Priest, didn't have even the slightest thought of upholding the doctrine!

"Fine, fine, fine — you won't make a move, is that it? Then I'll go myself, alright?"

The twelve pure-white wings behind her fluttered slightly, and Catherine was about to fly down toward the plaza below.

However, Parker flashed in front of her in an instant, blocking her path:

"Holy Maiden, my lord, I apologize — you cannot make a move either, or I cannot guarantee your safety."

"You actually dare to block me?"

Catherine's pretty face was filled with disbelief.

Watching the believers below still being slaughtered, her expression went cold, and she threatened:

"If you don't step aside, once this is over, I will make sure you can never serve as High Priest again!"

"Duty demands it. Please understand, my lord, the Holy Maiden."

Parker still would not relent, showing no sign of fear.
