Chapter 22: No Entry
"That is…"
The green light imprinted on Dali's eyes; he clearly felt the life force of the ring vanish, as if it had been dissolved in an instant.
"A spell that can kill a person outright!"
Dali reacted almost instantly.
In the distant darkness, at the instant the light flared, Dali vaguely saw a figure cloaked entirely in a black cape.
In his hand he held a slender wooden piece—it must be a wand.
"Careful!"
Hagrid reacted the next moment; as his massive body stepped back, he shielded Harry and Dali behind him.
"That green light…"
Harry was completely Stunned at this point.
His gaze seemed dazed; in his green eyes the pupils were fully dilated, as if he had fallen into another world.
All that remained in his eyes was that green light.
That green light had appeared countless times in his nightmares; he didn't understand what it was or why that green light existed.
Now, he knows.
It is a spell that can kill a person outright.
In other words, the green light in his nightmare was the one released when Voldemort killed his entire family.
Boom!
The next instant, a red beam burst out, striking Hagrid directly.
But before that, Hagrid produced his battered little umbrella, waved it, and a semi‑transparent barrier seemed to briefly deflect the incoming red beam.
"Ah…"
Hagrid let out a howl as his massive body was blasted away, crashing onto the ground nearby and instantly losing the ability to move.
"Damn!"
Dali had originally thought Hagrid could still be of some use, but he didn't expect him to be killed instantly the moment he acted.
"Run… run fast, run…"
Hagrid struggled to speak, his voice very weak.
"Go."
Dali quickly grabbed the still‑dazed Harry, and the two fled toward the nearby stalagmite column.
Whoosh.
Another dark‑red beam shot out, striking the stalagmite column where Dali and Harry were hiding.
With a booming sound, the column shattered in a large piece by the spell, and several huge stalactites above the cavern fell down.
Fortunately, Dali reacted swiftly, pulling Harry to avoid disaster.
"Harry Potter, the boy who lived through great peril."
A deep, hoarse voice came.
It didn't sound human at all; it seemed produced by some kind of Magic.
Upon hearing the voice, Harry's body suddenly stiffened.
He didn't Recognise the voice, but the feeling seemed to return him to the moment the green light lit up in his nightmare.
"That mysterious person?"
Dali's complexion changed.
"Damn, I just came to the bank to get some money, how did I run into that Voldemort? Isn't he dead?"
Dali's face looked grim; this was too unlucky.
Or perhaps this mysterious person had already calculated that Harry would come to Gulingge for money today, and thus waited here in advance?
But that doesn't make sense; how did he know Harry would come here today? Divination?
Wait, his original target couldn't be that thing in Vault No. 713, right? He just didn't expect to run into Harry?
A flood of thoughts rushed through Dali's mind.
Such a scene truly left him at a loss.
Although it's uncertain whether the black‑clad man before him is the legendary Dark Lord, there's no doubt his power is great.
"You run. His target is me; I should be able to buy some time."
Harry glanced at Dali beside him, took a deep breath, and said,
This terrifying wizard came to kill him.
Since that's the case, there's no need to involve Dali.
Even though his cousin isn't much, he can't let him die here.
After all, he's innocent.
Anyone who can run, count them.
"Do you think he'll spare me?"
Dali's expression grew serious.
"Don't you dare" come out?
The deep hoarse voice sounded again, and Dali could feel the evil aura on him drawing nearer.
The alarm sounded as soon as the battle erupted, but Gulingge's underground is so vast that even rushing over would take considerable time.
"So slow."
Dali was burning with impatience.
Wasn't this supposed to be the safest place in the Magic World? Why, after giving advance notice and the battle dragging on this long, has no one appeared?
Damn it!
Dali cursed silently as he scraped his right hand against the sharp rock nearby, breaking the skin and causing blood to flow out immediately.
He immediately reached into his clothing and seized the brass book with a metallic feel.
Dali's blood kept pouring out, flowing onto the Trensost Brass Book, causing the intricate engravings to emit a faint light.
Sealed Object No. 002 has been activated.
The people from Gulingge can't save you.
Blast you to pieces!
The moment the low sound rang out, the terrifying blast shattered the stalactite where the two were hiding into pieces.
Ah……
Harry let out a pained scream, then was hurled by the huge impact into the nearby wall, where he hit and fell to the ground.
He struggled to lift his head.
Dali was also blown away, and Hagrid had fallen silent, his fate unknown.
At this moment, it seemed as if he were the only person left in the entire underground vault.
This time, no one stood before him to block the threat of death.
Dad, Mom, I'm coming to join you.
Harry thought to himself.
His magical career had barely begun, yet it was about to end here—what a pity.
He had finally begun to hope for the future—even his bullying cousin had stopped tormenting him, everything was heading in the best direction, he was about to enter Hogwarts Magic School and become a wizard, but at this moment, God played a huge joke on him……
The mysterious person who killed his family had appeared again—or perhaps not that person, maybe just his fanatic follower; either way, Harry truly had nowhere to escape this time.
Whoosh!
That black-clad figure leapt up, turning into a bat-like shape, swooping through the air straight toward Harry.
He seemed to want to examine, before killing Harry, what made this boy who had survived a great calamity so special.
Hum!
Suddenly, a terrifying aura appeared in the underground vault—an indescribable majesty, as if one had grasped a supernatural authority that towered over all beings.
Flight is prohibited here.
A voice of immense dignity sounded.
The next moment, the black-clad figure who had been flying four or five meters above the ground plummeted down and slammed into the floor with a bang.
It was as if some ineffable rule had bound his movements.
