Chapter 55: Report
"What is that…"
"Dali's face twitched slightly."
"It was too far away for him to sense anything, but he had a faint feeling of unease."
"Ya Ya, step back, move aside."
"Come in quickly."
"Hagrid's voice came over."
"Welcome, Harry."
"This is Luoen, Luoen Weisilai."
"Harry introduced Ron to Hagrid."
"Another Weisilai child, hurry inside."
"And Dali?"
"While Hagrid invited Harry and Ron inside, he glanced toward a short distance away and saw Dali standing more than ten meters away, looking toward the Forbidden Forest."
"Dali, come inside quickly."
"Hagrid waved at Dali."
"However, Dali did not move."
"His gaze remained fixed on the Forbidden Forest."
"\"It's gone. \" Dali frowned."
"In the blink of an eye, that gaze vanished, as if it had never appeared."
"At that moment, Dali wanted to rush into the Forbidden Forest to see what it was."
"But he quickly suppressed his curiosity."
"He is currently only a first-year Hogwarts student, with his extraordinary Sequence only at Sequence Nine, unable to handle those dangerous situations."
"Dali, what are you looking at?"
"Hagrid saw Dali not moving, his face full of doubt, walked over, and simultaneously looked toward the Forbidden Forest."
"Dali turned his head to Hagrid, and immediately made a decision."
"\"Oh, Hagrid, I just saw what seemed to be a person inside the Forbidden Forest. \""
"Dali said directly."
"\"Reporting, this is the most useful skill he learned in the Tarot Society. \""
"When danger is discovered and one cannot handle it oneself, the best way is to hand these threats over to professionals to deal with."
"There is no church here, but at Hogwarts, anything can be resolved by seeking the teachers' help."
"As a student, and moreover a first-year who has just enrolled, this is very reasonable."
"\"Anyone there? \""
"Hagrid's expression changed instantly, and he carefully looked into the Forbidden Forest."
"\"I didn't see anyone at all. \""
"Hagrid said."
"\"I indeed saw a person, but he seemed to have noticed me and ran deeper into the Forbidden Forest. \""
"Dali said."
"\"Could it be a centaur? Oh, no, they generally don't appear at the edge of the Forbidden Forest. \""
"Hagrid guessed, but quickly dismissed that possibility."
"\"It shouldn't be a centaur; I read in a book that they are much taller than us. \" Dali said."
"Hagrid hesitated a bit."
"Harry and Ron had already come out of Hagrid's hut at this point and were both looking toward the Forbidden Forest."
"\"Could it be that a student ran away and hid in there? \""
"\"Luoen said at the right moment. \""
"\"Yeah, Hagrid, maybe it's a student; he had prepared to leave, but after seeing us, he feared punishment, so he had no choice but to flee deeper into the Forbidden Forest. \""
"Dali quickly took over Luoen's words."
"Hearing this, Hagrid's face finally became somewhat solemn."
"\"You wait here; I'll go into the Forbidden Forest to check. \""
"Hagrid said immediately."
"If a student really entered the Forbidden Forest, that would be extremely dangerous."
"Moreover, this situation has happened before; for example, Luoen's brother once secretly entered the Forbidden Forest."
"\"Hagrid, should we tell Professor Dengbulido about this? \""
"Dali was a bit uneasy."
"\"No need; we can't bother Professor Dengbulido with everything—he's very busy. \""
"Hagrid took a lantern from the house, led Ya Ya, and walked toward the Forbidden Forest."
"\"Besides, I am the gamekeeper; this is naturally my duty. \""
"\"Don't worry; I know the Forbidden Forest very well. \""
"As Hagrid spoke, he had already entered the Forbidden Forest and quickly disappeared from the sight of the three."
"\"What did you see? \""
"Harry looked at Dali."
"\"If someone else said they saw something, Harry might consider that they were seeing things, but since Dali said he saw something, Harry wouldn't have too much doubt. \""
Because it was Dali's keen intuition at Gulingge that let them escape a disaster.
"Uncertain, but it should be a person."
Dali said.
After Hagrid left, the three waited a while and then returned to the cabin.
On the table, Hagrid had prepared some snacks and tea treats for them.
The three didn't hold back and sat together to eat.
Dali was interested in some items in Hagrid's cabin; there were many objects with spiritual power, most of which seemed to have been brought from the forest.
"Some of these things seem usable for ritual Magic."
Dali observed while silently noting these things in his mind.
He did not recite that mysterious revered name again. On one hand, he didn't know exactly what place it referred to; on the other, staying there required a continual drain of spiritual power, and with his current ability he could not remain there long, let alone explore.
He plans to go there to investigate after his Sequence completes its promotion.
Dali feels that the promotion to Sequence Eight is near, likely within a day or two.
What he must face next is how to role‑play the barbarian of the Black Emperor Sequence Eight and the Law Enforcement Officer of the Judicator Sequence Eight.
"A barbarian's physical condition is greatly enhanced. When Laws cannot be reasoned with, force is used—that's the core of role‑playing a barbarian."
From this perspective, Dali will probably have to stir up some trouble during his role‑play to achieve solving problems with force.
"The Law Enforcement Officer is relatively easier to role‑play; perhaps I could do so by protecting Hogwarts. Unfortunately I'm not old enough yet; otherwise, the Grade Leader and the Law Enforcement Officer at Hogwarts share many similarities, and becoming a Grade Leader would make role‑playing a Law Enforcement Officer much easier."
But that point is hard for Dali to achieve; by the time his age is sufficient to become a Grade Leader, it will be too late.
"I wonder if I can snag some Grade Leader privileges early; that way I might speed up the role‑play."
In Hagrid's cabin.
The three waited for Hagrid's return while Dali mentally plotted his upcoming role‑play plan.
Finally, near dusk, a faint howl and heavy footsteps came from outside.
"Hagrid has returned."
Luoen glanced out the window, stood up at once, and rushed out.
Harry and Dali followed closely behind.
Hagrid's towering figure appeared at the edge of the Forbidden Forest; judging by the footsteps, they were heavy, and he seemed to be carrying something.
They saw that beneath Hagrid's dark silhouette, in his arms was an animal emitting a faint silvery glow.
"Oh, what is that?"
Luoen exclaimed in surprise.
Dali's gaze sharpened; he had already recognized the animal in Hagrid's arms.
"Unicorn! Luoen, the core of your wand is made from unicorn hair."
Dali said.
Indeed, Hagrid is holding a unicorn. Judging by its size, it is a juvenile unicorn.
However, it looks very weak, as if it has suffered serious injuries.
