Chapter 21: Avada Killing

~5 min read 995 words

Dali's expression immediately became very solemn.

This time the evil aura he sensed was much richer than before.

This shows that the hidden person is not far from them, and it seems something has happened that prevented him from properly controlling his own aura, his emotions fluctuating wildly.

"Could it be…"

As La Huan's finger was about to trace the bottom of Vault 713's door, the vault door was about to open.

A thought flashed through Dali's mind— that person's target was the contents of Vault 713.

That explains why he has been tailing them and why the evil aura erupted when the vault door was about to open.

"Wait!"

In his haste, Dali didn't have time to think and spoke immediately.

"What?"

La Huan's hand trembled slightly, his brows furrowed as he looked at Dali.

"Kid, what are you doing?"

Hagrid said discontentedly.

His mission had already been delayed, and this kid was still wasting his time at this moment.

"I have a question."

Dali tried to keep his voice steady so that the person hidden in the shadows wouldn't notice anything.

"What question?"

Hagrid asked impatiently.

Dali ignored Hagrid, walked slowly forward, and arrived in front of La Huan.

"What are you going to do?"

La Huan asked coldly.

"To the left, about twenty meters from us, behind that massive stalactite, there's someone who has been tracking us here."

Dali spoke in a lowered voice.

Upon hearing Dali's words, La Huan and Hagrid were both startled, while Harry beside them looked completely clueless.

"He might be here to rob Gulingge!"

Dali continued.

There was nothing else he could do but report the problem he discovered to the authorities; he could no longer handle the situation himself.

"Kid, do you know what you're saying? Robbing Gulingge, are you crazy?"

Hagrid's face darkened as he said, Suspect Dali was pranking him, but he also lowered his voice and didn't shout.

All along, he had told Harry and Dali how safe Gulingge was, that no one could steal anything here, and now this kid has caused such a trouble— isn't that clearly making trouble out of nothing?

"Sir, do you realize how serious your accusation is? No one can infiltrate Gulingge, let alone rob anything here; I hope you understand what you're saying."

La Huan said arrogantly.

Gulingge is the safest place in the world; no thefts have occurred in years, and he simply didn't believe Dali's words.

"Mr. La Huan, I believe Gulingge maintains its reputation because it spares no possible suspicion, ensuring long‑term flawless security. Are you really going to ignore my sincere warning? If anything happens later, you will be held responsible!"

Dali said seriously, invoking the persuasive power of a lawyer and the authority of an arbitrator.

That evil aura felt far too dangerous to him; his cautious nature could not tolerate such peril so close.

After Dali finished speaking, La Huan's complexion changed immediately.

The teenager before him was only slightly shorter; if anyone else said those words, he probably wouldn't have cared, but hearing them from Dali made him find them very reasonable.

"Alright, I'll go check."

La Huan thought for a moment and said.

Hagrid frowned at Dali; for some reason, he also thought Dali's words made sense, yet hearing them from Dali still felt unreal.

"Hagrid, you wouldn't want any Appearance of error in the top‑secret mission Professor Dengbulido gave you, would you?"

Dali glanced at Hagrid and said.

"I hope you're not talking nonsense, or you'll be finished; the consequences of messing with Gulingge are quite severe."

Hagrid said, but at the same time his hand slipped into his pocket, grasping the old little rain umbrella he had earlier.

La Huan gave Dali one last look, turned, and prepared to head toward the spot Dali had indicated.

"I suggest you notify Gulingge."

Dali advised.

"If you're just deceiving me, perhaps the punishment won't be severe, but if I notify Gulingge…" La Huan said indifferently, looking at Dali.

"Notify Gulingge."

Dali said solemnly.

"Alright."

La Huan said no more, slipped his hand into his coat pocket, and pressed a Magic device stored inside.

This is one of Gulingge's defensive measures; if any anomaly is detected, this Magic device can be activated to alert Gulingge's personnel to investigate.

La Huan said nothing further, turned, and walked toward the distant stalactite.

Meanwhile, Dali began to retreat slowly.

The fairy was too reckless, swaggering right past; that person must have already noticed the anomaly and must get as far away as possible.

"What are you doing?"

Harry couldn't help but ask.

He had no idea what was happening— Dali was messing with Gulingge?

This is probably even crazier than telling the flight attendants after boarding the plane that I had a bomb.

"Shut up, follow me."

Dali coldly rebuked while pulling Harry backward.

Everything seems quite normal, Lahuan and Hagrid did not noticed any danger, they until now, believes Dali is teasing them.

They only followed Dali's instructions because they wanted to prove Dali was wrong.

This is Gulingge, this is the safest place in the Magic World.

Of Course, in Hagrid's eyes, this is the safest place besides Hogwarts.

Creak creak creak…

Lahuan stepped with his short legs toward the stalactite.

Dali's gaze fixed firmly on that side.

He didn't know what reaction the hidden person would have, but this was the best preparation he could manage.

"Hope it's just an unknown petty thief."

Dali muttered to himself.

"There is Lack any person, kid, you wait……"

Lahuan was already very close to the stalactite, but he still found nothing.

Just then, Dali suddenly felt a creepy sensation.

Evil, madness, gloom, fear... various negative emotions surged forth, making one's scalp tingle.

"Avada Kedavra!"

Pfft.

A brilliant green light suddenly flared, shooting straight from the darkness and striking Lahuan, freezing the sneer on his face completely.

In that instant, time seemed to become eternity.

In everyone's eyes, only that brilliant green remained.
