Chapter 584: He Was Right
"Miao, why don't you go in and take a look yourself." Liang Zhuren didn't even intend to enter the Consultation Room, saying so with a huff.
"Liang Zhuren, what's the matter with you?" Miao was a bit confused, and seeing the camera there, fearing a mistake, he asked in a low voice beforehand.
"The production team brought in a... you should ask Fan Dao for the specifics."
Fan Dao rubbed his hands together, "Miao, where is Doctor Ji Xiang?"
"Writing a Medical Record, are you looking for him?" Miao asked.
"No, no, I'm looking for you to come for a consultation." After briefly introducing Lin Jiuze's identity, Fan Dao said, "He looks very gentle and doesn't talk much, but he seems extremely firm when it comes to medical matters."
"Firm my foot, it's just nonsense!" Liang Zhuren cursed, "The scan is right there, a typical Intestinal Obstruction, yet he insists on a slice CT. I know the American Physicians Alliance; they just love to order all kinds of tests."
"I'll go take a look." Curious, Miao strode into the Consultation Room.
Fan Dao left Liang Zhuren aside and walked to the door to examine Lin Jiuze once more.
He was gentle and calm, the sense of oppression from just a moment ago gone from his brow. Fan Dao didn't know if he had imagined it or if the earlier dispute had left a deep impression on him, but looking at Lin Jiuze now, he could feel a deep, ingrained pride in his bones.
Standing at the door watching, Fan Dao soon saw Miao and Lin Jiuze arguing.
"In cases of Superior Mesenteric Vein Thrombosis complicated by Intestinal Obstruction, there are usually two stages of manifestation.
Initially, the Patient is diagnosed with Superior Mesenteric Vein Thrombosis due to abdominal pain and begins anticoagulant therapy, subsequently manifesting as Intestinal Obstruction.
The Intestinal Obstruction in this Patient is the initial manifestation of Superior Mesenteric Vein Thrombosis; the Patient had no obvious symptoms in the early acute phase, possibly due to persistent mild intestinal ischemia, eventually leading to intestinal fibrosis, stricture, and obstruction."
"In addition, the Clinical manifestations of Superior Mesenteric Vein Thrombosis are usually non-specific. Color Doppler Ultrasound of the abdomen to check mesenteric blood flow, peritoneal effusion volume, and bowel wall thickness is helpful for diagnosis.
This test is quite difficult; I don't know if you are capable of performing it.
The sensitivity of Enhanced CT for diagnosing Superior Mesenteric Vein Thrombosis is over 90%. Furthermore, Enhanced CT can also evaluate intestinal ischemia, providing help in selecting Patients who meet the criteria for conservative treatment.
Scanning to detect the presence or absence of collateral circulation helps distinguish between acute and chronic Superior Mesenteric Vein Thrombosis. Although this Patient has been screened for common thrombotic states, the cause of the Superior Mesenteric Vein Thrombosis remains unclear."
When Lin Jiuze spoke about professional issues, he still seemed like a transparent person; Miao was a bit dazed, and looking at him, it seemed that after a dozen seconds, he didn't even know who was talking to him.
But the series of professional terminology and the habit of calling Enhanced CT 'CECT' made Miao feel like he was in a horror movie scene, with some mysterious force nearby talking to him.
"But..." Miao wanted to offer an explanation.
"There are no 'buts', carry out the medical orders." Lin Jiuze said firmly.
"Alright."
Miao didn't struggle at all and was defeated immediately.
Fan Dao was completely bewildered watching this. It was over just like that? Shouldn't there have been a fierce battle? How did Miao surrender after just a few sentences?
Miao contacted the CT Room, scheduled an emergency slice CT, and then took the Patient for the examination. Lin Jiuze didn't follow; Liang Zhuren refused to be filmed, and after greeting the crew, he left to go rest, as carefree as a lord.
Fan Dao saw Lin Jiuze hesitate for a moment, look around, and finally tear the paper into pieces, crumple it into a ball, and throw it into the wastebasket.
Like a thief, he picked up the waste paper and hid it away.
A few hours later, the results came out, and just as Lin Jiuze had said, the Patient did not have a simple Intestinal Obstruction, but an Intestinal Obstruction caused by Superior Mesenteric Artery Embolism.
Miao took the person to surgery, and Fan Dao fell into deep thought.
There were many strange things about the newcomer Lin Jiuze, and he truly felt it was odd.
"Director, take a look at this." Fan Dao's assistant leaned over and whispered.
"What's wrong?" Fan Dao asked, feeling uneasy.
"It's about the Camera Crew's side; the remaining video footage seems to have some problems."
"Something went wrong again! Dammit, something went wrong again! From now on, just go follow weddings! What's the use of keeping him, he can't do a damn thing right!!"
Fan Dao was furious and began to curse loudly.
He went over to the cameraman, who looked terrified and kept apologizing.
The camera team that could follow Fan Dao to record a hit variety show was well-known in the industry and top-tier; Fan Dao didn't tolerate any flaws.
But today, he didn't know what was going on; problems kept arising.
"Didn't record it again?" Fan Dao asked with a straight face.
"It was recorded, but the effect is bad." The cameraman was almost crying, and he said with a mournful face, "Director, it's all my fault, my fault. But I tried my best, I don't know what happened."
"Let me see."
Fan Dao also knew the situation was special, and after watching the post-recorded footage, he sighed deeply.
He didn't scold the cameraman too much, because the content recorded by the cameraman basically matched his own impression.
Fan Dao didn't say anything, returned to the car, and said he wanted to be alone.
He unfolded the paper Lin Jiuze had torn up and crumpled into the trash can, and Fan Dao saw very scribbled writing on it.
There was both Chinese and English, and Fan Dao looked at it for several minutes without understanding a thing.
He remembered a joke—years ago, when doctors wrote prescriptions by hand, the pharmacy department couldn't read them, and when the Patient went back to ask, the doctor said, "Why didn't you come back sooner? I've already forgotten what I wrote."
Fan Dao had always thought this joke was mocking doctors, but he hadn't expected to encounter it in reality.
He smoothed out the paper as much as possible, took a photo, and sent it to a doctor he was familiar with.
A dozen minutes later, Fan Dao received a call.
"Fan Dao, is this a guessing game from your variety show?" The doctor on the other end asked with a chuckle after picking up the phone.
"Old Sun, don't joke around, what is written on this?"
"In my opinion, it's a Differential Diagnosis, and it's done very meticulously." Doctor Sun said, "It starts with diagnosing Intestinal Obstruction, and includes the basis for the diagnosis and everything; although a lot of it is in English and the writing isn't continuous, I can understand it."
"And then?"
"Then it continues with the Differential Diagnosis; besides Intestinal Obstruction, it also did..."
Doctor Sun talked incessantly about 6 related diseases.
"The last one, Superior Mesenteric Artery Embolism, this diagnosis is simply like a celestial being descending from the heavens!" Doctor Sun praised, "It's rare to encounter Intestinal Obstruction caused by this type of disease in Clinical practice, but whenever it is encountered, it is almost 100% misdiagnosed."
"Uh..."
"I see the paper is all crumpled up; was some director at the Affiliated Hospital unhappy? What was the final diagnosis?"
Doctor Sun asked in pursuit.
Fan Dao gave a simple, perfunctory reply and fell into deep thought.
He tried hard to recall the scene from that time in his mind.
