Chapter 292

Xianyang City.

Today, Xianyang City was thoroughly shocked.

Today, Xianyang City had only one topic.

It was only because a fresh new thing called the Great Qin Daily had suddenly appeared.

And it didn't cost money; it was given away for free, almost to the point where everyone had a copy.

Whether it was on the main street or in the wine shops and teahouses.

If you didn't have a thing called a newspaper in your hand,

you would really be looked down upon by others. Everyone had one, so why didn't you?

Driven by such a strange trend, everyone was looking everywhere for this thing called a newspaper.

Regardless of whether they were literate or not, as long as others had one, they had to have one too!

If they didn't have one, even if they had to pay money to buy one, they would buy one to save face.

Moreover, this paper was particularly large, about the same size as the newspapers of later generations.

And those who were literate were all attracted by the content inside this 'Xianyang Daily'.

They saw that on the Xianyang Daily, many characters were neatly written in dense rows.

A fresh term called 'news' appeared in everyone's ears.

It made people feel incredibly curious, and they all wanted to figure out what this thing was.

In a teahouse.

At this time, many tea guests had gathered.

They were discussing the Great Qin Daily.

Among the daily publications, the Xianyang Daily was the best!

Those who were literate had already started reading the words on the newspaper out loud.

Tomorrow, Great Qin will open a new academy to teach people to read and write, and people from all over the world can sign up to participate.

If the family conditions are difficult, the tuition can be deducted from the auspicious crops grown by the family.

The Great Qin imperial court is responsible for teaching people to read and write; the future Great Qin will abolish the recommendation system and promote the imperial examination system!

In the future, Great Qin officials will obtain official positions through imperial examinations, no longer through recommendations by officials to become officials!

Everyone is equal, and everyone can become an official as long as they have the ability!

Only by studying and taking exams can one change one's own destiny.

Even ordinary commoners can become officials!

Boom~!

Once this news came out, the crowd in the teahouse suddenly exploded.

"My God, is this news true or false?"

"Even commoners can read and write and even become officials?"

"It must be fake, right? How can commoners become officials?!"

"It's hard to say; it might be true!"

"Doesn't it say so right here? As long as you study, you can participate in the imperial examination!"

"That is to say, after studying, you can participate in the imperial examination, and as long as you pass, you can become an official."

"Doesn't that mean that in the future, as long as you are diligent enough and study well enough, you will have a chance to become an official?"

"The news should be true; I heard that this Great Qin Daily was started by the Regent Ninth Prince."

"The news spread by the Ninth Prince can't be fake, right?"

The people in the crowd were excited; this news was undoubtedly a beacon in the darkness!

Among them, it wasn't that no one wanted to become an official; after all, being an official meant power and a generous monthly salary.

No one disliked being an official, but in the past, they had no chance to become officials.

But now it was different; now the recommendation system was abolished, the imperial examination system was promoted, and everyone could become an official!

This also made them incredibly envious.

As long as you take the exam, you have a chance to become an official; this was undoubtedly a shortcut to leaping over the dragon gate!

This was undoubtedly an opportunity that could completely change their destiny.

In Great Qin, commoners could only ever be commoners and had no chance to become officials.

Unless it was the military merit system where one could become an official, but civil officials couldn't; they couldn't even get enough to eat, so where would they get the money to have someone recommend them?

But now this opportunity had come.

As long as they sent their children to study, they would have a chance to become officials and change the family's situation.

"My God, how is this possible?!!"

The person who read the newspaper out loud exclaimed in shock.

It gave the people beside him a big fright.

They all asked him one after another what had happened.

"The dean of the Great Qin Academy is His Majesty the Qin Qin Shi Huang!"

"My God, as long as you go to school, you have a chance to meet the current Emperor!"

The crowd exploded again, and the atmosphere became even more heated.

Unexpectedly, even His Majesty the Qin Qin Shi Huang had come to be the dean of this academy.

It could be seen that the content on this newspaper was true beyond doubt!

"That... I still have something to do, I'm leaving first!"

The person who read the newspaper suddenly slipped away.

It left people stunned, not knowing what was wrong with this person.

But the next moment, more people reacted and left the teahouse one after another!

It was obvious that the person knew His Majesty the Qin Qin Shi Huang was the dean, and everyone knew this matter was true.

Everyone wanted to go home and prepare, whether it was to study themselves or to let their children study, they all had to make preparations.

Many people figured this out, and the entire teahouse was suddenly empty.

Even the owner of the teahouse was no exception; he didn't even do business anymore.

After learning this news, he ran home to find his wife and children to prepare.

This scene that happened in the small teahouse was being staged all over Xianyang City.
