Chapter 710: Do You Dare to Meddle with Your Capabilities?_1
After confirming that his thoughts were correct, Yin Tian put away the five ancient books and carried them close to his body.
These ancient books clearly played a significant role; he had to handle them carefully to avoid any mistakes.
Having put away the books, Yin Tian sat cross-legged on his bed and began to practice the Breathing Skill, adjusting his condition.
Soon, there was no other sound in the room.
There was only Yin Tian’s even but somewhat strange breathing...
In the blink of an eye, a night passed by.
That day, before Yin Tian had even opened his eyes, he already heard muffled sounds arising from the front courtyard.
Yin Tian frowned slightly, got out of bed, and walked towards the front courtyard.
Upon arriving at the courtyard, he saw over a dozen Shadow Palace Assassins surrounding a middle-aged man.
On the ground, more than a dozen people lay there, including Earth-level Assassins from the Shadow Hall and even two Heaven-level Assassins!
"Stop."
Yin Tian spoke indifferently.
The dozen or so assassins who had been about to continue their assault on the middle-aged man immediately stopped in their tracks.
They turned around, faced Yin Tian, and respectfully saluted, "We see the Master."
"He’s one of us, stand down for now."
Yin Tian ordered.
"Yes."
The Shadow Palace Assassins promptly helped their fallen companions up and quickly left the area.
Yin Tian then looked at the middle-aged man, "Mr. Chi, I apologize, they didn’t recognize you, so they made a move on you."
The man was indeed Mr. Chi.
His chest rose and fell slightly, and in his eyes looking at Yin Tian, there was a hint of admiration, "Not bad, truly befitting of the Family Head’s disciple."
He could see that the people protecting Yin Tian and this courtyard were all skilled practitioners.
If Yin Tian had not come, continuing the fight would only have put him at a disadvantage.
Yin Tian gave a dry laugh, revealing a somewhat awkward smile.
These people were not truly under his command; he was just lucky to have picked up a ready-made team.
"Master, let’s go," Mr. Chi said to Yin Tian with a light smile. "After I went home yesterday, I told my father about this place, and he was so excited, he didn’t sleep well all night. He urged me early in the morning to come and find you, and I had no choice but to come over."
"No worries, no worries."
Yin Tian waved his hand and then followed Mr. Chi towards the door.
Outside, a military vehicle was waiting.
Mr. Chi led Yin Tian directly into the vehicle, and then looked at the driver, "Let’s go, back home."
"Yes."
The driver responded, started the vehicle, and took Mr. Chi and Yin Tian away from the spot.
Yin Tian kept an eye on the scenes outside the window, noticing that the vehicle had not left Central City but headed south, eventually arriving at the southernmost part of Central City.
Below the city wall, a strong gate sat there.
Upon seeing Mr. Chi’s vehicle approach, the gate slowly opened.
The vehicle then drove through.
After passing through the gate, Yin Tian was slightly taken aback.
He had always been curious about where the Imperial City actually was within the Imperial Capital.
Now he finally understood.
The city wall he had passed before was just an illusion; beyond that wall lay the Imperial City!
Because only the six major families resided within the Imperial City, it was not very large.
A glance took in an area of roughly five thousand square meters.
The enormous courtyards of the six families lined the sides of the road, and at the end of the line of sight was a resplendent palace!
"Is that the residence of the King?"
Yin Tian asked subconsciously.
"Yes."
Mr. Chi answered softly, "Within the Imperial City, the Chi Family is in charge of all military forces, whereas the Hou Family manages various affairs, like the ancient Council Hall. Important matters from the provinces all pass through the Hou Family for decisions before being presented to the King."
"That Hou Family really does have a lot of authority,"
Yin Tian said with a light chuckle, "A single word can determine the fate of an entire province."
"Although it doesn’t sound very nice, that’s the reality."
Mr. Chi also laughed, "Even so, if the Hou Family were to speak a few words to the King, they could even take away our military command."
Yin Tian nodded slowly, not speaking.
Soon, the vehicle stopped in front of the residence to the right, closest to the palace.
"Master, we’ve arrived,"
Mr. Chi got out of the car and respectfully addressed Yin Tian.
Yin Tian nodded and got out of the vehicle, following Mr. Chi into the residence.
"My father is resting upstairs, may I ask for the Master’s permission to announce your arrival?"
After seeing Yin Tian nod, Mr. Chi immediately started walking upstairs.
Yin Tian stood in the living room, surveying his surroundings.
The Chi Family, descendants of a military lineage, had no antiques or paintings in the living room; instead, it was filled with various types of weapons and armor—the accoutrements of the battlefield.
At that moment, a person walked in from outside.
It was a young man, handsome, tall, and broad-shouldered, radiating a powerful aura of lethality.
As he walked in, he immediately saw Yin Tian, "Who are you?"
"Yin Tian."
"Oh?"
The young man’s brows raised sharply upon hearing this, "Are you the person my father mentioned yesterday?"
"I advise you to leave quickly."
"Do you really think you can lay a finger on the Chi Family?"
