Chapter 775

Great Ming Palace.

Morning court.

Early this morning, before the discussion of politics began, Fang Xuanling stood out.

"Your Majesty, we have stayed in the Great Tang for quite a while. Today, I bid farewell to Your Majesty to return to Jin Ling."

Qin Mu looked at this good minister of the Great Tang, whose temples were already turning white.

Who told him to assist such a Great Tang full of drawbacks, causing him to overwork his mind.

Qin Mu said considerately.

"Fang Xiang running back and forth is also too much of a toss-up. Why not stay in Changancheng for a long time? I will give you a mansion, how about that?"

This was another disguised attempt at poaching.

Li Er stood out and flatly refused.

"Your Majesty, the Great Tang also has very important matters waiting for us to handle. Besides, running back and forth like this allows us to see more of Great Qin's style, which is quite good."

Qin Mu smiled and said angrily.

"Old Li, if you like running, you can go back yourself!"

"This..."

Li Er didn't know how to respond.

Nominally, he was only the deputy envoy and couldn't make decisions for Fang Xuanling. The one who could truly decide Fang Xuanling's itinerary was himself.

At this moment.

A small eunuch hurried into the hall.

"Your Majesty, a victory report from Yelang!"

Victory report from Yelang, hearing these four words, Li Er closed his eyes.

Hope, after all, was shattered.

The first battle between the Harsha army and Great Qin was a loss. He just didn't know if it was a crushing defeat or a minor one?

Li Er and Fang Xuanling looked at each other and decided to listen to this victory report before leaving.

Qin Mu didn't ask about the content of the victory report first, but looked at Li Er.

"Old Li, what's wrong? You don't want to leave either?"

Li Er was very embarrassed.

He had to find something to say to brush it off.

"Hearing that Great Qin has a victory report from the front, we cannot be impolite, so we will wait until we have congratulated Your Majesty before leaving."

This could barely count as a reason.

Anyone with a discerning eye knew that they just wanted to stay here and hear a little more news.

Qin Mu didn't quibble with them and said to the small eunuch.

"Victory report from the Ministry of War, let General Yue Fei read it."

Yue Fei stepped out of the ranks, took the victory report, and unfolded it to read.

"On the second day of the sixth month, Courageous Commandant Xue Rengui led an army to detour behind enemy lines. They encountered a group of enemy elephant troops by chance. This group of enemy soldiers was small and collapsed at the first touch. They captured two thousand elephants and over ten thousand jin of various seeds." After hearing this news, everyone in the main hall was very surprised.

What was this situation?

They thought it was some kind of great victory?

But listening to the victory report, they didn't really fight much at all; it was equivalent to picking up so many spoils of war from the enemy for free.

And, not ordinary spoils of war.

Two thousand war elephants!

Just this quantity alone was shocking enough.

You know, the Harsha Empire only had ten thousand war elephants in total. They didn't know how many were put into the battlefield this time.

But to be able to capture two thousand war elephants at once without any effort, this surprise was truly unexpected.

It was as if the Harsha Empire had specially come to deliver a gift!

And over ten thousand jin of various seeds.

They didn't know what kind of seeds were transported? But to be able to transport them over such a long distance, they must not be ordinary seeds, and their value must be extremely high.
