Chapter 7: Re-entering the Dream World
Qin Chuan quickly installed the Dream Forum, clicked in and took a look.
The forum had pinned a lot of material, though it wasn't much different from what Zhou Zixiu had lectured on; inside there were many recently posted new threads, but most were meaningless content like "seeking eye-familiarity".
After glancing a few times, he quickly put his phone down.
To get meaningful content from the forum, he had to let the bullet fly a bit longer.
Compared to the forum, the Wild Survival Guide was more useful.
Qin Chuan opened the first page and began to read with relish.
Xiao Pang at the neighboring table was flipping through the forum, his expression growing more excited; he turned his head wanting to discuss with Qin Chuan, but seeing Qin Chuan earnestly reading the book, he paused, then silently put his phone down and opened the Wild Survival Guide.
Even with the Dream World, the real world still had to operate normally.
After confirming that the Dream World would not cause too much harm to reality, the senior year classes proceeded as usual.
However, the classmates obviously had no mind to listen to the lesson.
He quickly tested the pain condition and mobility of each body part, finally determining that his injury was not serious.
These wilderness survival skills based on the real world might not all be usable in the Dream World, but at least eighty percent were helpful for his current situation.
From this one could also see the painstaking effort of the Special Affairs Group.
Soon, the day's classes ended amid the differing thoughts of teachers and students.
It's a pity that he couldn't find near by some medicinal herbs mentioned in the guide that could help treat wounds; due to the difference between dream and reality, that part probably couldn't be used.
Next, he would wait for his injury to improve slightly, then be able to act before planning the next steps.
Within a range of no more than a hundred meters nearby, he found a relatively concealed spot; Qin Chuan hobbled over and then sat down gritting his teeth.
After returning home, Qin Chuan simply ate dinner, then picked up the Wild Survival Guide again.
As his consciousness returned to his body, Qin Chuan couldn't help but suck in a breath of cold air.
After all, putting themselves in others' shoes, they themselves also wished desperately to finish class quickly and go to the office to do the same things as the students.
The subject teacher on the podium looked down from above, taking in every move of the students; however, whereas they used to be strict, today they tacitly chose to turn a blind eye.
They either hid their phones beneath open textbooks to browse the Dream Forum's information, or clipped the Wild Survival Guide into open textbooks to study it carefully.
This guide was indeed full of substantive content; he read it all day, yet digested less than a tenth of it.
Turn off the lights, go to sleep.
——
"Hiss…"
The viscera might have experienced some jolts from the earlier tumble, but there was no life-threatening internal bleeding; after resting a while it would heal naturally.
How to find a safe water source, how to build a shelter barehanded without tools, how to conceal one's scent as much as possible while moving in the wild, how to infer the surrounding biological situation from traces…
Only when the preset eleven o'clock alarm on his phone rang did Qin Chuan reluctantly put the guide down, pick up his phone to browse the forum once around, confirm he hadn't missed any important messages, then place it by the bedside.
Most external wounds were abrasions, the bleeding had stopped, a few spots might have hairline fractures, but no breaks had occurred.
His healthy physique in reality almost made him forget that his injury in the Dream World had not yet healed.
Fortunately, after a day of wilderness survival study, Qin Chuan would not end up lying there waiting to die.
Or… encounter a ferocious Spirit Beast, delete the account and restart?
Wait! Maybe this would actually be faster!
After all, healing broken tendons and bones takes a hundred days; how could recovery be as fast as a restart?
Thinking this, Qin Chuan's gaze flicked to the large stone beside him.
He was considering the possibility of killing himself by crashing into it.
Just then, a slight sound pulled Qin Chuan's attention back.
Qin Chuan turned his head to look, and immediately his eyes showed a look of surprise.
He saw a familiar blue-green figure swiftly approaching.
It was the Water Leaf Dog that had left earlier.
In an instant, a hint of surprise and joy welled up in Qin Chuan's heart.
As the Water Leaf Dog drew near, Qin Chuan quickly noticed what it was holding in its mouth.
"Woof!"
The Water Leaf Dog quickly trotted up to Qin Chuan, placed what it was holding in its mouth on the ground, and wagged its tail happily.
Only then did Qin Chuan see clearly that it was some unfamiliar plants and two fruits.
"So, you left earlier to look for these?" Qin Chuan's eyes filled with a bit of realization and guilt.
It seemed he had misunderstood the Water Leaf Dog.
"Woof!"
The Water Leaf Dog nodded, then picked up a fruit again and placed it in Qin Chuan's hand.
"Can this be eaten?" Qin Chuan glanced at the fruit in his hand and asked cautiously.
"Woof!"
Having received an affirmative answer from the Water Leaf Dog, Qin Chuan casually wiped off the dirt on it and stuffed the fruit into his mouth.
The body in the Dream World likewise needs food and water; he had originally planned to wait until his body recovered mobility to search and try.
Gently biting through the skin, sweet juice burst from the fruit, flowing down the esophagus into the gastrointestinal tract, easing Qin Chuan's thirst, while the sugar it contained also refreshed his spirits a bit.
But what was even more astonishing was that after a brief digestion, Qin Chuan felt a surge of heat rising from his stomach into his limbs, relieving his bodily pain at a visible speed.
This fruit… can it heal wounds?!
Instantly, a look of surprise and joy appeared on his face as he gazed at the other identical fruit on the ground, as if looking at a treasure.
Immediately afterward, the Water Leaf Dog's action drew Qin Chuan's attention.
It controlled a stream of water, wrapping the other plants it had just fetched, forming in midair a water ball the size of a head.
The water ball spun rapidly, like a blender squeezing the essence from the plants, and the clear, transparent water quickly turned deep green.
Immediately afterward, under the Water Leaf Dog's control, the water flow wrapped each wound on Qin Chuan's body surface.
Qin Chuan did not resist; he sat quietly, cooperating with the Water Leaf Dog's movements, and he felt a sudden realization.
No wonder, when he examined his body, he always felt his wounds were very clean and there wasn't much dirt on him.
Probably while he was unconscious, the Water Leaf Dog had already used a similar method to perform a simple wound cleaning for him.
Waves of cool and refreshing feeling came from the wounds; after a few breaths, the green liquid became more turbid, and Qin Chuan's surface abrasions had completely healed, leaving no scar.
If such miraculous herbs existed in reality, people would surely fight desperately for them, but in the Dream World, the Water Leaf Dog can find them without much effort.
This is probably where the allure of the extraordinary lies.
