Chapter 89: Going Live Post

~6 min read 1,156 words

It is time for the "Going Live" post again.

Sitting in front of the computer, I feel a bit lost.

It is not the "drawing my sword and looking around in a daze" kind of lost, but the kind of lost that comes from being physically and mentally exhausted.

My fate has been full of twists and turns; that is the only way to describe the time from when I started this book until now. To say more would just be tears. On the third day after starting the book, my normal routine was disrupted, and it stayed that way until a few days ago.

I won't play the victim during these critical days before going live; I can only take a deep breath and secretly rejoice that, fortunately, I didn't break the update streak.

Now that I am exhausted, I will light a cigarette, sit down, and chat with you all, speaking from the heart.

Since it is from the heart, let's start with a trip down memory lane.

In 2002, when I was writing about Zhou Congwen, Zhou Jiaoshou, the launch was very rushed, and the initial subscriptions were not good, which led to severe self-doubt at the time.

I felt that what I wrote was actually quite good and the pacing was tight, but the results were just poor.

I am no longer a young man, so I don't have much energy to complain about heaven or blame others; if the results are bad, it must be because I didn't write well. But even if it is bad, I must write a complete story; that is the promise.

On September 1st, everyone in the reader group was discussing voting for monthly tickets. Just as I was preparing to give up and play a single-player game, everyone hadn't given up yet, and several people cast dozens or even hundreds of monthly tickets in one go.

The monthly ticket ranking reached 44th place. It wasn't high, but it was enough. From then on, the daily increase in collections was good, and subscriptions climbed step by step. In the end, although it didn't reach ten thousand subscriptions, it reached eight thousand.

Honestly, my palms still sweat every time I recall this.

The quality of the book is certainly the most important thing, but "many hands make light work" is equally important.

By showing my face on the leaderboard, new and old readers would see it and think, "Old Xiong's book seems okay," and then click in to take a look.

And so, what followed happened.

My emotional intelligence is relatively low, I have mild social anxiety, and I don't like to spam the group much, just lurking occasionally. (Tomorrow's update content includes a section where I saw Anesthesia Doctor Xiao Ma complaining while lurking; I thought it was awesome, so I used it.)

I happened to see the discussion about voting at the time and took a screenshot. I won't list them one by one here, but I am very grateful whenever I think of it.

Later, another thing happened—the Peiyang Alliance organized a crowdfunding for a Golden Alliance. When I saw the news, I was waiting at a red light. When I got home ten minutes later, the crowdfunding had already reached 38% progress.

Emmm, I stopped the Golden Alliance matter. That day, I said a lot of heartfelt things in the group that I wouldn't usually say.

Being able to get votes and subscriptions is already enough to feel the overwhelming kindness; there is no need to spend so much money...

That is just how conflicted and contradictory I am.

But I am not being hypocritical; to speak the truth—being able to cast monthly tickets and come to the Qidian main site to subscribe is enough to feel the overwhelming kindness.

Honestly, results are indeed a very important thing.

So, I will ask for votes when I should. If I write well, there will naturally be more votes; this is inevitable. I will work hard to write and update, and in the days to come, I will constantly pester you all for votes.

As for the plot, I will try my best to polish it.

For example, the outline for 2002 was originally set to win three world championships, but after finishing the second one, my passion was exhausted. I knew that writing more would just be filler, so I directly cut a part of the outline.

Although the results were okay and I wanted to write more, the story was already told, so I ended it.

I still have that bit of professional integrity.

A complete story is very important. Although many things cannot be written directly, if you look carefully between the lines, you can always express them.

Memory lane trip over.

I just mentioned two moments from the ten months of writing 2002. Others, such as one morning when Xiaoyu suddenly said she would help me increase collections, or one day when a reader dragged me to chat about "Doctor Without Sleep," or... countless moments are all kept in my heart.

When people get old, they are willing to reminisce, doge. Looking back, the completion of the entire 2002 book is also very high, with a clear structure; it can be considered a professional "cool" novel.

Back to "Healing Doctor".

This book boldly attempts two points—Empathy and the gaze of a superior Doctor.

Because there are changes, I am not sure about the tastes of you readers, and I am extremely uneasy. I even had a fast heartbeat when I started the book, feeling nervous and anxious, and I nagged editor Huya for a long time.

Saying I am a newbie writer is definitely not me acting cute; I truly think so myself.

I have always been cautious and careful, conceiving the plot as if walking on thin ice; I have always been working hard to type, not daring to slack off even a little.

The scroll has already been unfurled, and I have conceived many interesting things; allow me to tell them to you bit by bit.

Going live tomorrow morning. I cannot set a timer, so I will update whenever I wake up.

The update volume will be 16,000. Because of the emergency that limited my saved drafts, I will make up for it with diligence.

I will burst out when I should, and I will update over ten thousand words a day when I should; there are no excuses.

So, next is the daily routine.

I have said so much, mainly to share my personal feelings: every monthly ticket is very important, and every subscription is very important.

Tomorrow is the launch, so I will shout it out loud—please vote, please subscribe.

I bow and thank the readers who have supported me in the past, present, and future.

Please vote!

Please subscribe!!

So, see you all tomorrow~

Bowing, ninety degrees, my old waist is creaking.
