Chapter 80
In today's Charms class, Professor Flitwick announced that they could begin attempting to cast the Levitation Spell.
This delighted many people; ever since the last time Professor Flitwick made Neville's toad fly all over the classroom, many have been looking forward to being able to cast this spell themselves.
Professor Flitwick divided everyone into pairs and began the training.
Dali was paired with Harry, while Luoen was paired with Hermione, and Neville was paired with the explosive prodigy Ximo.
"I have a feeling about those two…" Harry whispered to Dali, while his eyes glanced toward Luoen and Hermione.
Dali followed Harry's gaze and saw that neither of the two gave the other a straight look; it's hard to say who would be more annoyed after being paired together.
"Let me tell you, in this situation they either will never speak to each other again or might end up together." Dali said with a light laugh, watching Luoen and Hermione's awkwardness.
"Huh? Why?" Harry asked, eyes wide in surprise.
"Intuition." Dali shrugged.
"Then I have the Belief that they'll never speak again is more likely; you don't know how much Luoen now dislikes Hermione." Harry said.
Dali said nothing further; he also didn't know why he had that feeling.
Perhaps it came from a psychological analysis? He couldn't recall clearly, only a golden dog flashed through his mind.
"Alright, make sure you don't forget the subtle wrist movement we've been training," Professor Flitwick's voice came, as he stood as usual on the high stack of books, waving his hand.
"A flick, a shake—remember, a flick, a shake. Pronouncing the incantation correctly is crucial, Leviosa Spell…"
Ximo waved his wand and intoned, "Leviosa Spell…"
Boom!
A flash of fire burst, and the classroom erupted in gasps.
Professor Flitwick was so frightened he nearly fell off the books.
Everyone looked at Ximo, who at that moment had turned black.
"Oh my God."
Professor Flitwick exclaimed.
"I only wanted to make it fly…"
Ximo said helplessly, and it was clear he was Regret.
"It's fine, art is explosion." Dali comforted.
"Thanks." Ximo forced a smile.
Professor Flitwick, Speechless, shook his head, feeling the kid was probably useless.
"Alright, everyone try it now, remember what I just said."
Professor Flitwick said.
"Leviosa Spell."
Harry began to try.
But it sounds simple, yet it's hard to do.
Even though Harry followed Professor Flitwick's instructions, the feather gave no response; no matter how he varied his tone, the feather lay motionless on the desk.
Dali tried to correct Harry's pronunciation, but after a few words, Hermione and Luoen's argument came from the next table.
"You're so good, then try it yourself." Luoen said angrily.
"Leviosa Spell!"
Hermione, not to be outdone, immediately waved her wand and cast the spell; the feather quivered lightly and rose slowly.
Hermione lifted her nose slightly, looking at Luoen smugly.
Luoen's face flushed, he rolled his eyes and turned his head.
"Look, Miss Granger has already succeeded, awesome! Gryffindor gets five points."
Professor Flitwick said with delight.
The classroom filled with rustling applause; everyone was no longer surprised by Hermione's success, and few were willing to congratulate her, even on the Gryffindor side, only a few responded actively.
"Dali, I know you can too."
"To make up for the points you lost from previous mistakes, now's the time to step up." Hermione whispered to Dali.
"You've already earned points; Professor Flitwick won't give me any more points."
Dali said.
"You'll definitely do better than me; Professor Flitwick will give you points, trust me."
Hermione continued.
"Alright."
Considering that Gryffindor had indeed lost many points because of him before, Dali reluctantly agreed.
Dali looked at the feather ahead, shook his head; he indeed needed to do better than Hermione to possibly earn points.
"Leviosa Spell!"
Dali gently waved his wand, but his target was not the feather; it was the Charms textbook placed before them.
Swish.
The heavy textbook floated up, hovering in midair.
"Whoa!" Professor Flitwick exclaimed, "That's fantastic, Mr. De Si Li made the textbook fly directly; that's far harder than a feather."
"Well done, Gryffindor gets five points."
In an instant, Gryffindor's side erupted in enthusiastic applause.
Seeing this, Hermione also smiled, but it was clear her grin was somewhat stiff.
Both received the same points; why were Gryffindor students willing to applaud Dali but not her?
And she always watches her conduct, never breaks school rules, and has almost never taken points from Gryffindor, yet why do others simply not like her?
She couldn't quite understand.
After class, in the hallway.
"No wonder everyone can't stand her; she's literally a nightmare. With that arrogant attitude, who would want to be friends with her?" Luoen complained to Harry and Dali.
His words had just finished when a figure quickly ran past them.
It was Hermione.
"She must have heard you," Harry said to Luoen.
Luoen's expression was a bit off, but he pretended not to care and said, "If she heard it, then she heard it. What I said was the truth; she must have noticed it herself. She doesn't have a single friend."
Harry and Dali exchanged a helpless glance.
Hermione didn't show up for the afternoon class.
When they went to the Halloween Eve banquet, they happened to overhear Pavati telling Lavend that Hermione had been crying in the girls' restroom all afternoon.
This made Luoen look very uncomfortable, as if he felt a bit guilty.
But that feeling only lasted a moment; when Luoen entered the hall and saw the multicolored Halloween decorations, he immediately cast Hermione's matter far into the clouds.
A thousand bats fluttered across the walls and ceiling, and another thousand swarmed like a low, dense cloud over the banquet tables. The entire hall was filled with the laughter and merriment of the Halloween feast.
Suddenly.
Professor Quirrell burst into the hall, his large scarf askew on his head, his face full of terror.
"Giant Monster— in the underground classroom— you should have known."
After saying that, he collapsed onto the floor, unconscious.
"Ah..."
A terrified voice rang out, many people let out fearful screams, and the hall descended into chaos.
Dali's gaze hardened, staring intently at the fallen Quirrell.
"Planning to steal the Philosopher's Stone? You brought this upon yourself!"
