Chapter 284: SilverWestQing Has Arrived

~5 min read 857 words

Xia Wan's words, "I believe in myself," were like a soul-forging fire, causing her previously somewhat ethereal demeanor to settle, gaining a quiet, inner resolve. For Qin Feng's words, "I'll take you somewhere tomorrow," she felt a deep sense of anticipation and a faint, barely noticeable tension—perhaps the true beginning of her entry into that mysterious core circle.

Yet, in this seemingly calm afternoon, an external visitor—bearing a special significance—arrived at the outer reception zone of the New Era.

The visitor was a woman.

She wore a sharply tailored silver-gray trench coat, her posture upright, her steps steady and powerful. She appeared to be around twenty-seven or twenty-eight, her features beautiful yet not delicate; her brow carried the martial vigor and chill of a soldier. Most striking were her eyes—sharp as a hawk's, as if piercing through all pretense—yet deep within them lay a sorrow and weight that refused to dissolve.

On her credentials, the name field read: SilverWestQing.

The identity annotation stated: Senior Advisor, a Special Department of Dragon Country.

Lei Dong, the reception officer, upon seeing this name and the cold, unyielding face identical to the photo in her file, felt his pupils contract imperceptibly.

SilverWestQing.

That surname, and the resemblance in her silhouette and aura to the fallen Silver Wing, instantly revealed to Lei Dong her purpose.

"Advisor SilverWestQing, welcome to the New Era," Lei Dong stepped forward, extending his hand as protocol demanded, his tone neither subservient nor arrogant.

SilverWestQing shook his hand lightly; her fingertips were icy, yet her grip firm. "Commandant Lei, I've long heard of you." Her voice, like her gaze, carried a metallic quality—concise, direct.

Without pleasantries, SilverWestQing cut straight to the point: "I come here on my own behalf, and on behalf of certain colleagues, to request an audience with Mr. Qin. Primarily, I wish to… learn the full details of my brother, Silver Wing's, final moments on Kunlun Mountain."

Her tone was calm, but deep within those piercing eyes churned suppressed anguish and an unshakable determination.

Brother.

Of course.

Lei Dong understood. Silver Wing. SilverWestQing. No wonder their auras were so similar—they were siblings.

"Advisor SilverWestQing, please understand—Mr. Qin's schedule is extremely tight; he may not have time…" Lei Dong attempted the usual buffer.

"I understand," SilverWestQing interrupted him, her gaze locked on Lei Dong with the unyielding resolve of a soldier. "I can wait. However long it takes. Or, please convey my request to Mr. Qin. I must know—how exactly did my brother die? This is vital—to me, to my family, the Silver family."

Her stance was resolute, even unyielding, as if she would not retreat until her goal was achieved.

Lei Dong stared at the deep sorrow and unwavering persistence in her eyes. For a moment, he fell silent. Officially, he must uphold the New Era's rules. Personally, he understood a sister's need to trace her brother's final footsteps.

"I will convey your request to Mr. Qin," Lei Dong finally nodded. "But whether he will meet you—I cannot guarantee."

"That is enough. Thank you." SilverWestQing gave a slight bow, said no more, and stood quietly within the reception zone, her posture still as straight as a pine—as if she could wait there forever.

After arranging proper accommodations for SilverWestQing, Lei Dong immediately reported the situation via internal channels to Su Wenqian, who then forwarded it to Qin Feng.

In the Ding Ceng Ban Gong Shi.

Qin Feng was reviewing the latest deep-space environmental data transmitted by Pioneer One. Upon hearing Su Wenqian's report of SilverWestQing's arrival, his gaze did not leave the data screen.

"SilverWestQing…" he murmured the name again.

"Yes, sir. She is Silver Wing's sister, from a special department of Dragon Country. She insists on meeting you to learn the full details of Silver Wing's death," Su Wenqian added. "Commandant Lei says her attitude is extremely firm—she won't leave unless she sees you."

Qin Feng fell silent for a moment.

He had no intention of concealing Silver Wing's death, but he had no desire to explain the details to irrelevant parties. That clash on the level of cosmic rules was beyond ordinary comprehension.

Yet SilverWestQing's status was unusual. She was not only Silver Wing's sister, but clearly an elite within Dragon Country's core system. Perhaps… this could be an opportunity to further observe and assess the quality of Dragon Country's next-generation core personnel.

"Tell her," Qin Feng finally spoke, his tone flat, "tomorrow morning, I will give her ten minutes."

"Yes, sir," Su Wenqian replied, then asked, "Regarding Xia Wan's trip with you tomorrow…"

"As planned," Qin Feng replied succinctly.

"Understood."

Su Wenqian withdrew to arrange the notifications.

Qin Feng's gaze returned to the data screen, his eyes deep.

SilverWestQing's arrival was a minor diversion. Xia Wan's accompanying him was the planned progression.

And tomorrow, the place he would take Xia Wan to might grant her deeper insight into her own power—and into the hidden face of this world.

It would also make certain hidden observers more clearly recognize the true depth of the New Era's resources.

He lifted the Clear Tea beside him and took a sip.

Everything was proceeding as scheduled.
