Chapter 10: Letter
"Hum—, what a cheap kid," Vernon muttered.
I don't know if it's because he's been eating well lately, or if he's hit a growth spurt, but Harry has indeed grown a lot; that stairwell will soon be too cramped.
They were also considering moving Harry upstairs, but that house has always been where Dali stores his toys, and they feared that if they suggested it, Dali would refuse.
Now that Dali himself brought it up, they no longer objected to anything.
They didn't even think it over.
Dali said nothing and picked up the sandwich on the table to eat.
His abilities as a lawyer and arbitrator allow him to keenly spot details and loopholes that others miss, and by Rely On his own authority, subtly achieve his goals.
Giving Harry a new Bedroom is just a smooth push.
"Kid, bring the letters over quickly."
Seeing that Harry hadn't returned after a moment, Vernon shouted loudly in the kitchen.
"What are you doing, checking the letters for bombs?"
He made a joke and then laughed to himself.
Dali returned a polite smile and continued eating his sandwich.
To be fair, United Kingdom food is truly terrible; he feels a bit of Nostalgia for the food of that world, which in some ways was far tastier than the sandwich he's eating now.
Harry trudged back to the kitchen, holding four envelopes; he handed the bill and postcard to Vernon, then placed a heavy parchment envelope on the table in front of Dali, while he sat aside with another parchment envelope.
"Hmm? A letter for me?"
Dali felt a bit of Doubt.
Who would write a letter to him?
He glanced at it; the envelope was made of heavy parchment, looking very exquisite, and the address was written in jade‑green ink.
Strangely, there was no stamp.
Surry County
Xiao Huijin District
4 Nuzhen Road
Second‑floor Bedroom
Attn: Mr. Dali De Si Li
Dali glanced at Harry and found that the letter Harry held was almost identical to his.
"Could it be from the school?"
Dali thought to himself.
The only way both of them could receive letters at the same time is the school, since they've already graduated and are about to go to middle school; it could be from the new school.
Thinking that, Dali didn't rush to open his own letter, planning to finish his sandwich first.
Vernon tore open the bill, let out a disgusted hum—, and then flipped the postcard over.
"Maggie fell ill after eating a problematic moth snail…"
Saying that, Vernon waved the postcard in his hand, intending to show it to Penny.
But when he turned his head, he suddenly noticed that Harry also had a letter, and he reached up to snatch it away.
"That's my letter!"
Harry shouted loudly, trying to wrest the letter back.
He had never received a letter in his whole life; this was his first time getting a mailed letter, and he was overjoyed, but before he could open it, Vernon snatched it away.
"Hum—, who would write you a letter? Be honest, kid, or you'll keep living in the stairwell forever."
Fonu let out a hum and said, casually tearing open the letter and looking through it.
Dali frowned beside him but didn't think much of it.
After Vernon finished reading, he would most likely return it to Harry.
But the next moment, he saw his father's complexion change dramatically, so obvious that he didn't even need to Rely On Extraordinary Ability to notice—it was evident on his face.
A few seconds later.
"Pe—Penny!"
He gasped heavily and shouted.
Penny hurried over, grabbed the letter, glanced at it, and nearly choked.
"Dali De Si Li! Oh my god, what am I to do—"
Penny and Vernon kept looking at each other, as if they'd completely forgotten there were other people in the kitchen.
"What's happening?"
Harry keenly sensed that this letter was not ordinary; it was certainly not what he had guessed—it was from the middle school.
Who could that be?
"That's my letter! Give it back!"
Harry couldn't bother with that any longer, leapt up to snatch the letter, but he was too short to reach it.
"Both of you, get out!"
"Out!"
Vernon shouted loudly.
His complexion was extremely grim, and he couldn't care less about anything else as he roared at Dali and Harry simultaneously.
"Give me back my letter!"
"Give it back!"
Harry was eager to see the letter's contents; it was his first time receiving a mailed letter.
"Go!"
Dali saw this, said nothing, and directly pulled Harry out of the kitchen.
Bang!
The kitchen door slammed shut behind them, cutting off the two from the hallway outside.
"What are you doing? That's my letter, my letter!"
Harry said excitedly.
"Don't be hasty; I have a similar one here. Let's look at it first."
Dali waved the parchment letter in his hand.
"Right!"
Harry suddenly recalled that Dali had also received a letter identical to his.
He had thought it came from the middle school, but judging by Uncle Vernon's and Aunt Penny's attitudes now, it clearly wasn't.
"Come here."
Harry said nothing, pulled Dali straight into the cramped stairwell, to prevent Uncle Vernon and Aunt Penny from bursting out and snatching this letter as well.
Crowded in the narrow space, both of their breaths were a bit rapid.
"Quickly open it and look."
Harry urged.
Dali didn't waste words, turned over the envelope, and saw the wax seal: a shield emblem, a capital "H" surrounded by a lion, an eagle, a badger, and a snake.
"What a curious emblem."
After speaking, Dali tore open the wax seal, took out the letter inside, and the two eagerly began to read.

Vice Principal
Mi Le Wa Mai Ge, respectfully
Looking at the contents on the letter, Harry was completely stunned.
And Dali also showed a look of Shock.
In this world, there are indeed wizards, and even a dedicated wizard school.
Even more amazing, he had received an admission notice from a Magic School.
Wait, Harry received the same letter, which means Harry also got the school's admission notice.
Dali glanced at the dazed Harry beside him, who hadn't yet come to his senses, and all the things he couldn't figure out before clicked into place at that moment.
This world is not an ordinary world either.
This is a Magic World!
