Chapter 47: This Is Reasonable

"Oh, my god, he succeeded."

"So impressive, he succeeded on the first try."

"He didn't practice in secret, did he?"

……

Everyone who saw the scene showed an Unbelievable expression.

Professor McGonagall's originally grim face brightened considerably when she saw Dali successfully turn a match into a needle.

"Hmm, a decent Transfiguration Spell."

Professor McGonagall commented.

Although she tried hard to appear calm, she couldn't suppress the upward curve of her mouth.

"Everyone, look—Mr. Dursley has already fully cast the Transfiguration Spell, and it was very successful."

"Everyone should learn from him, understand?"

"Gryffindor gets five points."

Professor McGonagall nodded at Dali, turned around, and returned to the podium.

"Oh, no, you actually succeeded."

Hermione said, unwilling to be outdone.

She took out her wand and muttered the incantation at the match on the table.

The match trembled slightly, its tip turned into a needle, but the head remained a match head.

"How did you do it?"

Hermione turned her head to look at Dali.

"That's how it's done," Dali said, spreading his hands.

These simple spells posed no difficulty for Dali, who can precisely control spiritual energy; he had already succeeded during the summer vacation.

Hermione bit her lip; she had practiced beforehand, yet still hadn't been the first, which gave her a deep sense of frustration and some anger.

Of Course, that anger wasn't directed at Dali, but at herself.

Because she could have done better.

"Impressive," Luoen and Harry said beside them.

The two were not particularly Shocked by Dali directly casting the Transfiguration Spell, after all Dali had already demonstrated his Repair Spell on the train.

And regarding Dali surpassing them as the first to complete the Transfiguration Spell, they felt no burden and were happy for him.

After all, they were self‑aware and never considered that they could be the first to successfully cast this spell.

In the time that followed, Professor McGonagall continued to explain some key points of the Transfiguration Spell, then let everyone start trying on their own while she personally came over to guide them.

Even so, by the end of class only Hermione had completed the Transfiguration Spell; the others still gained little.

After class, once everyone else had left, Dali slowed his pace, and after they were gone he walked toward Professor McGonagall.

"What's wrong, Dali? Do you have any other questions?"

Professor McGonagall, upon seeing Dali, unusually showed a smile, and didn't even use his surname, calling him by his first name directly, evidently pleased with his classroom performance.

She thought she needed to reassess this child from the Dursley family.

"Professor McGonagall, may I ask, does our Nation have any unregistered Animagus?" Dali asked.

"Unregistered Animagus?" Professor McGonagall frowned and said, "I'm sorry, I'm not very clear on that. But I think, even if they exist, they must be extremely rare. After all, Animagus is a highly advanced transformation art; the process is prone to errors, and if a problem occurs, one may never revert to human form."

"I see," Dali nodded.

Professor McGonagall pushed up her glasses, stared carefully at Dali, and said earnestly, "Dali, although your talent is good, never think you can attempt to cultivate such an advanced transformation art; it's prone to problems. Do you understand my meaning?"

"I understand, Professor McGonagall, thank you for the reminder; I'm just a bit interested in Animagus."

Dali said with a smile.

Obviously, McGonagall thought Dali wanted to cultivate this transformation art.

"Very well, maintaining interest is essential to learning, but remember, do not touch anything beyond your ability," McGonagall said.

"Alright, thank you, Professor McGonagall."

After thanking, Dali left the classroom.

He had been pondering whether to tell others that Luoen's mouse might be an Animagus.

After thinking it over, he dismissed the idea.

First, doing so would easily bring trouble to himself. Second, this world, unlike Guiyi Shijie, lacks a dedicated church of enforcers to manage such matters; as a child, hardly anyone would believe him.

Moreover, even if a report were needed, he couldn't be the one to do it.

"We'll see how it goes; if necessary, let Harry report it. The famous Harry Potter discovering his friend's mouse is an Animagus is quite reasonable," Dali thought to himself.

His experience in the Tarot Society taught Dali that many things don't need to be done personally, especially dangerous ones. Reasonably using official power to achieve goals is truly more efficient.

In the hallway.

Harry and Luoen were waiting for Dali; when they saw him emerge, the three walked together toward the common room.

"Hermione's expression was simply Speechless. It's as if you completed the Transfiguration Spell and stole her spotlight; that look makes it seem like no one can surpass her."

"Her personality is like that; maybe she's just stronger, not that she has any issue with me," Dali said.

Luoen wanted to say something else, but Harry stopped him.

"Alright, we're all friends, and she even spoke up for us before," Harry said.

He was referring to that incident on the train.

Hearing that, Luoen said nothing more.

In the following days, everyone took many interesting classes.

For example, Herbology, which let Dali learn many Magic World plants, some of which possess spiritual power, and even a portion of the herbs are connected to Guiyi Shijie.

This made Dali start to think, when digesting a new Extraordinary Trait in the future, perhaps he could prepare some Magic Pills to use together, to reduce the risk of losing control.

Besides that, the Magic History course was also very interesting.

Of Course, Dali's so-called interesting does not refer to the course itself, but to the people attending the class.

Professor Bins is the only Ghost Professor; it is said that back then he slept in front of the fireplace, and the next day when he was supposed to teach, he forgot to bring his own body, thus becoming a ghost and continuing his educational career.

In class, other students were half-asleep in Professor Bins's hypnotic voice, while Dali kept staring at Professor Bins, analyzing what kind of situation this ghostly existence actually was. To Dali, this was very interesting.

However, this carefree situation did not last long; on Thursday afternoon, Dali and his two friends received a notice that they needed to go to Professor Dengbulido's office that evening.

Ma Er Fu's father came to question them.
