Chapter 193: Learning Has No Limits
The two met in the living room; the maid lit the lamps and brewed the tea, then hurriedly withdrew.
"Manager Song, what brings you here so late at night?" Han San asked.
Song Ming said nothing, merely taking a letter from his bosom and placing it on the table. Han San was completely bewildered, but upon taking the letter and looking at it, he saw the handwriting was actually a personal letter to him from Zhang Yunxiu.
The letter read: "Regarding general matters in Qufu, cooperate with Song Ming in all things."
After reading it, Han San said sourly: "Mr. Song, you really have quite the methods. In the time it took me to take a nap, you've already climbed over my head. If another two years pass, won't I have to beg you for a favor or two?"
Detecting the sourness in Han San's tone, Song Ming cupped his hands, wore an apologetic smile, and replied: "Commander Han, please don't misunderstand. This is not my intention, but the Young Master's intention."
"Enough, enough. If you have something to say, just say it." Han San waved his hand impatiently.
"You are aware of the affair between Kong Lin and the young concubine of Kong Shangxian, right?" Song Ming nodded and asked, leaning to the side.
Han San nodded.
Song Ming smiled, then took out a dark blue account book and handed it to Han San: "This is the Kong Family—the amounts of land they have forcibly occupied over these years, as well as the evidence of their crimes."
"And then? Use this to file a complaint?" Han San snorted coldly and retorted.
These fellows only believe in what they think is right.
Even if he placed this evidence directly in front of them, they would still say this account book was forged by them.
"Heh, if we submit this account book, the people of the world won't believe it, but what if Kong Lin submits it?" Song Ming's eyes narrowed slightly, and a cold light suddenly flashed from them.
The night was very deep.
Inside Qufu city, except for a few brothels where the singing and music never ceased, most places had already doused their flags and silenced their drums, falling into complete stillness.
The biting cold wind swept across the jagged rooftops, making one feel even more desolate and solemn.
In a small bedroom located in the east of the city, the candlelight flickered red, and sounds of debauchery suddenly erupted.
A man and a woman were embracing each other, panting heavily in pleasure.
The man was about forty years old, with a fair face and a short beard.
He looked quite dignified and imposing.
The woman was about eighteen or nineteen, with a face like a flower, skin as white as snow, and a beautiful figure. Although her breasts were not large, they were extremely perky.
The two were none other than Kong Lin and Rong'er, the newly taken concubine of Kong Shangyan.
Speaking of this woman, it was actually Kong Lin who had scouted her for Kong Shangyan. A few months ago, while out on an excursion, he saw Rong'er and was instantly struck by her beauty.
That white, creamy neck, those perky breasts, those round and shapely buttocks.
It made Kong Lin's heart tingle with numbness just looking at them.
However, he did not enjoy her directly, but instead called Rong'er aside and asked: "Do you want a great fortune?"
He saw from Rong'er's attire that she was the type of village girl.
He was certain she could not escape his grasp.
Sure enough, Rong'er blinked her eyes and immediately agreed: "I am willing."
Kong Lin was overjoyed and happily presented this woman to Kong Shangyan. After the two had their tryst, Kong Shangyan was incredibly fond of this newly taken concubine.
He would cling to her whenever he had the chance.
It was just a pity that Kong Shangyan was already nearing sixty.
Often he had the desire but lacked the strength, and most importantly, he had long since lost his fertility. Kong Lin had set his sights on this point, seizing every opportunity to come and have a secret meeting with Rong'er.
Preparing to pass off his own seed as the other's.
In any case, they were all descendants of the Sage, so it didn't make much difference. Today, Kong Lin had suffered a setback during the day, and furthermore, Kong Shangyan was not at home. Kong Lin found an excuse to call Rong'er out, which led to the two of them engaging in this illicit affair.
The wind stopped and the rain ceased.
Rong'er pressed her pretty face against Kong Lin's chest, her jade-like fingers gently stroking his beard, and she whined coquettishly: "Master, what if our ugly affair is discovered by that person?"
"What is there to fear? Didn't he go to the capital?" Kong Lin lowered his head to look at the sweat-slicked beauty and teased, "What, would you rather serve that old man who has to hold onto the wall just to urinate, rather than serve me, your master?"
"How could that be?" A blush crept up Rong'er's fair cheeks, and she murmured coyly, "Ever since I first saw you, Master, I have been yours entirely."
"If it weren't for your instructions, Master, I wouldn't be willing to play along with that dead old man. Only you, Master, are a real man; that old man is simply not a man at all!"
These flattering words made Kong Lin burst into hearty laughter.
He exerted force with his palm and pinched the woman's wet, beautiful flesh. The woman furrowed her brows, and at the perfect moment, a whisper that could make one's soul fly away escaped her jade-like nose.
With just this, heat surged once again in Kong Lin's lower abdomen.
His large hand pulled, and he was just about to drag the beauty to join him in pleasure. Suddenly, the door was kicked open with a "bang," and the chilling autumn wind poured in without mercy.
Song Ming and Han San strode in behind it.
"Ah?!" Seeing the intruders, Rong'er screamed instinctively and then shrank her body into the silk quilt.
Kong Lin covered his face with one hand and pointed at the two with the other, shouting: "You... you have such great audacity, daring to trespass in a private residence! Get out, get out!"
Looking at the flustered Kong Lin, Han San and Song Ming smiled triumphantly, then teased: "Yo, Magistrate Kong, you're quite busy this late at night. What's this, taking advantage of Duke Yansheng's absence to entertain your aunt-in-law like this?"
"Who... who is Magistrate Kong?" Kong Lin pretended not to know.
"Still pretending? Open your eyes and see who we are!" Han San grinned.
Kong Lin pulled his hand away and glanced at Han San. The voice sounded familiar, but because the candlelight was flickering, he couldn't immediately recall who the person was.
After scrutinizing him for a few seconds, he suddenly shouted: "You... you are Han San?!"
"That's right, it seems Magistrate Kong's memory isn't bad after all." Han San smiled, then proceeded to the table, pulled out a stool, and sat down.
Song Ming followed closely behind and sat next to Han San.
"Magistrate Kong, care to explain?"
"Explain... explain what?" Kong Lin stiffened his neck to act tough and replied, "I have some academic questions I don't understand, so I am asking my little aunt-in-law. Is there a problem with that?"
"Oh, so that's how it is." Han San feigned a sudden realization, then made a gesture as if to shout outside.
"Hey!" Kong Lin panicked and hurriedly waved his hand to interrupt Han San.
"What, my brothers outside also want to ask your little aunt-in-law for some pointers, is that not allowed?" Han San bared his teeth, leaned back, and laughed brazenly.
"Fine, you win!" Kong Lin gritted his teeth and said to himself, then lowered his head and said, "I admit defeat. Speak, what is it?"
"It's about the Kong Family."
"You want me to help you take down the Kong Family? That's impossible!"
"Do you even have that ability?"
Han San looked at him with a face full of disdain and retorted.
"Then why are you looking for me?" Kong Lin felt slightly more at ease, sat up from the bed, and asked.
"Take this, and with your own hands, deliver it directly to the yamen of the Office of Transmission." As Han San spoke, he took out a written memorial and slapped it onto the table.
