Chapter 592: The Overlooked Detail
Lin Jiuze's "polite words" left Li Zhuren speechless.
When it comes to the difficulty of a surgery, the surgeon has the most say. Li Zhuren failed his first attempt at Super-selection at the very beginning, but later let Lin Jiuze take over, and Lin Jiuze succeeded in every single Super-selection on the first try, without exception.
Is this just a basic surgery?
"At Massachusetts General Hospital, your level must be among the best, right?" Li Zhuren asked.
"It's alright. In our medical profession, there is no 'number one' in literature; there are no unified standards," Lin Jiuze said very politely and "humbly."
This was said in a watertight manner; Lin Jiuze neither admitted nor denied it, but instead spoke vaguely.
Li Zhuren seemed to have forgotten Lin Jiuze's existence and began to stare blankly.
This scene appeared very abrupt on camera.
"Li Zhuren, how many patients are left?" Lin Jiuze asked.
"There are no more patients for emergency rescue in our department." Li Zhuren was startled for a moment, then answered with a smile of relief.
For doctors in the Interventional Department, the most common car accident rescue involves the diagnosis of pelvic fracture bleeding and surgical Embolization Hemostasis.
And even with Li Zhuren's technical level, he could not guarantee a quick completion.
The patient was in a state of Hemorrhagic Shock, and the slightest delay would lead to extremely serious consequences.
That is why Li Zhuren had an expression of relief after completing the surgery.
"That's good."
The scene switched back to the Review Room, and the Guangtou Zhuchiren began to chat with the guests about the surgery that had just taken place.
Although there was an animation process shown, the vast majority of the audience were not doctors and still needed professional doctors to provide commentary.
This segment was slightly long-winded and repetitive; for doctors, it was optional to watch.
"Lao Bai, let's have a drink!" Liu Zhuren raised his glass with a worried look on his face.
"Worrying about Xiao Ji isn't done like this." Bai Chuzhang didn't raise his glass, but smiled slightly, "There is still a long time left before the show ends."
"Damn it, the rescue is already over, and we haven't seen Xiao Ji show his face." Liu Zhuren stood up for Ji Xiang.
"I don't think so." Bai Chuzhang laughed, "Ding Laoban!"
Ding Xiang, the owner of Peiyang Barbecue, walked in while wiping his hands on his apron.
He was thin and tall; as he entered the door, he bent over, his forehead just brushing the door lintel, nearly hitting the wall.
"Bai Chuzhang, what's wrong?"
"Rewind the show." Bai Chuzhang pointed at the television and said.
"It hasn't ended yet, you want to rewind and watch it now?" Ding Xiang was puzzled, but when he turned his head and saw the Guangtou Zhuchiren, he suddenly realized, "Hahaha, I don't like this guy either. He looks kind, but he's actually very scheming. Look at how his mouth is always crooked; I reckon it's from bad-mouthing others too much."
"I think he's alright, especially when he hosted that dating show before; I watched it whenever I had time."
"..." Ding Xiang was choked back by Bai Chuzhang's words, but they were too familiar with each other; he knew Bai Chuzhang didn't mean to make things difficult for him, but just said whatever came to mind.
He smiled awkwardly, turned back to take the tablet, and switched it back to the beginning of the show.
"Bai Chuzhang, which part do you want to watch?"
"The car accident animation part."
Ding Xiang, the owner of Peiyang Barbecue, reached out to press the screen, but just then an advertisement popped up in the bottom left corner, and his finger landed right on the ad.
"Shows nowadays are getting more and more shameless; there are so many ads." Ding Xiang closed the advertisement page and said very dissatisfied, "You have to watch half an hour of ads for one episode, and I even paid for a membership. In this day and age, a VIP isn't even as good as the old VIPs; I feel like I'm a leek being harvested batch after batch just for watching a variety show."
"Where do you get so many complaints?" Bai Chuzhang scolded, "Hurry up."
Ding Xiang closed the advertisement page and reached out again.
Who knew that the ads in the bottom left corner weren't just one, but appeared one after another.
Ding Xiang's dark complexion turned a few shades darker.
A perfectly good variety show, yet they had to add so many ads; it was just like finding a fly while eating.
"How else would they make movie-level animations without ads?" Bai Chuzhang comforted Ding Xiang, "Ding Laoban, what do you think?"
"Bai Chuzhang, you are in the hospital every day, and I see that you have to be present for many emergency rescues; aren't you sick of watching emergency rescues yet?" The owner of Peiyang did not answer, but asked back instead.
"I think there's a problem." Bai Chuzhang said.
"A problem?" Liu Zhuren suddenly perked up.
Ding Xiang found that animation segment, and instead of leaving in a hurry, he took a cup himself and poured half a glass of wine from the bottle.
At the car accident scene, the perspective was that of a middle-aged man; his injuries were not severe, with contusions on the middle and lower part of his right thigh and swelling in the knee joint.
The animation provided a shot with a messy background next to it.
"Stop!" Bai Chuzhang said.
Ding Xiang was startled, then pressed pause.
"Here." Bai Chuzhang stood up and pointed at the television screen.
The animation background was scattered, a typical car accident scene, and it was made extremely realistically.
"There are clothes, toiletries; he's probably here on a business trip." Ding Xiang took a sip of wine and said.
"No, Lao Bai is talking about the Insulin." Liu Zhuren said.
"Insulin? Aren't you guys being too sensitive?"
"For a movie-level animation, just that one frame alone is worth more than your two months of net profit." Bai Chuzhang said, "There is no reason for it to be random; this is a detail."
Ding Xiang, the owner of Peiyang, clearly did not agree with Bai Chuzhang's statement; he felt that these doctors all had persecution mania.
"Lao Bai, the patient doesn't look like there's any major problem; there are contusions, there are fractures, and if there's a serious complication of diabetes, although it would be troublesome, it should be fine."
"Continue."
Ding Xiang clicked start, and the show continued.
"Ding Laoban, downloading while watching the show, you've spent quite a bit on your membership." Liu Zhuren joked.
"The platforms nowadays are very dark; there isn't much that a VIP can watch, and the more popular the show, the more VIP you need to buy, plus all that bullshit like early access screenings. Damn it!" Ding Xiang cursed.
Bai Chuzhang seemed not to hear Ding Xiang's nagging, instead re-watching the initial segment of the animation.
The Patient was rescued and laid flat on the ground; the Emergency Vehicle did not lift them onto the vehicle, but instead rescued more critical patients first.
This point was beyond reproach, yet Bai Chuzhang had Ding Xiang pause the animation again.
"Director Bai, speaking of which, can't you all buy a few more Emergency Vehicles? I know they are Mercedes-Benz and very expensive, but our Second Affiliated Hospital makes a fortune every day; we aren't short on this bit, are we?"
Ding Xiang asked teasingly.
"It has nothing to do with money." Bai Chuzhang stared intently at the screen, "No matter how many machines there are, you still need people; would you do it if a student who just graduated and hasn't obtained a Physician Certificate were swapped in?"
"Train more, then."
"It's not that easy." Bai Chuzhang did not say anything more to Ding Xiang.
"Lao Bai, I remember that when Xiao Ji was communicating with a Patient once, it seemed like they said they were injured at the time and lying on the ground with no one to care for them."
"No, I remember it was a bout of Cholecystitis, lying on the ground, and the pain decreased after the temperature dropped."
"Why don't I remember it that way?"
A discrepancy appeared in the memories of Bai Chuzhang and Liu Zhuren.
